A black mass of Slaughterers swarmed forward, seemingly showing zero fear. They wanted to destroy Eternal World through sheer numbers.

“Ready!”

Eternal World’s forces had long since prepared for this. The energy cannons would open fire once the Slaughterer army came within range.

Chen Feng and the others were secretly feeling distressed. Although the energy cannons were formidable weapons of war, the amount of energy consumed was simply too great. More, they had to be supplied with high-grade power.

The last time the Slaughterers attacked, some Gold Immortals had already brought out their savings to combat them. Even so, in the face of the Slaughterers, energy cannons were still needed. Thus, some cultivators gnashed their teeth as they brought out their spirit stones.

Just as Eternal World’s forces were about to fire their energy cannons, the army of Slaughterers also – shockingly – brought forth large energy cannons. Some of the energy cannons that they brought out appeared somewhat similar to the ones on Eternal World’s side while some others appeared peculiar in shape. The auras that they emanated were also different. They contained the Slaughterers’ aura of slaughter.

Did the Slaughterers also create their own energy cannons? This will be troublesome, Chen Feng thought.

“Activate defences!”

Various rays of light shone and layer after layer of magic arrays appeared on Eternal World’s side.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The two sides fired their energy cannons at the same time. It was a most brutal sight to behold.

The energy cannons were known as weapons of war specifically meant to massacre high numbers of cultivators beneath the Gold Immortal stage. However, due to the high number of energy cannons involved, some were huge energy cannons, even Gold Immortals dared not recklessly charge forward. This level of bombardment might actually be able to blast them apart.

“The situation has changed.” Chen Feng and the other Gold Immortals exchanged glances, a look of worry appearing on their faces.

Finally, the bombardment from the energy cannons ended. The barrier of light that the Slaughterers created had been destroyed and many Slaughterers were killed. The number of energy cannons on the Slaughterers’ side was smaller, after all. Even so, the attacks from the Slaughterers also managed to tear open part of the defensive magic arrays on Eternal World’s side. It was the equivalent of breaking down one of their lines of defence.

Following that came a melee battle. Compared to what happened last time, the Gold Immortals were unable to kill as many Slaughterers.

This proved how much more severe the situation was.

“Attack!” Chen Feng charged forward as well. This time, Chen Feng and Magiris fought together. Magiris utilized a formidable eye technique, instantly trapping over 10,000 Slaughterers in an illusion.

Next, Chen Feng rushed forward and sword light swelled outwards as he began to quickly kill off the Slaughterers.

Before Chen Feng could finish off the affected Slaughterers, another 10,000 plus Slaughterers fell prey to Magiris’ illusion technique.

“Slowpoke,” Magiris said with a smile.

“I don’t think so.” Chen Feng’s aura suddenly froze before expanding. It grew several notches stronger.

Everywhere the two of them went, a high number of the Slaughterers would disappear. The cultivators who were following them were simply incapable of keeping up.

The other Gold Immortals also did not hesitate to take action and all of them fought while unleashing formidable auras. With the Gold Immortals taking the lead, the army of Slaughterers ended up suffering from heavy casualties.

The number of Slaughterers that fell to Magiris and Chen Feng had already exceeded the 100,000 mark and was still rising.

As Chen Feng fought, he was also secretly on guard. This army of Slaughterers had Gold Immortals on their side.

A colossal black silhouette swiftly flashed forward, charging towards one of the Gold Immortals.

“Careful!” Chen Feng had quickly noticed that it was the handiwork of the Space-time Slaughterer.

A beam of black light flashed by and a Gold Immortal was pierced by it. Next the black light vibrated and the Gold Immortal was ripped apart.

Immediately, a flying sword flew over to cleave the black light and the ripped pieces of the Gold Immortal converged to reform his body. However, his face had become pale and the strength of his aura fell by several notches.

“Friend Heavensgrind, hurry up and go heal your injuries!” A middle-aged cultivator who exuded the atmosphere of a sharp sword flew over. With a beckon, the flying sword flew into his hand.

“Thanks for the assistance.”

The wounded Gold Immortal Heavensgrind nodded his head and quickly returned to Eternal World. That attack earlier had wounded his core essence. Thus, he could no longer push himself.

As for the middle-aged sword immortal, he cast a grim look at the Space-time Slaughterer that was not too far away from him. The pressure exerted by this opponent was simply too great.

This middle-aged sword immortal had believed himself to be strong, a renowned character amongst Ageless Gold Immortals. He had even fought veteran Gold Immortals before. And yet, he did not have any confidence in facing this Space-time Slaughterer.

“Together!”

Several Gold Immortals attacked simultaneously and the Space-time Slaughterer’s colossal body was sent flying. But before they could become overjoyed, two blades of light slashed over, ripping through space like a hot knife through butter. One of the Gold Immortals failed to evade in time and was cleaved into two.

Two humanoid Slaughterers appeared. One of them was brandishing a sword. He was somewhat similar to Sword Demon, the Slaughterer that Chen Feng encountered in the past. As for the other one, he held a battle lance. The aura he exuded was a notch stronger compared to Sword Demon.

The moment these two Gold Immortal stage Slaughterers appeared, the few Gold Immortals from Eternal World who were nearby were assailed by a formidable atmosphere and were forced to constantly give ground.

“We have the advantage in numbers! Join forces to attack!” The middle-aged sword immortal took the lead to rush towards Sword Demon. As for the other Gold Immortals, they exchanged glances before taking action. Some attacked and some defended. It did not take long before they took on various combat roles.

“Magiris, it’s not looking good,” Chen Feng said, somewhat worried.

“The other party does indeed have Gold Immortals. However, there are only three of them. Aren’t they just committing suicide here?” Magiris said with a smile.

That was true. The number of Gold Immortals on Eternal World’s side had reached 100 while the Slaughterers only had 3. In a fight, they would only be besieged to their deaths.

“Sigh! They managed to kill off one of the Gold Immortals on our side the moment they appeared. They even grievously wounded one earlier. Can you not see how strong they are? Besides, these three are surely not the only Gold Immortals within this army.” After saying that, Chen Feng stopped fighting the Slaughterers. Instead, he used his eye technique. Countless black threads emerged from his eyes and the 10,000 plus Slaughterers obstructing him were restrained.

“Impressive! This move of yours is almost as good as mine!” Magiris shouted.

“You take care of these little fellows.” After saying that, Chen Feng’s figure turned invisible.

“This guy.” Magiris had been thinking of taking action against the enemy Gold Immortals. But seeing Chen Feng take action first, all Magiris could do was shake his head helplessly.

The Space-time Slaughterer that was sent flying earlier flew back. More, a spatial passageway had appeared on its back and two strange-looking Slaughterers emerged from it.

One of them was like a large centipede. It swung its long, hundred plus blade-like limbs as it charged towards the Gold Immortals, ignoring the attacks striking its body.

The other Slaughterer was even more unique in appearance. It was like a big ball without any limbs or tentacles. But its whole surface was covered in eyes.

“Everyone, stay away!”

By then, some of the cultivators had already sensed something amiss. The weaker Gold Immortals began retreating while several Gold Immortals who believed themselves to be strong attacked the ball-shaped Slaughterer.

Weng!

Suddenly, the eyes on the ball-shaped Slaughterer snapped open to released greyish streams of light.

Not a single one of the cultivators there could tell just how many eyes the ball-shaped Slaughterer had. From what they could see, the number of eyes on the Slaughterer was not that high. However, when they tried to get a proper count of the number of eyes, they found that they were incapable of doing so. It was a very peculiar feeling.

Nearly 10 Gold Immortals were affected by the streams of light and they found themselves within an illusion.

“What a formidable illusion technique!”

Two of them, possessing strong wills, struggled against the illusion technique and tried to move forward only for the centipede Slaughterer to smash them away. Next, its blade-like limbs swung and countless blades of light swept forward to attack those caught in the illusion technique.

Seeing what was happening, the Gold Immortals who were protecting the defensive perimeters all fired out some secret techniques.

Chen Feng also emerged from the void, the Longevity Sword in hand. Sword light flashed and tens of the centipede Slaughterer’s limbs were severed. Chen Feng had wanted to continue attacking and go for the kill when the lance-wielding Slaughterer swung his battle lance while firing an intense wave of killing intent at Chen Feng.

Chen Feng was quick to dodge and a semi-transparent battle lance pierced through the after-image that he left behind.

“Kill!”

The Gold Immortals on Eternal World’s side roared furiously. The middle-aged sword immortal and an old man worked together to cut the centipede Slaughterer into two.

However, the ball-shaped Slaughterer opened its eyes again and greyish streams of light shot out yet again.

This time, Eternal World’s Gold Immortals had prepared countermeasures against this move. Several beams of golden light erupted in space to form a massive talisman. This was a Heart Clarity Mantra Talisman created by several Gold Immortals and it became like a great shield to stop the opponent’s soul attack.

Chen Feng brandished his sword, the Longevity Wings on his back flapping furiously as his flight speed transcended space-time. His objective, the ball-shaped Slaughterer.

It was very obvious that the ball-shaped Slaughterer was a soul-type Slaughterer. Moreover, its soul was extraordinarily strong. By Chen Feng’s estimate, if he could kill it, obtain its crystal core and devour it, his soul power would soar.

That said, he was also aware that this opponent would not be easy to handle. Only, given the present situation, the number of Gold Immortals on his side was higher. Thus, this was a good opportunity. Besides, after encountering such a formidable soul-type Slaughterer, the desire to fight it had sprouted within Chen Feng’s mind.

The sword in his hand flew out, flashing in space a few times before arriving in front of the ball-shaped Slaughterer. But the ball-shaped Slaughterer only opened one of its eyes to fire out the semi-transparent silhouette of a sword to stop Chen Feng’s flying sword attack. After that, two more of its eyes snapped open and greyish streams of light shot towards Chen Feng.

Chen Feng’s eyes flashed with light as he too, fired out a soul attack. At the same time, two Gold Immortals appeared beside Chen Feng. A vertical eye appeared on the glabella of one of the Gold Immortals to fire out a golden beam of light. That was Ageless Light, something that only Gold Immortals could form.

The other Gold Immortal waved his hand to throw out a cyan-coloured seal. The seal radiated cyan light that enveloped the surrounding space and locked down the ball-shaped Slaughterer’s position.
