《Everlasting》Chapter 1159 Difficulty Multiplied

As expected, after absorbing some of the spiritual objects that Chen Feng provided, the connection between the fragment of the Great Wilderness Ding and Chen Feng grew closer. It became more convenient for Chen Feng to mobilize it.
After passing through 30 palace halls, the items Chen Feng obtained the most were various immortal techniques. And while the immortal techniques were quite good, not one of them could move Chen Feng.
I wonder, what did the others gain? Perhaps, after reaching the top, I can loot them. When he thought of that, Chen Feng could not stop but burst into a smile.
Along the way, Chen Feng noted some of the patterns there. The first few stages could be quickly passed, but the higher one went, the harder it became. The time needed to pass a stage would increase.
By the time Chen Feng made it to the 50th stage, he had spent 20 years there. And that was despite Chen Feng going at it at a speedy rate. Back when he reached the 40th stage, Chen Feng had stabilized his position of number one. Qing Shan and the others gave it their all to chase him only to see the distance between them growing.
Chen Feng, on the other hand, could already feel the pressure. Most importantly, he did not know how many more palace halls there were. It was a most special state of mind he was in.
“Honestly, I’ve had enough with this test!” Chen Feng abruptly got to his feet and rumbling sounds rang out from his body. In his hand was the Longevity Sword and his body wore the Longevity Combat Armour. The power that he was displaying here was 10 times greater than before.
Both the Longevity Sword and Longevity Combat Armour were at the pseudo-Divine tier. They were more than enough for both offence and defence. Thus, the rate at which Chen Feng passed the stages there increased.
The 50th stage, 51st stage… Chen Feng used but a short time to pass several stages in a row. But he did not stop. Instead, he continued onwards, going all the way to the 60th stage before stopping.
The 10 stages took Chen Feng another 10 years. Additionally, the difficulty involved had risen as well. It was as though Chen Feng had displayed too great of a strength, triggering some secret changes. By Chen Feng’s estimate, the difficulty level that he was facing was already at the standard of a mid-level Heavenly Immortal.
This rate of advance was already very fast, but Chen Feng remained unsatisfied. The Longevity Combat Armour on his body receded, replaced by a combat armour formed from the fragment of the Great Wilderness Ding. The Longevity Wings unfurled from his back as well and his soul flame danced as the Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight was activated. And so, Chen Feng’s rate of advance rose again.
Another ten years went by and Chen Feng charged into the 70th stage. Following that, despite giving it his all, Chen Feng could not stop his rate of advance from slowing down.
By the time he made it to the 80th stage, the difficulty level had risen to that of the high-level Heavenly Immortal stage.
Chen Feng felt somewhat bored with the stages. However, there was no doubt that his cultivation base had risen greatly throughout the decades. His fleshly body, divine sense, perception, reaction and even the development of his potential. All of them had undergone a striking transformation.

This was a comprehensive progress. By Chen Feng’s estimate, his combat power had advanced by one whole level.
And yet, despite his speedy rise in cultivation base, every palace hall he had to face would give him greater pressure.
Naturally, the rewards for passing the stages had also risen correspondingly. The quality of the immortal techniques began rising and Chen Feng finally obtained a few secret techniques that he found to be of interest. There were also some spiritual objects and divine objects, but half of them were devoured and absorbed by the fragment of the Great Wilderness Ding.
This is already the 86th stage. I wonder, how many palace halls are there next? The Longevity Wings spread out and Chen Feng’s speed rose to the extreme. His figure was flitting about amidst various streams of light. Every now and again, he would attack and the Longevity Sword would strike a stream of light, resulting in bursts of dazzling light.
This was the 86th stage. Countless Heavenly laws were rampaging about there. Just one careless mistake from Chen Feng would result in them striking and wounding him. Getting entangled by the Heavenly laws would be even worse. Thankfully, the Longevity Wings was capable of transcending space-time. Thus, in the face of the many Heavenly laws, forming what appeared like cobwebs around him, Chen Feng was able to move about freely.
However, just as Chen Feng was about to charge out, all the Heavenly laws that were intertwining each other swept towards Chen Feng, leaving not a single loophole for Chen Feng to evade.
No way, so strong?! Chen Feng was aware that, given the Longevity Wings present level, he would not be able to evade. Only by having the Longevity Wings advance another level, achieving true ability to transcend space-time would he be able to evade. But now, Chen Feng had no choice but to find another way to break through. The Longevity Sword in his hand promptly flew forward before blowing up with a bang to break open a spatial passageway. Before the passageway could close up, Chen Feng swiftly dashed in.
Even though Chen Feng managed to break through, he had still taken some damage from the attack. Several wounds had appeared on his body. That was the result of the sweeping power of the Heavenly laws. If it weren’t for the suit of armour, formed from the fragment of the Great Wilderness Ding, Chen Feng’s fleshly body would have been terribly damaged.
Chen Feng then waved his hand and a stream of light gathered before the Longevity Sword reformed itself. Sword light flowed and grand dao energy rippled outwards as the Longevity Sword returned to the pseudo-Divine tier.
This was the result of Chen Feng cultivating the Longevity weapons all this time. Not only had the Longevity Sword fused with the many years of effort from Chen Feng, it had also fused with large amounts of sword energy, sword souls, sword will and countless sword fragments. Add the secret technique known as the Longevity Artifact Refining Technique into the equation, Chen Feng would be able to easily reform the Longevity Sword, even after it was destroyed a hundred times.
I’m actually wounded. Chen Feng fell to the ground, his wounds healing up instantly. All the chaotic streams of Heavenly laws had disappeared as well, as though they were never there.
I wonder, did anyone die? As Chen Feng was leaving the palace hall, he turned to look around, but saw nothing.

It is becoming increasingly difficult. I wonder, how many more stages are there? Having to face such a formidable pressure several times in a row left Chen Feng somewhat exhausted. Even Chen Feng himself was not feeling confident. He did not know how much longer he would be able to endure.
Maybe I really do need to rest for a while. The moment the thought flashed across Chen Feng’s mind, he immediately felt his will to fight weakening.
“Not good!” With a thought from Chen Feng, his essence, energy and soul power spread out and his insight acupoints stirred violently, stimulating his potential non-stop. Thanks to that, Chen Feng became filled with vigour. Raising his head skywards, he then released a lengthy roar. He was filled with a desire to find someone to fight.
Walking into the next palace hall, a combat puppet with a strength close to that of a half-step Gold Immortal granted Chen Feng’s desire.
With just one clash, Chen Feng was sent flying. However, the Longevity Wings merely flapped lightly to unravel the force acting upon his body and he was able to stabilize his position. Next, Chen Feng’s body blasted forward and he quickly slashed with the Longevity Sword in his hand. The power behind this attack contained the power of wind and lightning, making it faster while giving it an even greater power of devastation.
After several exchanges, Chen Feng was able to figure out his opponent’s cultivation state and pattern. This combat puppet was very strong and the iron staff in its hand was formed using the power of metal and earth. It had astonishing offensive and defensive power. Its speed, however, was its weakness.
Chen Feng’s eyes turned pitch-black and his gaze fell upon the combat puppet’s body. Immediately, he saw the inner circulation routes of the combat puppet’s energy. He could even see the materials used in its creation and the crafting method.
He was able to see through his opponent with just one glance and determine the power circuit of his opponent. It was a very pleasant feeling.
Throughout the years spent fighting through the stages there, Chen Feng’s eye technique had become stronger and the Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight had risen to the next level. Only, Chen Feng’s present level was not high enough. No matter how much power he may possess, he was lacking in the corresponding perceptive ability. Thus, there was no way for the Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight to level up again.
Shua!
Chen Feng moved swiftly and the sword in his hand stabbed the combat puppet’s body. Following that, the combat puppet which had been unleashing ferocious attacks at Chen Feng slowed down somewhat. The Longevity Sword stabbed forward again to strike the combat puppet’s body 18 times in a row. In the end, the combat puppet came to a complete halt. Chen Feng’s sword energy had cut off the rapid flow of energy within its body.
Seeing through reality and falsehoods to attack the flaws. Following the rise in the Divine Eyes of Heavenly Insight’s power, Chen Feng’s combat power rose by another level as well.
The 88th palace hall…
The 89th palace hall…
In the 90th palace hall, Chen Feng encountered an interesting opponent. It was a young man in a cyan-coloured suit of armour. Brandishing a sword, this young man charged, forcing Chen Feng to give ground again and again from the very start.
A War Immortal at the high-level Heavenly Immortal stage. Additionally, a half-step Gold Immortal has bolstered his strength with the dao of wind and strength. His sword technique looks like the Great Ripper Sword Technique from the Firmament Smasher Sword Record. In terms of combat power, he is likely in no way inferior compared to Tun Ri and the others. In the face of Chen Feng’s gaze, not a single one of the young man’s move could escape his eyes.
However, while Chen Feng was able to grasp his opponent’s attack pattern, blocking and defending against them was a different matter. Due to that, Chen Feng had to keep on giving ground until the Longevity Sword in his hand became filled with cracks. In the end, it shattered apart.
The Longevity weapons are still flawed. They’re not perfect enough. Even though both our weapons are pseudo-Divine artifacts, mine was actually destroyed by the other party. This is a form of humiliation.
Still, the other party is a high-level Heavenly Immortal. Isn’t he going overboard here by bullying a minor mid-level True Immortal like me? A smile appeared on Chen Feng’s face and he allowed the opponent’s sword to strike his body.
This War Immortal was a living person who had been turned into a combat puppet. His former memories had been wiped clean, leaving behind only his will to fight. Due to that, his combat power became even stronger.
The combat armour blocked the sword attack, buying Chen Feng some time. And so, Chen Feng began counter attacking. White light flew out from his left eye while black light flew out from his right eye. The two streams of light swiftly formed a yin yang symbol before smashing towards the War Immortal. At the same time, the Longevity Whip appeared in Chen Feng’s hand and it transformed into a line as it shot forward.
Shua!
The yin yang symbol was cleaved apart by sword energy and several cracks appeared across Chen Feng’s Longevity Wings. However, with a flash of light from Chen Feng’s eyes, the dissipated yin yang energy converged once more to form a chain before flying forward, entangling the opponent.
Although it’s been somewhat irritating having to spend all these years facing those stages, I cannot deny that my strength has risen greatly. Even without borrowing the power of the Longevity Tower or the Blood Mustering Bead, I can still fend off an expert at the high-level Heavenly Immortal stage. Rather, I might be stronger. This is my own power!
Pa! Pa! Pa! Pa!
This War Immortal’s swordsmanship was very strong. His every attack contained the dao of strength and wind. The power of devastation behind his attacks far exceeded Chen Feng’s imaginations.
The War Immortal’s sword attacks cut down both the chain and Longevity Whip while swift and fleeting sword beams shot towards Chen Feng amidst the shattered energy fragments from the chain and Longevity Whip.
Snickering, Chen Feng then slanted his body and the Longevity Wings on his back abruptly swept forth. Next, a mighty hurricane surged forward to blow away the energy fragments. As for the War Immortal, he was slapped away by the Longevity Wings.

The Unified States of Mana
My name is Kyra Baker, I’m 20 years old and a university student, and recently I’ve been offered a scholarship to a definitely-not-shady magical academy. A ‘support device’ I was given shows me a list of classes I can take, all involving mana, magic, and Skills with a capital S. To get there I was lumped into a ship full of strange and alien creatures, jumping between worlds as we pick up more and more hapless ‘students’. Things were starting to make a little sense, until the ship crashed into an alien world. Now, I might be getting trained as a rebel soldier, or something? Looking on the bright side, I haven’t gotten this much exercise in a long time and there are plenty of cute girls around. When I develop some Skills and work on my classes, maybe I’ll become strong enough to actually have the time to flirt with them. ~ One of the few surviving records thought to be written by the Empress before her rise to power.
