Rather, they were meant to guard against any outside interferences.

Chen Feng then released a strand of his aura. The grand daos sensed it and tribulation clouds began gathering and formidable Heavenly might pressed down on Chen Feng.

The Heavenly Tribulation began and a lightning bolt the size of a water bucket descended first. Chen Feng simply allowed the lightning bolt to strike him. It was Devastation Lightning, something that Chen Feng had encountered many times before. Only, this one was of a higher quality.

Chen Feng’s body did not even shake. After striking Chen Feng’s body, the lightning attack simply disappeared. Next, wave after wave of varying lightning attacks appeared. Devastation Lightning, Profound Vajra Lightning, Great Divinespill Lightning, Cyclical Aerofire Lightning, Nine Profound Lightning. Many types of lightning attacks took turns to appear. It was as though a hole had opened up in the lightning pond of the Nine Heavens and Chen Feng’s entire body was drowned by the lightning attacks.

Following that, blades of light flew out from his body to cut down the several chains tying his body up.

This was Chen Feng’s first time facing two types of tribulations. And while it appeared easy, Chen Feng knew that this was just the beginning. Overcoming his tribulation to level up was surely not going to be an easy matter.

Even though he had already set up magic arrays around the place, his concerns ended up coming true in the end.
