This stream of power was both formidable and tough, with an offensive power seemingly capable of piercing through everything. It quickly shot into Chen Feng’s sea of wisdom. However, upon entering the sea of wisdom, it was not given the chance to do anything before Chen Feng extinguished it.

Chen Feng utilized the Soul Subduing Mantra and invisible waves of power made their way into the fire demon’s body.

The Soul Subduing Mantra that Chen Feng utilized was several levels higher compared to the attack that the fire demon had unleashed earlier. Thus, upon receiving this attack from Chen Feng, the fire demon abruptly shook and the flames on its body kept flickering, seemingly on the verge of extinguishing.

It was no longer capable of attacking with its flaming trident.

“Soul Subduing Mantra!”

Chen Feng made use of the opportunity to fire out another Soul Subduing Mantra and the fire demon fell into a dazed state.

“Explode!”

The Soul Refining Mantra, Soul Anchor Mantra and Soul Lock Mantra were launched successively into the fire demon’s body. Next, the fire demon began swelling before blowing up into chaotic streams of energy.

Chen Feng then opened his mouth and absorbed all the streams of energy. That was a fire demon formed from Soulflames. Devouring these energy streams would allow Chen Feng to strengthen his own Soulflame.

This was a great supplementary item for Chen Feng, who quickly refined and absorbed the chaotic streams of energy. As expected, after doing so, he felt his Soulflame becoming even stronger.

Other cultivators could also do this. However, they would not have been able to do it as easily as Chen Feng. At any rate, Chen Feng had cultivated the Demonic Heavengorging Art and Heavengulping Absorption Technique. Those two were monstrous, Heaven-defying techniques, giving him an easier time breaking apart, refining and absorbing the energy streams.

Naturally, absorbing too much of such items would certainly influence him somewhat.

Take the present Chen Feng for example. Having tasted the sweetness of the act, he began searching for more fire demons to devour. For Chen Feng, fire demons were far more valuable compared to the other creatures. The Soulflames used to form the fire demons could help Chen Feng increase his cultivation base by leaps and bounds.

Finally, after devouring over 100 fire demons, Chen Feng stopped. Chen Feng’s Soulflame had become very strong, 30% stronger than before. However, there were many impurities within it. This was already Chen Feng’s limit.

Thus, he stopped and began refining it to become Primary Flame. After refining it over 100 times, he managed to get rid of almost all the impurities within the Soulflame [1].

Naturally, Chen Feng would still need to constantly refine his Soulflame as he continued with his path of cultivation.

After Chen Feng spent some time on cultivating his Soulflame, it became smaller but purer and more concise. The power of life and destruction within it grew stronger as well.

The power of life was Chen Feng’s vitality.

The power of destruction was the destructive power of the Soulflame.

It was not simply the power of life and death.

Next up, Chen Feng began to secretly cultivate himself as he advanced. Whenever he encountered fire demons, he would capture them, occasionally devouring one or two.

Earlier, Chen Feng had met three cultivators in a underground blood fiend chamber. All three possessed Dao artefacts and formidable cultivation bases. They were all peak-level Human Immortals.

The three of them joined forces to kill off a high number of blood fiends, demon souls and other such creatures.

Chen Feng, on the other hand, had come in search of fire demons. Coincidentally, there was a group of high-level fire demons there. Thus, Chen Feng entered the underground chamber and began a bloodbath as he began capturing the creatures there wantonly.

The three cultivators from Artefact Sect were not happy to see that. However, noticing Chen Feng’s formidable cultivation base, they did not try to trouble him. They simply inquired Chen Feng about his background.

Naturally, there was no way Chen Feng could say that he was from Artefact Sect. Thus, he said, “Holyland.”

Due to that, the three cultivators from Artefact Sect instantly showed a look of respect, becoming more courteous towards him.

In Domain World, Artefact Sect was a top-tier power, but the Holyland was unquestionably an apex power.

When faced with Artefact Sect, other cultivators would show fear and back away. However, in the face the Holyland, there was only respect.

The three cultivators also did not doubt Chen Feng. His display of strength had thoroughly overwhelmed them.

After having obtained what he wanted, Chen Feng swiftly left. He did not get involved with the three cultivators.

Chen Feng continued moving, only stopping after he was half a million kilometres away from the place.

The reason he stopped was because there was a fight going on. It was not a fight between cultivators and the creatures here. Rather, it was a fight between the cultivators from Domain World and Eternal World.

There were ten plus people on either side and they were evenly matched. Appearance wise, they had been fighting each other for quite some time, leading to casualties on both sides. However, it seemed as though there was a great hatred between the two sides and they were planning on continuing the fight.

Giving it a glance, Chen Feng instantly knew what was happening.

Firstly, they were from different worlds. Thus, a conflict would arise once the two sides made contact. Secondly, there was a corpse lying not far away from them.

Upon seeing the corpse, Chen Feng instantly knew why these fellows would fight with such ferocity.

That’s actually the corpse of a Yao Immortal! Although it has been eroded by time, it is still exuding a formidable aura of majesty. Grand dao powers are still flowing through the bones.

That’s no ordinary Yao Immortal. It is already very close to the Yao Overlord stage.

A good item! No wonder these fellows would fight so desperately for it. Even if they only manage to get one of its bones, they will be able to refine it and fuse it with a magic treasure, increasing its power and level.

In just the blink of an eye, it charged into the midst of the battle. The might of a top-grade Dao artefact was very strong. With just a collision, several cultivators were sent flying.

“Who?!”

“Someone else has come! This fellow has a death wish!”

The two opposing sides were first taken aback. When they noticed that there was only one person, though, they quickly flew into a fit of rage. But then they sensed the power of the Deepsea Maelstrom, and they grew wary again.

A top-grade Dao artefact was not easy to deal with.

“Attack together! Let’s deal with this fellow first.”

The cultivators from the two worlds quickly came to a decision, to finish off this outsider first.

The two sides had been fighting one another for a long time in order to obtain this corpse. How could they allow a third party to snatch it away?

These cultivators were also in possession of Dao artefacts. Thus, it was possible for them to stop Chen Feng’s attack. Only, Chen Feng had come prepared. Not to mention, he was launching a sneak attack against them. Without an Immortal artefact, they would be incapable of stopping Chen Feng’s ferocious attacks.

The reason for that was because Chen Feng was also deploying other magic treasures for this.

The Deepsea Maelstrom swept past them to create a path. Next, the Aquafire Lance streaked forward.

As a top-grade Dao artefact, the Aquafire Lance’s offensive power was in no way inferior compared to the Deepsea Maelstrom. Rather, it was even better.

Thus, the cultivators who charged forward were instantly sent flying.

Chen Feng had no intentions of killing them off. He just wanted to beat them back. Naturally, there was no way he could avoid wounding them somewhat.

After charging forward, Chen Feng successfully reached the corpse of the Yao Immortal. A water current surged forth and the corpse was pulled into the centre of the Deepsea Maelstrom.

Next, the Deepsea Maelstrom spun rapidly and it instantly flashed away, covering a distance of 50,000 kilometres in just a few flashes.

With that, Chen Feng disappeared before the cultivators could fully recollect themselves. As for those that had charged forward earlier and were knocked back, they crawled back up in a miserable manner.

The faces of the cultivators on both sides were very ugly to behold. Speaking of which, they were all pinnacle characters in their respective worlds. Unexpectedly, they would end up suffering from such a big loss while someone else reaped the benefits instead. Worse, they had failed to even see how this person looked like. All they saw was a maelstrom and a lance. And then, the corpse of the Yao Immortal had disappeared.

Due to what happened, it was only natural that the two sides would stop fighting. They glared at each other before leaving the place. Before the Planar War began, they would not go all out at each other for nothing. Especially not when both sides were evenly matched.

Unbeknownst to them all, a pondering look had flashed across the face of one amongst the cultivators from Eternal World.

A massive maelstrom. That sounds familiar. I seem to recall news of a rising star from the Central Plains. Chen Feng, the Island Lord of East Dragon Island. He possesses a magic treasure known as the Deepsea Maelstrom, also a top-grade Dao artefact.

Could there be such a coincidence?

Chen Feng was unaware that someone had recognized him based on his actions earlier. However, even if he did, he wouldn’t care.

The Yao Immortal’s corpse was worth it.

After obtaining the corpse, Chen Feng quickly took action. Expending some time and effort on it, he shattered the corpse completely, extracting all the grand dao powers from it.

In the end, Chen Feng made use of every part of the corpse. The essence of the bones and the grand dao powers were all fused into his various magic treasures.

Chen Feng also managed to extract some of the Yao Immortal’s blood essence. Even Chen Feng was shocked to find that he was able to do that.

Next up, Chen Feng continued to stay in the Planar Battlefield for nearly one year before finally finding the teleportation array leading back to Eternal World.

When he reached the teleportation array, he ended up triggering a minor incident.

The teleportation array was guarded by a group of Earthen Immortals. As Chen Feng had not utilized the formal method of entering the Planar Battlefield, he was stopped the moment he arrived. In order to ensure that he was not a spy from Domain World, they had put him through a thorough process of investigation.

That incident left Chen Feng amused. At the same time, though, he felt curious. How did Immortal Pining Butterfly make her way in back then? Perhaps, she had entered Eternal World through a spatial crack.

No matter how much Chen Feng tried to explain, it did not help. Two of them even wanted to capture him. They infuriated him so much that he nearly took action against them.

In the end, another batch of cultivators that were teleported over from Eternal World came. Some of them recognized Chen Feng and the issue was resolved.

Thanks to that, Chen Feng was able to successfully enter the teleportation array.
