The Planar Battlefield is simply too big. The area within a radius of 50,000 kilometres here can only be described with one word, desolate. Though, there are some chaotic energy streams running around.

It has served as a battlefield for countless years now. Who knows how much carnage, blood and demonic notions are hiding here? Some strange things would surely be born from this place. There could be things like blood fiends here. Also, places like this are often capable of easily producing demon souls, vengeful spirits and other death-type creatures.

Some of them could even start cultivating themselves, reaching such heights of power that allows them to kill and devour even Human Immortals. The various cultivation worlds will send some cultivators here to take care of these things. This place is regularly opened so that a high number of cultivators may come here for an adventure. Their objective for letting the cultivators enter is to clear the battlefield. However, some of the more powerful wicked creatures here would also kill and devour the cultivators to grow stronger. I hear that some blood fiends have cultivated up to the Earthen Immortal stage. I wonder if that is true?

Thoughts about the Planar Battlefield swiftly raced through Chen Feng’s mind.

Naturally, this was not the only Planar Battlefield for the various cultivation worlds. Only, every Planar Battlefield was usually connected to each and every cultivation world.

No one knew when or how the Planar Battlefields were first formed. There were no records of it, even in the oldest books of the various life-bearing worlds.

Looks like finding the way back to Eternal World will not be easy. I wonder, did Immortal Pining Butterfly use a teleportation passageway for it? Maybe she utilized a spatial crack.

Chen Feng journeyed onwards as he pondered the issue. After advancing through hundreds of thousands of li, he finally encountered some cultivators.

All of them were from Domain World. They were hunting blood fiends.

Every blood fiend was formed through the power of blood. Low-level blood fiends only possessed the power to devour while high-level blood fiends possessed spiritual attributes, giving them the ability to think on the same level as humans.

Upon developing spiritual attributes, the blood fiend’s ability will no longer be limited to simply devouring others. It would also be capable of cultivating itself. Due to that, there would be no difference between it and a cultivator and it could continue to grow ever stronger.

Chen Feng was aware. Upon stepping onto the path of cultivation, the blood fiend would become stronger than humans in certain aspects. It was a creature born from special circumstances, after all.

One of it was that it was very hard to kill.

For example, in order for humans to cultivate to the point where they can create flesh and snatch another body, they would first need to cultivate up to a high level. Normally, they would first need to reach the Earthen Immortal stage before they could do that. However, things were different for the blood fiends. Should their opponents fail to completely kill them, even the lowest-level blood fiend would be able to resurrect itself by using just a drop of its blood.

There were ten plus cultivators there in total. The strongest amongst them was at the high-level Human Immortal stage while the weakest amongst them was at the starter-level Human Immortal stage. There were none at the Sky Human stage.

Generally speaking, most of the cultivators who came here to train would be Human Immortals. While there were also Sky Human stage cultivators, such cases were rare. Additionally, they also needed to be very strong. Either that, or they needed a high number.

Most of the time, however, a high number of Sky Human stage cultivators would only enter when a war was in progress.

Teams with only single-digit number of cultivators would have a very low rate of survival in this cruel environment.

These ten plus cultivators were here to hunt for blood fiends. With the exception of a few with some special techniques, most of them were here to train themselves by fighting blood fiends and use the spoils they obtained to exchange for something else when they returned.

It did not take long before they killed off all the blood fiends there. However, none of them chose to absorb the blood energy left behind by the blood fiends.

“Ha ha ha! We killed three blood fiends again. If we can have this kind of harvest every day, I will be able to level up my treasure once we return.”

“I already have enough to exchange for a top-grade Sky-tier medicinal pill!”

“This feels too good! However, the number of blood fiends just now is too small.”

“Everyone, be careful. This is a chaotic place. Some stronger blood fiends might appear,” one of the leading cultivators said.

They had noticed Chen Feng as well, even from afar. In the beginning, they had been on guard. However, when they saw that Chen Feng was alone, they relaxed.

Although blood fiends and the other creatures here were dangerous, there were times when humans were more dangerous.

There was no telling when someone would put a knife in their backs.

“Fellow friend, how should we address you?”

Seeing Chen Feng remain there, they felt puzzled.

“Chen Feng, from Artefact Sect.”

“So, it’s a fellow cultivator from Artefact Sect. I wonder, are you interested in joining us?” Hearing that Chen Feng was from Artefact Sect shocked them. However, what shocked them the most was the fact that Chen Feng was going solo.

“I like moving alone.” Chen Feng shook his head, refusing their invitation.

Having stayed in Domain World for a few years, Chen Feng had gained a general understanding of the situation there. The cultivators before him all hailed from several famed and big sects.

Thus, Chen Feng did not want to get too acquainted with them. The Planar Battlefield was already coming and he might end up facing them then.

Even so, Chen Feng had still chosen to give them a warning.

“Fellows, it would be better to not advance any further. There are some powerful blood fiends up ahead.” After saying that, Chen Feng nodded before quickly leaving.

“Tch! So what if he is from Artefact Sect? What is there to be so proud of? Our Ice Seal Hall is not to be trifled with either!”

“Enough! He just doesn’t want to join us. Let’s move.”

They did not follow Chen Feng’s advice. Instead, they continued advancing. They had entered this Planar Battlefield for quite some time now. Although they did encounter some dangers along the way, they had managed to smoothly overcome those dangers in the end. More, they had also obtained a great deal of harvest as a result. Thus, they ignored Chen Feng’s warning. Some even scoffed at it.

Chen Feng’s divine sense enveloped a radius of tens of thousands of li. Thus, he was able to see that the cultivators had chosen to ignore his warning. But he did not choose to warn them again. Instead, he simply continued onwards on his own.

In the beginning, Chen Feng had entered this Planar Battlefield with a single purpose and that was to find the world passage to Eternal World. After entering, however, Chen Feng changed his mind. He decided on capturing some of the creatures here.

Blood fiends, demon souls, vengeful spirits. These were all highly supplementary items for Chen Feng. They could also prove useful as research materials. Having a higher level of understanding towards some strange powers could inspire Chen Feng further.

Chen Feng had already captured several blood fiends along the way, but these blood fiends were not strong. They were so weak that even the Blood Mustering Bead had no desire to devour them.

In order for the Blood Mustering Bead to level up, devouring creatures formed from the power of blood was the best. However, the Blood Mustering Bead was aiming to reach the high-grade Dao tier. The power of blood required for that had to be purer and of a higher level.

Thus, these blood fiends that were not even at the Earthen Immortal stage were simply too weak for its taste.

At that very moment, Chen Feng was speeding up. He had detected the presence of demon souls.

Compared to blood fiends, demon souls and vengeful spirits were rarer. However, they were stronger. Additionally, their means of attack were also very ghastly.

Their attacks were invisible, done without making a sound and their targets would get struck without realizing they were hit.

Blood fiends were formed from the power of blood in the battlefield.

Demon souls were formed from soul powers of dead cultivators that did not dissipate away. Only, the conditions for the formation of demon souls were very difficult to come by.

Vengeful spirits, on the other hand, were the strongest creatures to be born from the Planar Battlefield.

Under certain complex conditions, when ordinary humans without any cultivation accomplishments die while in a state of resentment, a spiritual entity filled with vengeful power would be born. It was like the ghosts that ordinary humans would speak of. These spiritual entities could even kill cultivators.

What then would happen when formidable cultivators died under those same circumstances? Naturally, the vengeful spirits born from their deaths would be extremely strong.

Of course, the birth of such creatures was very rare. It was something that could only rise from a battlefield filled with blood and malevolent energies.

Finally, Chen Feng encountered some formidable blood fiends. The weakest amongst these blood fiends was at the Human Immortal stage and tens of them surrounded Chen Feng.

However, that was not all. Chen Feng’s divine sense could sense blood energy surging underground and a malevolent energy permeated his surroundings. It felt as though more blood fiends would charge out from the ground.

The terrain here is quite good. This place is actually a type of spiritual chamber. It collects the surrounding spiritual energy and domain energy. Not to mention, it could also link up to and collect the power of earth. No wonder it could also collect blood energy to give birth to blood fiends.

However, I am not too interested in blood fiends of this level. Next, the Fire Trigram and Lightning Trigram powers shot out from Chen Feng’s body to form a blade-like weapon, which swept towards the surrounding blood fiends.

Fire and lightning were the bane of such yin and malevolent-type creatures. Thus, this attack from Chen Feng ended up eliciting wails of misery from all the blood fiends there. The wails sounded even more miserable than that of the shrieks from hell. Hearing it would cause one’s mind to fall into a state of chaos.

This time, Chen Feng could not be bothered with collecting the blood fiends. He only wanted to quickly finish off these blood fiends. He already had a target in mind, a demon soul that was hiding itself.

Due to Chen Feng’s attacks, most of the blood fiends were killed off and what remained promptly fled.

Chen Feng then stepped forward to stamp down. Power assailed the ground as a volcanic force erupted underground repeatedly. Finally, a black silhouette – the size of a fist – emerged from the ground. Transforming into a beam of black light, it swiftly fled.

“Longevity Palm!” Chen Feng grasped and palm power enveloped the surrounding space. Next, the affected space shrank and the black silhouette ended up trapped within his grasp.

Weng!

A strange wave of energy fluctuation emanated out from the black silhouette to attack Chen Feng only to be beaten down with merely a gaze.

So, this is a demon soul. The attack just now is derived from soul attack techniques. Quite unique. Chen Feng nodded and his divine sense quickly emerged to scan the demon soul.

Next, a thoughtful look appeared on Chen Feng’s face.

So, the soul can undergo such a change. Chen Feng nodded again. Compared to the complex body, the soul was even more mysterious. Only, the mystery of the soul was harder to inspect. It could only be slowly explored as one’s cultivation base rose higher and higher. Not even Ascendant Immortals and True Immortals would dare claim that they fully understood the mysteries of the soul.

Naturally, that did not mean that the fleshly body was less important compared to the soul. Only, the existence of the soul seemed more transient when compared to the existence of the body.

A pity. Its level is too low.

Shaking his head, Chen Feng then continued advancing. He had seemingly entered a strange place. Blood fiends kept appearing while demon souls would attempt to launch sneak attacks against him in secrecy. He also encountered some vengeful spirits.

Vengeful spirits were even more ghastly compared to the rest. In situations where they were on the same cultivation level as their opponents, they would prove very difficult to handle.

The vengeful spirit that Chen Feng encountered was only at the mid-level Human Immortal stage, but the attacks it displayed felt unpredictable and the force it unleashed was formidable. Its attacks were unique in that they contained a high amount of resentment, capable of affecting its opponent’s state of mind.

After reaching a certain level, the average power of fire and lightning would no longer be effective against them. Only formidable cultivators or power of fire and lightning at a higher level would be able to kill off vengeful spirits and demon souls.

Chen Feng encountered a total of three vengeful spirits. He killed one and captured one. To Chen Feng’s surprise, the third one managed to escape. While it was true that Chen Feng’s carelessness was one of the factors enabling the vengeful spirit to escape, its peculiar methods were also very strong.

Roar!

A blood fiend rapidly grew in size, opening its mouth to suck Chen Feng in. The power of blood, soul and resentment acted upon Chen Feng simultaneously.

“Break!”

Chen Feng displayed the Great Longevity Palm and grasped with it. As a result, the blood fiend blew up into a mist of blood. Next, a flickering flame flew out from Chen Feng’s palm. Quickly, a demon soul cried out wretchedly as the flame utterly incinerated it.

Following that, a beam of black light shot out from Chen Feng’s right eye and the final vengeful spirit there was pierced by it before dissipating away into nothingness.

A blood fiend, a demon soul and a vengeful spirit. The three creatures actually fused up, displaying a flawless degree of cooperation. A pity, they are simply not strong enough. Chen Feng waved his hand and the two blood fiends that had only just emerged were killed off.

Somewhere 5,000 kilometres away from Chen Feng, the group of cultivators that he encountered earlier had been surrounded. They had entered a danger zone and hundreds of blood fiends besieged them. Blood energy emerged and waves of blood surged about as more blood fiends kept appearing.

There were also demon souls who kept initiating sneak attacks against them from the dark. Behind them all, commanding their every action was a vengeful spirit. Due to this attack, some of the cultivators from the group had already died. The remaining cultivators were only holding on through sheer grit. Even so, it was just a matter of time before they were all annihilated.

They have fairly decent cultivation bases and combat powers. Only, they are lacking in high-tier secret techniques and formidable Dao artefacts.

They didn’t follow my advice earlier. Normally speaking, there is no reason for me to care about them. However, they are from Domain World. I had obtained a great deal of benefits from Domain World. That is not a good thing. As it so happens, I can take action here to alleviate some of the effects of karma. After pondering the matter briefly, Chen Feng decided to take action.

Chen Feng’s move was very simple. The Blood Mustering Bead left a bloody streak of light in the sky as it flew through 5,000 kilometres, arriving above the group of cultivators. With a light shake, hundreds of the blood fiends exploded, transformed into streams of power of blood. All of it were then absorbed into the Blood Mustering Bead.

The Blood Mustering Bead created yet another bloody streak of light through the sky to arrive back in Chen Feng’s hand.

Earlier, the Blood Mustering Bead had only killed off the blood fiends, leaving the demon souls and vengeful spirit alive. Even so, that action from Chen Feng had reduced the pressure on the cultivators by 80%. That was enough for them to survive.

This much should be enough. Next up, whether they live or die is no longer any concern of mine. Chen Feng shook his head and stepped forward, each step taking him 50 kilometres forward and he quickly disappeared from sight.
