《Everlasting》Chapter 882 Ambushed

After mustering up his forces, Chen Feng decided to head to Heavenly Sword Faction. Regardless if he could obtain additional forces from Heavenly Sword Faction or not, Chen Feng also planned on using the teleportation array in Heavenly Sword Faction to teleport to the Northern Plains.
Of course, before heading there, Chen Feng had utilized East Dragon Island’s teleportation array to head to Heavenly Sword Faction.
When he was utilizing the teleportation array, however, an ambush was sprung.
Chen Feng had only just stepped into the teleportation array when it suddenly activated. Before Chen Feng could even respond, the resulting bright light had already teleported him away.
Chen Feng’s figure re-appeared in an unfamiliar place.
Unexpectedly, I would be ambushed in East Dragon Island. Chen Feng revealed a wry smile. Grasping, the Heaven Piercing Lance appeared in his hand. Without even looking around, he thrust the lance forward.
Boom!
A booming sound reverberated outward as a 10,000-zhang-tall mountain was shattered to pieces.
I wonder who is targeting me. However, I will be finding that out soon enough. The lance in Chen Feng’s hand continued to rampage about and two more mountains were utterly levelled.
It was then that Chen Feng noticed it. There was something special about his surroundings.
One mountain after another rose up around him, going as far as the horizon and they were all connected. Looking around, Chen Feng saw that there was a total of 99 mountains, including the ones he had destroyed earlier. All of them had a height of 10,000 zhang, towering tall to exude an atmosphere of power.
Waves of energy moved swiftly through the interconnected mountains before turning towards the central position. This central position was none other than the spot where Chen Feng had appeared in.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The lands rumbled as another three mountains emerged to replace the three mountains that Chen Feng destroyed earlier.
Instantly, the 99 mountains became connected, forming an incredibly powerful array. Wave after wave of power stacked together ceaselessly, like rivers flowing down through the mountains before swirling towards Chen Feng in the end.
“I don’t have time to be playing with you fellows. I have some urgent business to attend to.”
Given the present situation, Chen Feng simply had neither the desire nor time to investigate them. He immediately attacked.
Sou! Sou!
The Heaven Piercing Lance in his hand stabbed forward once more and two rivers were sliced. Next, Chen Feng kicked, wanting to fly up. Suddenly, an invisible force descended upon him to press him down.
3,000 times.
5,000 times.
10,000 times.
Chen Feng finally felt greatly pressured. With a thrumming sound, the Domain Geocompass appeared to protect Chen Feng, helping him block part of the power pressing down on him.
There are 99 mountains. I need to destroy them all to get out. Chen Feng stabbed with the Heaven Piercing Lance again.
This time, he was only barely able to break the mountain before him into two.
It had only been several breaths’ worth of time, but the hardness of the surrounding mountains had increased tenfold. Not to mention, they were still quickly growing stronger.
Each of the 99 mountains is controlled by a Human Immortal. There are also grand dao powers involved. Is it due to Dao artefacts or Earthen Immortals?

“You fellows sure are putting a lot of effort into this. In order to deal with me, you are actually mobilizing so many men? I am flattered!” Chen Feng’s voice spread out.
Chen Feng was certain that the other party would be able to hear him.
However, his voice was the only thing echoing within the mountains. There was no reply.
Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou!
Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou!
Light streaked through space as 99 sword beams flashed forward. The space there became like a piece of cloth, cut open by the 99 sword beams.
The sword beams were all targeting Chen Feng. Seemingly with a life of its own, every one of the sword beams shot towards the vital points on Chen Feng’s body.
In the end, all the sword beams came to a halt as they all struck Chen Feng. A perfunctory glance would reveal that Chen Feng had become like a porcupine.
In truth, however, a thick barrier encased Chen Feng and all the sword beams were embedded into the barrier.
There were 99 sword beams and every single one of them contained the grand dao of metal, seemingly capable of destroying everything in its path. Even so, they had failed to pierce through the barrier protecting Chen Feng.
This barrier had come from the Longevity Tower.
Weng!
Yet another 99 sword beams shot out from the 99 mountain peaks. This time, they contained the soft power of the grand dao of water.
This power was completely different from the previous metal-type sword beams. However, the destructive and invasive power of this wave of sword beams was even higher.
And yet, they had still failed to pierce through the barrier protecting Chen Feng.
Sou! Sou! Sou! Sou!
Sword beams shot out from each of the mountain peaks without respite, totalling up to nine waves. Every one of the waves contained its own unique grand dao.
Metal, water, lightning, wind, darkness, fire, light, shadow and wood.
The sword beams stuck on the barrier looked like arrows and they did not dissipate away. Instead, they remained there to completely block vision of Chen Feng’s figure.
These fellows set up a trap for me in my own territory and mobilized so many Human Immortals. Did they not figure out beforehand that I have Immortal artefacts? Chen Feng felt puzzled. If the other party was truly in the dark about Chen Feng possessing Immortal artefacts, this whole incident would be a complete joke.
Regardless of who the other party was or how much they knew about him, the fact that they were taking action against him was as clear as day. Additionally, Chen Feng was also in a hurry to help Extreme Celestial Sect. Thus, he did not have much time to be getting entangled with them.
Due to that, Chen Feng decided to channel all his power into his Immortal artefact for his next attack.
Boom!
Golden light flared out, making its way through the gaps between the many sword beams stuck on the barrier. It seemed as though something within it was about to explode.
Next, the sword beams – so concentrated that they had reached tangible state – began melting. The golden light seemed capable of melting everything. After melting the sword beams, it then charged out and several of the mountains in the vicinity were instantly flattened.

Sou!
Chen Feng’s figure shook before disappearing from sight, leaving only a blur in the air.
Given Chen Feng’s present level, his movement speed was practically number one amongst all beneath the Earthen Immortal stage. Of course, the reason why Earthen Immortals were strong was because they had cultivated out their own grand dao powers. This was the fundamental aspect – and most important one – of the Earthen Immortal stage.
Bang!
Golden light flashed forward again and two mountains were destroyed in quick succession. A cultivator jumped out from one of the mountains. However, before he could even utter a cry, the golden light had engulfed him.
The golden light had come from the Heaven Piercing Lance in Chen Feng’s hand.
The Heaven Piercing Lance contained pure power of metal, an elemental power with the strongest offensive force.
Another cultivator managed to make it out alive. Fear filled his face as he attempted to flee only for Chen Feng to catch up to him. With a stab of his lance, the cultivator was sent flying.
The Human Immortal had taken an attack from an Immortal artefact. Even in the best-case scenario, his soul would be annihilated.
I’m utilizing Immortal artefacts to kill Human Immortals. Is this too much of a bullying act?
Still, these fellows are the ones who ambushed me. They also hold the numerical advantage. Their actions are the equivalent of bullying others as well. When you look at it that way, me using an Immortal artefact against them is acceptable.
Fair is fair. If they don’t like it, they can come fight me in a one-on-one duel. Naturally, they must be at the same cultivation stage as me.
As Chen Feng mumbled to himself, he rapidly unleashed one move after another. Every move he made would result in the destruction of one or two mountains, forcing the cultivators inside to reveal themselves. Those who were too slow to flee would die to the attacks while those who were fast enough to flee would be chased down and killed.
As for the attacks from them, they were all blocked by the Longevity Tower. Thus, they were simply incapable of wounding Chen Feng in the slightest.
“The intel is wrong! He possesses an Immortal artefact! Hurry, run!”
As Chen Feng was attacking, he intercepted that message. Following that, he sped up and increased the ferocity behind his attacks. He stopped killing every cultivator he found. Instead, he chose to capture two alive.
In the end, of the 99 Human Immortals there, Chen Feng killed 20 and captured 2. As for the others, they fled. Chen Feng did not pursue them.
Along the way, Chen Feng also managed to collect four mid-grade Dao artefacts. The power coursing through the 99 mountains had come from the Dao artefacts. That was why the attacks they unleashed could contain grand dao powers.
Although I was ambushed, I did manage to gain something in the end. I can either break these Dao artefacts down or extract the grand dao powers within them and fuse what I get with my other magic treasures. Or perhaps, I should just devour their powers. After pondering the issue, Chen Feng then turned his attention towards the two cultivators he had captured.
Despite their situation, the two captives did not reveal a hint of panic. Instead, they stayed calm, showing no fear towards death.
These fellows must be trained assassins.
Chen Feng began searching their souls. The two captives were only mid-level Human Immortals. Additionally, they were already restrained. Thus, Chen Feng was able to easily search their seas of wisdom.
Killer Palace, Assassin Palace, Shadow Palace and Void Palace. Tsk, tsk. This is a trap laid out by the four top assassin organizations. Each of them provided a Dao artefact for this. Looks like they think quite highly of me. However, the most important thing here is that they were unaware that I possess Immortal artefacts.
If I didn’t have any Immortal artefacts on me, this trap would definitely be enough to kill me off.
It’s strange. The only one I have a grudge against is Killer Palace. To think that the other three would get involved as well. Looks like someone must have paid a hefty price for this. It is most probably Nine Firmaments Palace, right?
These assassin organizations are very strong. I’ll deal with the Nine Firmaments Palace matter first. Although the assassins are only doing their job, they have attacked me many times. I cannot just overlook this.
Not to mention, I have killed so many of their assassins. They will not let me off either.
Next up, Chen Feng inspected his surroundings and found that he was still in the Central Plains. It was only 50,000 kilometres away from East Dragon Island. It would appear that the assassins were only capable of bringing him this far.
A distance of 50,000 kilometres was nothing for Chen Feng and it did not take long before he made his way back to East Dragon Island.
Seeing Chen Feng return, they all grew relieved. Then, they began entering the teleportation array, which brought them to Heavenly Sword Faction.
Heavenly Sword Faction’s teleportation square…
Group after group of cultivators poured out from the teleportation array, each and every one of them radiating a formidable aura. Seeing that alarmed the disciples who were on guard duty.
The faces on the disciples sank sharply. Although they were fairly experienced fellows, the number of cultivators coming out from the teleportation array was simply too high. Most importantly, they were all strong. There were over 300 Human Immortals! Generally speaking, cultivators at this level would often act alone. The only time so many of them would be gathered together was when there was a large-scale war.
Thankfully, some of them recognized Chen Feng. If it weren’t for that, chaos would have broken loose. That said, Heavenly Sword Faction had still fallen into a slight state of chaos.
