《Everlasting》Chapter 1311 Stronghold

Since Chen Feng’s return to the Celestial Longevity Plane, the Boundless Corps had sent over some soldiers. However, there weren’t any high-ranking soldiers amongst them. Seeing that, Chen Feng could tell that the Boundless Corps was not in a good situation.
At present, thanks to the appearance of the Longevity Tower, Chen Feng’s crisis was resolved and the situation pacified. Due to that, Chen Feng thought of heading to the Boundless Corps to check out the situation there.
In the past, Chen Feng had thought of borrowing soldiers from the Boundless Corps. But now, he knew that it was likely not possible.
Chen Feng moved very quickly. He did not head to the Boundless Corps’ stronghold in the Celestial Longevity Plane. He knew, even if there were soldiers there, the number of soldiers would likely be low. Additionally, they would all be low-ranking soldiers.
Due to that, he had chosen to head directly to outer space. According to the information he received, the Boundless Corps had been spending all this time fighting in the Chaos Dimension. It was a very serious battle.
This time, in addition to Magiris, Heng Ri and the space-time extra-terrestrial creature, Chen Feng was also accompanied by another group of cultivators.
This group consisted of six Divine Princes and 13 normal Ageless Gold Immortals. With the exception of the Divine Princes Heavensfire, Iceform and Void, the rest were all from the Boundless Family. According to Chen Feng, since he would be heading there, he should mobilize a decent force to come with him. This force may prove useful once they reached the Boundless Corps. Moreover, the Longevity Tower was not following him as well. Should they encounter any dangers along the way, these Divine Princes would be able to help deal with the dangers.
“The Boundless Corps could already be considered as the strongest force in our Celestial Longevity Plane. Unexpectedly, while they are fighting desperately in the front lines, some petty fellows would try to stir up trouble for them from behind,” Divine Prince Heavensfire lamented.
“Yes. In recent years, the Boundless Corps has been constantly dispatching more soldiers over for the fight. Looks like the battle in outer space is quite serious.” Divine Prince Iceform nodded as well.
“For the past several million years, the creatures coming out of the Chaos Dimension have been rising, both in numbers and strength. I believe that the other Celestial Planes must be facing the same issue. This is also one reason why the Myriad Celestial Planes have not been able to do anything to the Immortal Plane.”
“We are able to cultivate in the cultivation paradise known as the Celestial Planes. Correspondingly, there is a price to be paid for that. In comparison, the Immortal Plane has to face less pressure.”
“The Immortal Plane has been developing rapidly in recent years. No one knows exactly how strong they have become. Next up, I plan to follow Young Master down to the Immortal Plane to check it out.”
“Me too. At present, the Slaughterers are rampaging about at a terrifying rate. Who knows how many living creatures have died to them? It is time for us old guys to take action.”
“Yes. Not too long ago, several of my friends who were exploring the starry space sent me a message. They were fighting against the Slaughterers. Their two sides had sustained losses. Hearing that, I feel this urge to head out as well.”

“Now, with the return of our Young Master and with Sir Longevity Tower keeping the peace, there is nothing else for us to worry about. We can finally head out.”
Listening to the Gold Immortals, Chen Feng smiled and said, “Fellow seniors, there is still a need to exercise caution. The number of Slaughterers is simply too high. Additionally, the Gold Immortal stage Slaughterers are also not easy to deal with. Besides, there is also the Immortal Plane’s army. Even for a Divine Prince, it is possible to become entrapped and killed in the end.”
“Thank you for the reminder, Young Master. We will be sure to exercise caution. Also, we have some junior clansmen and disciples under us. Hopefully, when the time comes, they too will be able to follow Young Master for some training,” a Divine Prince said with a smile.
“That’s not an issue. I have a piece of territory in the Immortal Plane. I have also established a connection with the Demon Plane, Dark Plane, Nether Plane, Blood Plane and Ghost Plane. As it is, we need manpower. When the time comes, we will need your help, seniors,” Chen Feng replied with a smile as well.
“Young Master, there’s no need to mention it. We are simply contributing for the Boundless Family.”
“Young Master, up ahead is one of our Boundless Corps’ space outposts,” a young-looking Ageless Gold Immortal said.
This Gold Immortal’s name was Huo Zhuo. He had once served as a Deputy Commander of the Boundless Corps. It had not been that long since he advanced to the Gold Immortal stage. Due to some special reasons, he had temporarily left the Boundless Corps. Coincidentally, his return to the Boundless Family happened at the same time as Chen Feng’s return.
As he was from the Boundless Corps, he was very loyal to the Boundless Family. Amongst all the Gold Immortals, he was also the one with the laxest attitude towards Chen Feng.
Chen Feng’s gaze peered through space, making its way through a distance of millions of li before a thick fog blocked his sight. In response, Chen Feng’s eyes shone with light and his gaze pierced through the fog to see countless arrays and command flags that served as array cores. Pushing his eye technique to its limits, Chen Feng was able to see through the countless arrays and see the soldiers there. Clad in distinctive and uniform suits of armour, the patterns on their armours proved that this was indeed a stronghold belonging to the Boundless Corps. It could also be considered as a barracks.
“Our Boundless Corps has eight strongholds in space. This one is the smallest one. Normally, it would have 200,000 True Immortals and 20,000 Heavenly Immortals. It also has a number of half-step Gold Immortals and no more than 10 Gold Immortals,” Huo Zhuo explained.
Chen Feng nodded. However, he was feeling somewhat puzzled. Judging by what Huo Zhuo said and what he could see, the strength of this stronghold was somewhat weak. Bluntly speaking, the force under Chen Feng was stronger than this. Rather, even the force that Lei Long had gathered up in recent years was stronger.
As Chen Feng was about to retract his gaze, his eyes suddenly glinted with light. Next, he closed his eyes and the Ageless Light shot forward from his glabella. This was an eye technique.

“Young Master, what is it?” Noticing the change in Chen Feng’s face, Huo Zhuo hastily asked.
“Enemies have appeared. There is a distance of 50 million kilometres between them and the stronghold. I do not know how many of them there are or their backgrounds, but they are very strong,” said Chen Feng, the Longevity Wings spreading out from his back. Instantly, he disappeared from sight.
“What? Enemies?!” The faces of the remaining cultivators sank as well. Next, they displayed various techniques to quickly rush forward.
As Chen Feng was in the midst of charging forward, he also sent out a wave of formidable divine sense. This wave of divine sense made its way into the stronghold before abruptly bursting outwards, alarming the soldiers within the stronghold. And so, the soldiers quickly discovered that there were several large warships approaching their position.
The soldiers were quick to react, instantly getting into defensive positions. At the same time, they also tried to communicate with the other strongholds. Only, their communications were jammed.
Following that, the teleportation array within the stronghold began operating. Unfortunately, even the teleportation array stopped working.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
When there was still a distance of several thousand li between them, the warships opened fire. Beam after beam of crimson flames gushed out from the warships.
Their attacks bombarded the barrier protecting the stronghold, exploding to create a dazzling display of fireworks.
“Not good!”
Chen Feng’s face sank. He could already see some cracks appearing on the barrier. The warships came prepared. That one wave of attacks was enough to inform Chen Feng that the soldiers in this stronghold would be incapable of stopping the warships.
Shua! Shua! Shua! Shua!
Chen Feng flew forward at an extremely fast speed. Every flash would bring him tens of millions of li forward, but he could not be certain if he could reach the stronghold before it was breached. Even if he could, he was also uncertain whether or not he could stop the enemy’s attacks.
Waving his hand, Chen Feng brought out the Longevity Bow. Next, a crimson stream of light flew forward. That was an arrow formed using the blood essence of a Gold Immortal. More, this was a Gold Immortal at the Divine Prince level.
The bow in Chen Feng’s hand had only finished curving back when the crimson stream of light arrived before one of the warships. It easily tore through the warship’s defensive barrier to leave a large hole on it. Next, the arrow blew up and countless cultivators flew out while screaming wretchedly.
Sou! Sou! Sou!
Next up, Chen Feng fired three more arrows in quick succession to destroy three more warships. Similar to what happened previously, a high number of cultivators emerged.
However, the next two arrows were stopped. One of the arrows was stopped by the energy cannons of the warship while the other arrow was stopped with the combined efforts of two cultivators.
It’s still alright. Seeing that, Chen Feng breathed a sigh of relief. The fact that two cultivators had needed to work together to stop his attack showed that the enemy did not have any experts who were incredibly strong.
The only thing that worried Chen Feng was the fact that the other party was well-prepared. They had a high number of cultivators on their side. Even if Chen Feng’s side could emerge victorious, this battle would surely lead to the loss of a high number of soldiers.
This was a force belonging to the Boundless Corps. If he could, Chen Feng did not want even a single one of them to die.
Finally, Chen Feng arrived at the stronghold. In that brief moment, the enemy had blasted open several cracks through the stronghold. The energy cannons continued to fire into the stronghold to inflict some casualties upon the soldiers there.
Several Gold Immortals led a group of half-step Gold Immortals forward as they worked on defending the cracks. They were already the strongest force within the stronghold. Chen Feng, however, shook his head. If Chen Feng was the enemy, he alone could charge in and start a bloodbath.
Sou! Sou!
Two streams of devastating flames shot towards the cracks. In response, the Gold Immortals guarding the cracks roared as they unleashed their strongest might in an attempt to stop the incoming attacks and save the soldiers behind them.
But not all the soldiers there chose to fight to the end. A Gold Immortal, two half-step Gold Immortals and several other soldiers quickly ran away amidst the confusion.
Chen Feng noticed that. However, he did not move to stop them. Instead, his figure dashed forward to arrive before the cracks.
Boom! Boom!
The two streams of devastating flames bombarded Chen Feng, but his figure merely shook for a moment before stabilizing. The Longevity Shield in his hand had become filled with dents and some see-through holes.
The few Gold Immortals there who had prepared themselves for death were initially shocked. To their surprise, someone had stopped the incoming attacks. Although this youngster was quite unfamiliar to them, the Longevity Wings on his back proved that he was a genuine member of the Longevity Clan.
“Senior, thank you for the assistance!” one of the Gold Immortals shouted.
Chen Feng nodded and waved his hand to send the Longevity Sword out. With every flash of light from the sword, one of the deserting cultivators would be killed. After the Longevity Sword returned to Chen Feng’s hand, all of the deserters – including the Gold Immortal – had died.
“Running away in the face of battle, death.” Chen Feng’s calm voice caused the soldiers who were in a state of chaos to fall quiet. Some who had been thinking of running away as well abandoned the idea.
Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou!
Divine Prince Heavensfire and the others arrived. Possessing a more fiery temperament, Divine Prince Heavensfire attacked the distant warship the moment he arrived. As for Divine Prince Iceform and the others, they did not even say a word before unleashing their various moves to defend the stronghold.
“Do you know where these fellows came from?” Magiris asked.
“Uncertain. in the beginning, I had assumed that this was a wave of creatures from the Chaos Dimension. Clearly, though, that is not the case.” Chen Feng shook his head.
Note: Huo Zhuo used to be translated as Grandfire in one of the earlier chapters, Chapter 1133.
