《Everlasting》Chapter 901 The Curtain Falls

“Someone from Eternal World? I don’t think so.” Someone else spoke up.
“Senior Chaos Heaven, what do you mean?” Chen Feng asked smilingly.
“I mean, you are not necessarily a cultivator from our Eternal World,” the Ascendant Immortal, Rakshasa Chaos Heaven said.
“Oh, so you don’t want me to participate in this Planar War? That suits me just fine. You should know, I have plenty of affairs to attend to. Not wasting any time is for the best.” Chen Feng shook his head and ignored him.
“You mean to say that the Planar War is a waste of time?” However, Chen Feng’s words ended up triggering the displeasure of some other Ascendant Immortals.
“Is it not? It is just the game played by some high-level people,” Chen Feng said.
“This is not a game. It is training, a very important training for our entire world of cultivation.”
“Fine, whatever you say. For me, participating in this or not will not really affect me. If I participate in it, I will just end up killing more people. I don’t really want to do that anyways.”
“Everyone, please continue on with your discussion. I will take my leave first. By the way, I will say this first. My East Dragon Island will not be sending any cultivators for training.” After saying that, Chen Feng swiftly left.
In the past, Chen Feng had felt some interest towards the Planar War. However, after understanding the real reason for it, he felt amused by it.
Participating in the Planar War meant nothing to Chen Feng. For him, the advantage of participating in the Planar War was that he would be able to meet the genius cultivators from the other worlds. Of course, by battling them, he would be able to train himself. Only, Chen Feng’s territory was located within the boundless ocean region. His subordinates had to face battles with the other ocean forces everyday as they fought to expand their territory. This was also a form of training.
That said, Chen Feng was aware that he was most likely incapable of avoiding such a large-scale war. No matter how you cut it, East Dragon Island was a considerably powerful force, capable of mustering quite the army. While the Ascendant Immortals might be willing to overlook Chen Feng’s decision to not participate, they would not do the same for East Dragon Island.
Naturally, if Chen Feng were to insist on not having East Dragon Island participate, the Ascendant Immortals were unlikely to force the issue.
That was how Chen Feng viewed the matter. However, for most of the cultivators in the world of cultivation, to be qualified to join the Planar War was a form of honour.
Not every cultivator could participate in this war. The ones picked to join the war were the elites.
After leaving, Chen Feng did not stop moving. Instead, he quickly headed towards Extreme Celestial Sect, not stopping for anything.
After arriving, Chen Feng saw that the entire Extreme Celestial Sect was in a state of chaos. The Extreme Celestial Mountains had returned to the ground, occupying the same place as it had before. Only, the damage inflicted upon it during the earlier battle was simply too great.

The damaged mountains, buildings and magic arrays were not the most important issue. The most important issue here was the casualties they suffered. It was simply too high.
Although the sect was not destroyed, it had become badly battered. It was, in all honesty, in even worse state than Nine Firmaments Palace. If it weren’t for the reinforcements that Chen Feng had brought over, it would have been even worse for them. Rather, a complete sect extermination might even be possible.
Chen Feng first went looking for the cultivators he brought over. After finding them, his face darkened somewhat.
“As expected, there are still some casualties in the end.” Chen Feng sighed.
“It’d be weird if there aren’t any casualties.” Jian Xiaotian walked over.
“The number of casualties on our side can already be considered very small. Though, most of them are the water yaos under you. By the way, who are the four fellows who appeared just now? They look really powerful.”
“The big bosses of the Four Holylands,” Chen Feng answered casually.
“Chen Feng!”
“Young Master!”
It was then that Ye Tian, Lu Ta, the Pot Brothers, Knight Yaoblade and the others came over. When they saw Chen Feng, they revealed looks of delight.
Looking at them all, Chen Feng revealed a delighted expression as well.
These people were his earliest friends and subordinates. With a glance, Chen Feng was able to determine their cultivation bases. Although Ye Tian and the others had yet to reach the Human Immortal stage, Chen Feng was still satisfied to see how far they had come.
At any rate, back when Chen Feng left them, their cultivation bases were still very low. Some had only just entered the Sky Human stage while some were still at the Concealed stage.
At that very moment, however, most of them were already very close to the Human Immortal stage. That was especially true of Knight Yaoblade and Big Pot Bro. They were already on the brink of undergoing their tribulation.
They had been cultivating inside an Immortal artifact. Truth be told, this rate of cultivation can be considered very slow. That said, their cultivation bases were very stable.
However, now that I have returned, I must definitely have them all advance to the Human Immortal stage as soon as possible, Chen Feng thought.
The reason why Chen Feng could think that was because he had enough cultivation resources on him.
Speaking of which, although the Pot Brothers and the rest had been cultivating inside the Immortal artifact all these years, the Immortal artifact itself was just an empty shell. It did not contain much in terms of cultivation resources. Its biggest advantage were the remnant essence aura and others like that within it.
“Good! I finally get to see you guys again. It’s good to see that all of you are doing all right.” Chen Feng stepped forward to stop the Pot Brothers from saluting him.
“Young Master, to think that you have actually reached such a high level! How shocking!” Big Pot Bro said in amazement.
“It’s a long story. I got this far by surviving many near-death situations. Where’s my master?” Chen Feng waved it off. He did not want to talk about that right now.

“He was wounded. So, he is resting right now,” Big Pot Bro said.
“Come, bring me to him.”
Hearing that his master was wounded, Chen Feng did not let anything delay him. Following Big Pot Bro and the others, he then found Sage Enigma Flame.
“Ha ha ha! My apprentice is here! Come, come meet my apprentice! Let me tell you fellows, if it weren’t for my apprentice, bringing reinforcements over, our Extreme Celestial Sect would have been destroyed. In other words, my apprentice is the biggest contributor here!” Upon seeing Chen Feng, Sage Enigma Flame instantly laughed loudly.
Hearing him laugh, Chen Feng then knew that the old man was fine and he reflexively breathed a sigh of relief.
“Greetings, master!” Chen Feng stepped forward and saluted courteously.
“Ha ha ha! My good apprentice, there’s no need for that!” Sage Enigma Flame said proudly.
“By the way, old man. Was there a need for you to go all out?” Chen Feng sent him a secret vocal transmission.
“Humph! Can I not? I can only blame myself for being a member of this sect. By the way, kid. Isn’t your rate of cultivation too fast? Did you come across some good fortune?”
“Let’s talk about that later. I’ll help you heal up first.”
Chen Feng stretched his hand and a stream of longevity-type primary energy flowed into Sage Enigma Flame’s body. Next, a series of dull sounds rang out and the wounds on Sage Enigma Flame’s body quickly healed up.
Chen Feng did not stop there. He continued sending stream after stream of longevity-type primary energy into the bodies of Old Freak Ming, Old Freak Cang and the others who were beside his master.
Those people possessed the highest cultivation levels there. Due to that, they were also the ones with the greatest number of injuries. Still, as they were only starter-level Human Immortals, Chen Feng’s longevity-type primary energy was able to easily heal them all.
“Greetings, fellow seniors!”
Chen Feng turned around to greet the surrounding cultivators. They were the disciples and elders of Extreme Celestial Sect. Some were Chen Feng’s old acquaintances. Seeing Chen Feng, they would take the initiative to greet him. They all seemed happy to see him.
“No, no! This time, we owe it all to Brother Chen… Senior Brother Chen. Thank you for bringing help over.”
It was then that they realized that they didn’t know how they should address Chen Feng. In the end, they addressed him as senior brother.
“I am a disciple of Extreme Celestial Sect, after all. Helping at a time like this is only natural. There is no need to mention it.” Chen Feng smiled.
“Chen Feng, do you still remember us?” A few more cultivators came over. They were none other than Lei Batian, Hua Zhuliu and the others.
“Brother Lei, Brother Hua. What do you mean? You fellows helped me out back then, how could I forget you all? Once the current situation has been settled, we’ll get together for a few rounds of wine,” Chen Feng said smilingly.
“Then it’s settled!”
“For sure!”
Truth be told, they did not have much time for chatting. Extreme Celestial Sect had only just gone through a major war and the entire Extreme Celestial Mountains was in a messed-up state. Cultivators who still had the ability to fight were all busy. They had practically no free time at all.
Even the higher-ups of Extreme Celestial Sect were so busy that they could only send some men to receive Chen Feng’s group and make arrangements for them. The Sect Master, Wan Jiecheng, sent Chen Feng a secret vocal transmission, asking him to wait for a few more days.
Chen Feng didn’t mind. After thanking the person who came to receive him, he instructed his men to help Extreme Celestial Sect clean up the battlefield.
There was no telling just how long it would take to clean up the whole place. One month later, Wan Jiecheng led several Earthen Immortals forward to visit Chen Feng.
That was correct. It was a visit. It also showed how important Chen Feng was to Extreme Celestial Sect.
After meeting, Wan Jiecheng first thanked Chen Feng on behalf of Extreme Celestial Sect. Next, he apologized for the shameful events of the past. Finally, Wan Jiecheng had to leave for other matters, but he left several Earthen Immortals to keep Chen Feng company.
Firstly, there were matters that required Wan Jiecheng’s attention. Secondly, and most importantly, Wan Jiecheng himself felt that he was no longer on the same level as Chen Feng. The display of might from Chen Feng this time had spread across the entire Northern Plains. Even the matter of him beating back an Ascendant Immortal had spread out like wildfire.
Even the average Earthen Immortal would feel mentally pressured when facing Chen Feng, let alone Wan Jiecheng.
“There is no need to stand on ceremony. I am a disciple of Extreme Celestial Sect, after all.” Chen Feng secretly sighed. He had said that many times already.
“No one can treat you as an ordinary disciple now. You see? Even Wan Jiecheng felt the need to leave.” The one speaking was a high-level Earthen Immortal, known as Patron Extreme Enigma. He displayed a very good disposition and attitude. As he was wounded in the war, his face appeared somewhat pale. However, he maintained a very calm demeanour.
Pondering for a moment, Chen Feng finally asked, “Fellow seniors, don’t our Extreme Celestial Sect have any Ascendant Immortals?”
In the war, Nine Firmaments Palace was supported by the Ascendant Immortals from the Immortal Plane, Heavenly Premier Ninelink and his two buddies and even a clone of a mid-level Ascendant Immortal from the Immortal Plane. The difference between the two sides was simply too big.
“Truth be told, our sect does have Ascendant Immortals. Additionally, there is more than one.” Patron Extreme Enigma pondered the question for a moment before answering.
“More than one?”
“It is said that our sect should have three Ascendant Immortals. The Heavenly Premiers Extreme Celestial, Extreme Clarity and Jade Sun. However, they entered a danger zone and have not returned since. We are unable to obtain a single piece of news about them. Who knows if they are still alive or not?” Patron Extreme Enigma said with a frown.

This is my third novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the second being "The Dawnfire Archives". This story is something of a test in a new genre, that of CardLIT. We'll see how well it succeeds as the story continues. It takes place in a different setting than my other tales, with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

The Records of Eternity: The Traveller of Worlds
There probably won't be anything much for Traveller for the next while as I honestly don't have much of an idea of what the hell I plan on doing. While I wait for another spark of genius for this I want to get out some chapters for my other works, which I do have an idea of where I want to go. So instead of stressing myself out over this bottleneck, I will be focusing on other stories until I breakthrough. The Traveller of Worlds is a tale that tells the adventure of the young Saxon girl Millie Von Augustine, though she has another name. Millie is the eldest child of the Augustine family, a noble family in the Kingdom of Saxony. Although being a woman she was barred from succeeding her father as head of the family. In addition, she has been treated rather poorly by most of her family due to her tomboyish personality. Moving this to have a new chapter at a minimum of every three weeks as I have started another project full time. The cover artwork was made by Nez Illust, check their page for more their stuff.
