“Who are we facing here?” The sword in Chen Feng’s hand thrummed violently and he unleashed a Storm of Sword Beams. Next, a mighty combat puppet that had just appeared from the surrounding space was hacked into pieces.

“They’re members of the Order of Divine Runes. You need to be careful. Eh? You’ve advanced to the mid-level Earthen Immortal stage!” Liu Wuxiang then grew shocked.

“All right, I see you guys. I will handle the situation outside. Don’t be doing nothing in there.” Chen Feng’s gaze pierced through space to find four cultivators trapped inside a great array. This great array was within yet another dimension. Without the Magic Eyes of Darkness, it would have been very difficult to find them.

“There’s no need for you to say that. As long as you can destroy one of the array cores, we will be able to charge out.”

“I’ll do my best!”

The Order of Divine Runes. Quite the domineering name, but I don’t recall ever hearing about it before. Is this a new power? Either that or it is a nameless force in the Immortal Plane, Chen Feng mumbled to himself.

Only the names of first-rate forces in the Immortal Plane could attract the attention of the Celestial Planes, after all.

After spending some time fighting the combat puppets, however, Chen Feng knew that it was likely not the latter. The combat puppets that the Order of Divine Runes created were not to be underestimated. The quality of the puppets was good. Unfortunately, the level was not high enough. If the level of the puppets was higher, Chen Feng would have a much harder time saving Liu Wuxiang’s team.

Liu Wuxiang was someone with a formidable combat power. The fact that he would end up becoming trapped here proved that this was quite the serious issue.

A combat puppet fought a melee battle against Chen Feng while two wyrm puppets besieged Chen Feng, one from the left and one from the right. Occasionally, world powers would surge forward to interfere with Chen Feng’s movements.

Again, although the rune puppets were works of exquisite quality, their level was somewhat low. Thus, they were incapable of posing too much of a threat to Chen Feng. Next, however, the ground of a spot not too far away from Chen Feng quaked and one humanoid skeleton after another crawled out from the ground. Chen Feng could see runes empowering every single one of the skeletons.

After that, the skeletons – wielding various weapons – gathered into a large army before charging towards Chen Feng. A perfunctory glance at them would have given one the impression that they were cultivators from the Ghost Plane.

This one move had surpassed the might of Eternal World’s Jade Talisman Sect.

“How troublesome!”

Chen Feng waved his hand and the Dragon Tiger Seal charged forward once more. With a booming sound, a massive crater appeared on the ground as countless skeletons were turned to powder.

The Steel Enigma Sword flashed forward and sword beams spread outwards. As a result, the combat puppet before Chen Feng and the wyrm puppets were all cleaved into two each. Then, they were disintegrated by the power of the sword beams.

While it had appeared like a casual move, Chen Feng was in fact, on high alert. Even now, he was incapable of figuring out the other party’s position. Meanwhile, the puppets coming at him seemed endless.

Chen Feng could clearly see runes floating in the air, like snowflakes. The runes rapidly merged together to form various types of combat puppets.

The combat puppets did not possess formidable strength. Rather, each of them was only as strong as a Human Immortal. What they did have, was numbers. One use of the Dragon Tiger Seal from Chen Feng managed to shatter apart over 10,000 of them only for 100,000 of them to gradually appear instead. All of them then surrounded Chen Feng.

“This is not the way to go.” As Chen Feng had gotten stronger after overcoming his tribulation, Chen Feng had wanted to stay there and have a good fight against them. However, he could faintly sense danger there.

He had felt it since entering this place. It was a foreboding sensation that refused to dissipate. Thus, all Chen Feng wanted to do now was to rescue Liu Wuxiang’s team as fast as possible and charge out.

Having determined the positions of Liu Wuxiang and the other three fellows, the Steel Enigma Sword in Chen Feng’s hand rapidly hacked down to cut open space. With a flash, Chen Feng then charged in. After entering the dimension, Chen Feng did not simply stand still. Instead, he kept sending sword beams out to slice apart the great array entrapping Liu Wuxiang’s team. Unexpectedly, in just the blink of an eye, the great array had recovered to its normal state.

“It’s useless. This great array is protected by talismans. You will need to destroy this whole great array with one attack. Right now, the easiest option is to destroy its array cores. That way, we’ll be able to charge out!” Liu Wuxiang shouted.

“Destroy its array cores? Easier said than done.” Chen Feng unleashed Slicing Sword Beams to hack apart the combat puppets that were pouncing at him.

Boom!

Next, the Dragon Tiger Seal released a roar of dragons and tigers before smashing its way towards the great array. But when the Dragon Tiger Seal was approaching the great array, the great array immediately released a loud sound and waves of light flowed out from the top part of the great array. They were like water ripples. Additionally, there were also countless runes floating there, generating a power of softness to stop the Dragon Tiger Seal.

I knew it won’t be that easy. Black light kept flashing out from Chen Feng’s eyes as he began searching for the array cores. It was then that even stronger enemies appeared.

An unimposing combat puppet had appeared. It had the shape of a normal human. In fact, its skin, appearance and every other detail looked like that of a human.

Despite its appearance, Chen Feng could still tell that it was not a human. It was a puppet. Even though there were streams of energy surging vigorously within this combat puppet’s body, there was no trace of life there.

“Ascendant Immortal stage.” Even before fighting it, Chen Feng could already tell how powerful the puppet was.

There was only one such combat puppet with that level of strength there. Thus, Chen Feng did not feel too concerned. Given his present level of strength, a full-powered punch was enough to shatter the puppet to pieces. Next, however, even more combat puppets emerged.

A total of six combat puppets with the strength of Ascendant Immortals had emerged. Just the palpitating power within their bodies was enough to tell Chen Feng that their combat powers were extraordinary.

“Sigh! Chen Feng, you should hurry up and leave.” Liu Wuxiang sighed.

In his opinion, no matter how powerful Chen Feng may be, dealing with those six puppets was very difficult. At any rate, Chen Feng’s cultivation level was still too low. If he had already reached the Ascendant Immortal stage, then he might be able to fight the puppets.

“Don’t worry. These puppets cannot stop me.” Chen Feng stabbed forward with his sword to punch a large hole through one of the combat puppets only for the other five combat puppets to quickly surround him. In response, Chen Feng darted aside. As he did so, the hole on the damaged combat puppet healed up completely.

Chen Feng was not simply boasting earlier. The six combat puppets he faced were only about as strong as the black-armoured cultivators he had faced during his tribulation. And yet, Chen Feng had managed to defeat them all even before overcoming his tribulation and advance to the next level. Only, he was presently inside someone else’s bodily world. The power of worldly laws here was exhausting 30% of his strength. Additionally, he also had to divert some of his power to find the array cores.

More, Chen Feng could also sense some hidden pressure. He did not believe that these few puppets were the only things he had to face.

Deploying the Longevity Steps, Chen Feng then flitted about while displaying his sword techniques. He fought while moving around the great array. It did not take long before Chen Feng found an opening. With a Storm of Sword Beams move, he hacked one of the combat puppets to pieces. Amongst the hacked pieces of the combat puppet was a talisman, which shone with golden light. The talisman – the core of the combat puppet – broke apart and the combat puppet was defeated.

Sou! Sou!

Chen Feng found a stroke of inspiration and entered a wondrous state. With a swing of his sword, his sword energy transformed into a stream, which then entered the body of another combat puppet.

Pa!

The talisman within the combat puppet shattered and the puppet instantly froze. It was a hidden energy stream attack by Chen Feng.

Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou!

Several more streams of sword energy flew forward and the remaining combat puppets were defeated as well.

After defeating all the combat puppets, the spiritual light within Chen Feng’s eyes flared and he rampaged about. Even Liu Wuxiang, who was trapped inside the great array, could sense the swift and forceful atmosphere coming from Chen Feng’s eyes.

This guy! His cultivation base has risen so quickly! Liu Wuxiang felt shocked.

“Here!”

Chen Feng finally found an array core. He swiftly hurled the Dragon Tiger Seal in his hand forward to smash the array core.

As the Dragon Tiger Seal was smashing down, a massive and monstrous-looking hand promptly emerged from the array core. With a slap, it sent the Dragon Tiger Seal flying.

“I’ve been waiting for you!” Chen Feng slashed down with his sword. This was a move that Chen Feng had been preparing for a long time. Next, 10,000 layers of sword light stacked up and fused as one before furiously slashing down on the monstrous hand.

Blood sprayed out as the monstrous hand was cleaved apart by the sword light. Chen Feng rapidly followed it up with a forward stab, causing a booming sound to ring out and the lands quaked. Chen Feng had broken one of the array cores there.

“Good! We’ll be able to leave soon!” Liu Wuxiang cried out in delight.

Suddenly, two more monstrous hands appeared. The two monstrous hands were of genuine flesh and blood. They contained formidable blood energy while their surface was covered with spiritual energy. Meanwhile, the sharpness of their nails was comparable to that of the Steel Enigma Sword in Chen Feng’s hand.

Just what are these things? The Steel Enigma Sword in Chen Feng’s hand clashed with the monstrous hands a few times and the resulting sound was like that of clashing metal. By Chen Feng’s estimate, the two monstrous hands could easily crush even an Immortal artifact.

It must be a unique extra-terrestrial creature. Chen Feng then relied on his speed to evade the monstrous hands’ attacks and clashed with them a few times.

Since he had managed to break one of the array cores, Chen Feng planned on fleeing once Liu Wuxiang’s team emerged. This was a troubling period of time. Thus, Chen Feng did not want to bring even more troubles down on himself.

However, after spending some time fighting the two monstrous hands, Chen Feng noticed that Liu Wuxiang and his team members had yet to emerge and he became anxious.

“Brother Liu, are you still not going to come out?” Chen Feng shouted loudly. By then, Chen Feng could already see more combat puppets appearing. Facing both the combat puppets and the two monstrous hands, Chen Feng finally felt pressured.

“I really want to come out, but I cannot! You need to break another array core!” Liu Wuxiang responded, a bitter smile on his face.

“What?!”

Chen Feng responded with a shout, the Dragon Tiger Seal positioned before him. With a swing, one of the monstrous hands knocked it aside. At the same time, Chen Feng displayed the stacked sword energy move once more. Like waves, the stack of sword energy converged and its power multiplied.

This time, however, the attack only managed to leave a bloody mark on the monstrous hand.

Chen Feng’s brows twitched. He was aware of just how powerful that sword attack was. Using the black-armoured cultivators he encountered during his tribulation as a standard, that move would have easily and instantly killed off three of the black-armoured cultivators.

The other monstrous hand moved forward, grasping at Chen Feng. As a result, the surrounding space became compressed and it locked down on Chen Feng’s aura, making it impossible for him to evade.

“Fine! Let me test the strength of these monstrous hands!”
