“Brother Scarletfire, our academy had dispatch so many experts out this time. If all of them die, won’t this translate into a serious loss for the academy?” Chen Feng and Marquis Scarletfire were trailing behind and Chen Feng could not stop himself from saying, a wry smile on his face.

“Heh, it’s nothing! The Four Great Academies has too many elite students. Even if a few more dies, it will not matter,” Marquis Scarletfire replied with a snicker.

“That makes sense. At any rate, the number of cultivators in the world of cultivation is simply too high.” Chen Feng nodded.

Chen Feng and Marquis Scarletfire had not been chatting secretly and everyone there could clearly hear everything they said. Due to that, Immortal Golden Soul instantly shouted at them, “What are you two babbling about? Do you two have a death wish?”

“Immortal Golden Soul, do not worry. I will kill you off later,” Marquis Scarletfire replied with an indifferent smile. He appeared to be looking down on Immortal Golden Soul.

Chen Feng knew quite a bit about Marquis Scarletfire’s strength. Thanks to his Magic Eyes of Darkness, Chen Feng could tell that Marquis Scarletfire was highly formidable. For him, defeating Immortal Golden Soul was a very real possibility.

“It’s nothing. They are just a bunch of minor characters who cannot reach the apex. Brother Chen, there is no need to say anything else. I have my own reasons for this. At any rate, there is a conflict between me and Immortal Golden Soul.”

Due to that, Chen Feng decided not to talk too much about it. Instead, he carefully observed the lightning powers around them.

The lightning powers within the Lightning Region were very active. Their formidable power aside, they were also filled with spiritual attributes. They were harder to absorb. However, the benefits gained from absorbing and refining them was great.

After entering the Lightning Region, Chen Feng sent his divine sense out to scan the place. He found many cultivators cultivating themselves there. After absorbing some of the lightning powers there, Chen Feng stopped. The lightning powers there were not too useful for him. It would appear that he would need to venture to the Lightning Pond first.

It was then that one of the peak-level Human Immortals at the front said, “You two, go handle those lightning beasts.”

“Why should we do it?” Marquis Scarletfire was quick to respond.

Hearing Sword Immortal Azuretip’s words, some of the cultivators there snickered. The others simply looked on impassively to see what would happen next.

Marquis Scarletfire had wanted to retort again when Chen Feng secretly stopped him.

“Disobeying orders. That’s not the right thing to say. Here, we are all team mates. So, you have no right to order us to do anything. However, dealing with some minor lightning beasts is not a big deal for us,” Chen Feng said, striding forward to take the front position on the team. Seeing Chen Feng’s actions, Marquis Scarletfire had no choice but to follow suit.

“Humph! You’re just a mid-level Human Immortal. You think that you can put on airs just because you have a backer? Absolute Academy is not a place for you to be haughty,” Sword Immortal Azuretip said with a scornful smile.

By then, a group of lightning beasts had already charged towards them.

The lightning beasts coming at them were not all of the same type. However, all of them possessed the power of lightning within them. The number of lightning beasts was very high at over 1,000. However, with the exception of the three Yao Kings leading them, the others were only at the Great Yao stage.

“They want to plot against me. However, what they do not know is that I am also looking for an opportunity to plot against them. Besides, this is my first time here. I am not too familiar with the Lightning Region. Having them help me explore this place is a good thing.” Chen Feng smiled.

“You sure are insidious. However, those fellows are not to be underestimated either. Be careful.”

“If they anger me, I will just have to kill them off directly.” Suddenly, killing intent rose up from Chen Feng.

“Truth be told, there are no formidable lightning beasts here. Only after entering the Lightning Pond will we encounter lightning beasts that are strong. “You cannot rest! Head directly into the Lightning Pond!” Sword Immortal Azuretip shouted.

“Fine, you fellows go ahead. The two of us need to rest for a while,” Marquis Scarletfire said lazily.

Chen Feng smirked and stopped as well.

“Looks like the two of you want to disobey our orders. Immortal Golden Soul, Immortal Earthslip, you two go capture Chen Feng and Marquis Scarletfire,” Sword Immortal Azuretip said.

“No problem.” A ferocious grin flashed across the faces of both Immortal Golden Soul and Immortal Earthslip. Next, their auras burst outwards as they made ready to attack Chen Feng and Marquis Scarletfire.
