《I Am Overlord》Chapter 734: Revenge Is Here

A massive amount of attacks rained down. Even a peak Emperor would have to flee facing these attacks. Naturally, Xiang Shaoyun forced himself to withstand them. Like a gust of wind, he drifted backward while speaking tough words, "Remember what you did today. In the future, the Overlord Legion will repay you."
He knew very well the Overlord Legion needed to continue growing. They also needed to recruit more powerful geniuses to hold the fort. Otherwise, everyone would think they were weaklings that could be bullied.
The Crushing Sky was not willing to let him go. They pursued and attacked him unrelentingly. However, Xiang Shaoyun was too fast. If he wanted to leave, they wouldn't be able to stop him. Just like that, he slipped away right before their eyes.
After catching her breath, An Lulu ignored her injuries and shouted in the direction Xiang Shaoyun had fled, "Xiang Shaoyun, I won't spare you! Just you wait!"
The resentment-filled voice resounded everywhere. After fleeing from them, Xiang Shaoyun did not leave the restricted space immediately. It was not that he did not want to leave but that the direction in which he escaped was not the direction of the exit. He had to find a different way out.
Naturally, he also wanted to try searching for more gleamstar water. After all, nobody would hate having too much gleamstar water. Now that he was traveling all alone, Xiang Shaoyun was much more at ease.
The chaotic force fields couldn't do much to him. Not even the horned shell monsters posed him any threat. He could also preemptively detect any danger he couldn't withstand and take a detour.
In such a manner, he traveled for three days. In his travels, he also encountered several other factions. However, they had no conflicts because he kept a distance from them.

Perhaps it was due to the passage of time, but the restricted space was becoming more and more unstable. The power of the force fields was also becoming increasingly terrifying. Any place could explode at any moment.
On the fourth day, he encountered the group led by Shang Jifeng. They were able to preserve much of their manpower, but they had been rather unlucky, as they had not managed to obtain many gains yet.
Xiang Shaoyun was prepared to bring them away. He even told them that he already had enough gleamstar water to share with everyone. They were greatly pleased and no longer bothered staying. Listening to Xiang Shaoyun, they started leaving.
Xiang Shaoyun took the lead and constantly scouted ahead as he sighed inwardly, I'm afraid this place will be completely destroyed in less than five days.
He increased his speed and reminded everyone to focus. He also told them they couldn't stay here any longer. Shortly after, they discovered a large-scale battle happening not far ahead.
Xiang Shaoyun was the first to sense what was going on. It turned out the Glacier Palace people were fighting some non-humans. As the Glacier Palace was lacking in numbers, they were suppressed by the non-humans, who had the numerical superiority. There were already a few deaths among the humans, and the others of them had suffered injuries of differing degrees.
With a wave of his hand, Xiang Shaoyun commanded, "Go, back up the Glacier Palace."
He took the lead and charged, rapidly arriving behind a non-human. He killed his target mercilessly.
"With this overlord here, you non-humans may no longer bully my fellow disciples!" Xiang Shaoyun roared as he charged into the midst of the battlefield while activating the profundity of powers.
The profundity of powers allowed one to manipulate the powers in a godly fashion, enhancing the destructiveness of one's attack. The moment Xiang Shaoyun attacked, he sowed chaos among the non-humans.

The people from the Overlord Legion then arrived. With their arrival, the non-humans lost all their advantage and were forced to retreat gloomily. The leader of this Glacier Palace group was not Han Chenfei. Rather, it was a different disciple called He Pai, a third-stage Dragon Ascension Realm cultivator. He Pai had long known about the secret alliance between the Overlord Legion and the Glacier Palace. Even so, he still felt great gratitude for the help.
"Alright, now is not the time to converse. Leave with me. This place will collapse soon," Xiang Shaoyun said.
He Pai nodded. "Ok. We meant to leave as well."
And just like that, more than 10 people joined Xiang Shaoyun's group. He thought he could leave smoothly, but near the exit, he encountered Ouyang Chuanqi, who was similarly trying to leave. He brought with him bad news.
"A group from your Overlord Legion was trapped by the Di Alliance. If you don't help them, I'm afraid things will end very badly for them," said Ouyang Chuanqi.
Xiang Shaoyun's face turned ghastly. He had been expecting the Di Alliance to do something, and now, they had finally made their move. They were trapping his subordinates, but he was their actual target.
Di Lin, let us end this once and for all in here, thought Xiang Shaoyun inwardly.
Just as he brought his men to help the trapped group, he encountered Li Haonan, who was escaping with severe injuries.
"Li Haonan, what happened to you guys exactly?" Xiang Shaoyun asked.
"Overlord, the Di Alliance ambushed us and trapped our brothers. I was sent to look for you. They said that you could only go alone. Otherwise, they will kill all our brothers," said Li Haonan weakly.
"Overlord, it looks like the Di Alliance is not going to give up on you," said Shang Jifeng with a frown.
"Um. I have been their target all along. Leave. Let me go see what they have in plan," said Xiang Shaoyun decisively.
"Overlord, we can't allow that! They will definitely be aiming for your life!" persuaded someone.
"That's right. We might as well go together. I want to see if they can really kill us all," said someone else. The others were also getting restless, wishing to go with Xiang Shaoyun.
However, Xiang Shaoyun said with a solemn tone, "Don't be reckless. Their target is only me. If I go, the brothers will be fine. But if you mess around, more of our brothers will suffer. Listen to me, leave immediately!"
Xiang Shaoyun spoke resolutely, and the Overlord Legion people no longer dared to object.
"How many people does the Di Alliance have? How many of our brothers are trapped?" Xiang Shaoyun asked Li Haonan.
"The Di Alliance has about 100 people, while about 30 of our brothers are trapped," Li Haonan answered. "But our brothers aren't trapped because of the alliance's numbers. Rather, the Di Alliance is using a terrifying weapon capable of sealing space, which is how they had managed to trap our brothers. When you're there, watch out for that weapon."
Li Haonan gave detailed information about the weapon and the topography of the location to Xiang Shaoyun. A solemn look covered Xiang Shaoyun's face, but he quickly adjusted his mental state. After ascertaining the direction with Li Haonan, he sped off. To his surprise, Ouyang Chuanqi was actually going with him.

A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.
