“Let’s go somewhere else. This place feels strange,” Chen Feng said, frowning.

Suddenly, their surrounding space shook as void space became sealed. Next, a battle lance and a sword expanded in size, seemingly no limit to how big they can get as they shot towards Chen Feng’s team of three, one from the left and one from the right.

The True Immortals from the Immortal Plane had arrived.

“I’ve been waiting for you fellows,” Chen Feng said, flicking his finger to send two clumps of starlight out to block the incoming attacks. However, the clumps of starlight scattered as the battle lance and sword pummelled their way through them before continuing ahead, charging straight towards Chen Feng.

Chen Feng’s figure flashed to disappear from the very spot he was occupying. Next, a roaring fire dragon swiped about while charging forward. As for the Dark Kirin, he had disappeared the moment the attack against them emerged.

There was a total of 10 True Immortals scattered around. Additionally, there were four more True Immortals in charge of sealing up void space. They had finally managed to catch up to Chen Feng. It was a rare chance to capture everyone from Chen Feng’s team.

“Descent of the Nocturnal Curtain!”

Chen Feng was the only one who could hear the Dark Kirin’s voice. As a result, the chaotic situation became engulfed in darkness. This was a secret technique of the Dark Scripture. It was not simply a matter of turning the place dark. The accompanying atmosphere of suffocation was capable of even blocking one’s divine sense. As for the roaring fire dragon, it abruptly disappeared, leaving not a single sound nor form behind.

Naturally, all of that were only acting against the True Immortals from the Immortal Plane, not affecting Chen Feng and Huo Yunlong in the slightest.

“Rampage!” Another True Immortal fired out a fist-type secret technique. Each and every one of the True Immortals displayed their various methods to break the curtain of darkness that the Dark Kirin had sent forward.

That said, this move from the Dark Kirin had helped Chen Feng’s team by blocking the senses of the enemy True Immortals. And so, Chen Feng and Huo Yunlong made use of the opportunity to attack them. One of the enemy True Immortals who had just recovered from the move did not even have the time to assess his surroundings before the Chaos Chain tied him up. Following that, the Immortal Slaughter Sword cleaved him into two. He screamed wretchedly as he attempted to re-connect his cleaved body parts only for Chen Feng to pull him into the Bedazzling Star Map, where he was suppressed.

Huo Yunlong, on the other hand, successfully inflicted a grave wound on a True Immortal with a sneak attack.

However, that was all they could do. After that, several True Immortals joined forces to attack. With just one confrontation, Chen Feng’s team of three was immediately and badly wounded.

In fact, if it weren’t for the protection of the pseudo-Divine artifact, the attacks could have instantly blown them up.

Just as Chen Feng was about to make use of his pseudo-Divine artifacts’ power to break out from the encirclement, he heard a scream. Two of the Immortal Plane’s True Immortals had blown up, their bodies shattered apart.

The pressure on Chen Feng lessened and he saw two grey-coloured wyrms attacking furiously. Their massive bodies were constantly thrashing about. After killing off the two True Immortals, they then smashed another two away.

“A good chance, let’s go!” Chen Feng’s team was quick to seize the opportunity and they charged out from the encirclement. Before leaving, though, they also collected the yet-to-dissipate primary spirits of the two killed True Immortals.

“These are good items, even more valuable than a True Immortal’s blood essence. Refining them would increase the strength of my soul,” Chen Feng said, smiling.

“I’m not a monster like you. Even a drop of a True Immortal’s blood essence would take me quite some time to refine. Additionally, there is a risk involved in doing so,” Huo Yunlong said, a hint of envy on his face. Huo Yunlong was from Flame World. Later, he ascended to the Immortal Plane. He felt envy towards the cultivators from the Celestial Planes and those belonging to the Heaven-defying races. That was particularly so since meeting Chen Feng. Through Chen Feng, he had witnessed many monstrous sights, which caused his heart to stir.

“Truth be told, my talent is only average. Though, my luck is better than most,” Chen Feng said.

After breaking out from the encirclement, the three of them swiftly sped up, charging into a group of asteroids. Upon entering, they sensed thick waves of death energy. In the face of the death energy, their hearts cried out in alarm.

“Be careful. The death energy here is too strong. Once the death energy enters our bodies, it will devour our vitality,” the Dark Kirin said cautiously.

“However, this death energy is also a good energy source for cultivation and artifact forging,” Chen Feng said, reaching out to grasp. Next, the surrounding death energy began roiling violently. In but the blink of an eye, Chen Feng was completely wrapped by the death energy.

“How outrageous! You really dare to eat anything.” Huo Yunlong backed away, flames raging around him to burn and stop the death energy from approaching him. Due to that, sizzling sounds could be heard.

“This is the formidable cultivation technique of the Longevity Clan. However, a certain type of body is needed for that as well.” The Dark Kirin was also devouring the surrounding powers. Only, he was devouring the power of chaos and darkness while blocking the death energy.

At any rate, he was not as much of a freak of nature as Chen Feng.

Like a volcano, the Death acupoint inside Chen Feng’s body kept quaking and erupting. As high amounts of death energy entered it, the Death acupoint began expanding in size. The Twin Swords of Life and Death, already at the Immortal tier, transformed into a revolving circle, revolving endlessly to refine the death energy and improve itself.

“Is this the time to be cultivating?! Our enemy is coming!” Huo Yunlong said.

Opening his eyes, Chen Feng immediately saw several True Immortals charging over like meteors. In fact, the Dark Kirin had already taken action. The Dark Scripture rotated slowly, emanating a power of darkness which once again brought down a curtain of darkness, stripping the surrounding space of the concept of direction and even time.

Pondering for a moment, Chen Feng then waved his hand and a black-coloured item, shaped like an eyeball, appeared in his hand. This was one of the treasures that Chen Feng had managed to obtain in the past, the Void Maelstrom. A top-grade Immortal artifact, it contained extremely formidable void powers.

In addition to the Void Maelstrom, Chen Feng also brought out a pair of top-grade Yao Eyes. Likewise, it was also a top-grade Immortal artifact. Only, Chen Feng haven’t had the time to refine and fuse with it.

The reason Chen Feng brought it out was because he had this feeling. By fully refining it, the pair of Yao Eyes would completely fuse with his eyes.

The pair of Yao Eyes floated on Chen Feng’s palm. Next, with a glance from Chen Feng, the Void Maelstrom immediately unleashed its power. Chen Feng was confident that, even if this move could not inflict any losses upon their pursuers, it should still have no issues stopping them for a moment.

“Break!”

Immediately after that, however, a shout reverberated outwards to shake the surrounding starry space. It was like a Heavenly clap of thunder and soundwaves spread out to instantly punch open a passageway through the terrain that Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin had created. Next, a True Immortal strode through the passageway to appear before them.

“Chen Feng, hand over the pseudo-Divine artifacts and I promise that you will be safe,” said the True Immortal, who looked like a scholar.

“That’s right! Chen Feng, pseudo-Divine artifacts are not something that a minor cultivator like you can possess. The wise will submit to their circumstances. Hand over the pseudo-Divine artifacts and you can preserve your life. If you do not, you will die. The choice is simple. I believe you should know what to do.” Another True Immortal strode out. This one was clad in armour.

“I don’t want the pseudo-Divine artifacts. I just want the Dark Scripture.” The third True Immortal appeared. He also cultivated the power of darkness, which swirled around him. His eyes shone with black light and he cast an inflamed gaze upon the Dark Kirin the moment he appeared.

“So, it’s a Dark Kirin. Not only will I obtain the Dark Scripture this time, I will also turn the Dark Kirin into my mount.”

“Enough with your nonsense!” Chen Feng shook the Void Maelstrom in his hand and void powers condensed themselves into blades to slice forward. At the same time, the Bedazzling Star Map also promptly unleashed its might. Like surging flames, its power finally formed a thick wall of energy. Countless stars could be seen flashing with light within this wall.

“Shackles of Darkness.” Killing intent glinted across the Dark Kirin’s eyes as he employed a secret technique. The power of darkness within a radius of five million kilometres began converging upon their location to form countless threads. “It’s about time we leave.” Huo Yunlong had not attacked at all. Instead, he suddenly waved his hand and an array platform appeared there.

Chen Feng and the Dark Kirin acted at the same time and all three moved to stand on the array platform. Light flashed and the array platform blew up as the three of them disappeared.

By the time the True Immortals extricated themselves from the threads entangling them, they saw that they had lost track of Chen Feng’s team of three. Their faces turned dark and they began utilizing their secret techniques to track down Chen Feng’s team.

“We have already come this far. No matter what, we cannot just turn back.”

“If we return without having gained anything, we will become laughing stocks!”

When Chen Feng’s team of three re-appeared, they found that there were blade-like winds blowing around them. The blades of wind could even leave slicing marks on the surface of some of the nigh-indestructible asteroids there. Chen Feng tried to test the power of the winds and a bloody wound was instantly inflicted upon his arm.

“What a formidable wind blade!” Chen Feng exclaimed. The might of his fleshly body had already surpassed most Ascendant Immortals and could stop even the attacks from Immortal artifacts. Unexpectedly, the unassuming wind blade would be able to cut through his skin.

Unlike Chen Feng, Huo Yunlong and the Dark Kirin did not attempt to test the strength of the wind blades. Despite having the protection of the magic treasures, they were still having issues steadying their bodies. It felt as though they were on a hurricane-ridden ocean.

“Brother Huo, how far away did your teleportation array send us?” Chen Feng suddenly asked.

“That was a large-scale teleportation array. If it weren’t for the gravity of the situation, I would not have been willing to use it. I believe it should be able to teleport us through a distance of five million kilometres,” Huo Yunlong said after a moment’s consideration.

“Five million kilometres. This is a chaotic place, the source of the death energy. It cannot be viewed using common sense. I think you two should head into the Bedazzling Star Map,” Chen Feng suggested.

“No way. This harsh environment is the best for training.” Huo Yunlong refused.

“I can protect myself,” the Dark Kirin said frankly.

Chen Feng nodded and he said nothing else. Waving his hand, he sent the Chaos Chain forward, spreading out in a circular motion. After that, the asteroids that were charging over and the strong winds gradually slowed down. It was because the chain was devouring the surrounding power of chaos.
