《I Am Overlord》Chapter 728: You Turtle

The area that seemed completely stable had exploded out of nowhere, with no warning. The shock waves hit Xiang Shaoyun and the rest who were withdrawing, and they cut sorry figures as they retreated.
Fortunately, they were braced for impact. Otherwise, the shock waves alone would have killed them. As a whole, they survived. Even so, they had all suffered some injuries, and the rumbling shock waves sent them flying and coughing blood. The unlucky ones were sent smashing toward rocks or the horned shell monsters, resulting in additional injuries on top of what the shock waves gave them.
Xiang Shaoyun was well prepared and was the one to react the fastest. He was able to protect Shou Xie, Yan Gang, Zhong Xia, and a few of the weaker ones in the group behind him.
Because of that, he suffered the brunt of the impact. The Goldplates protecting him cracked, and blood dripped out of the corner of his mouth. His blood circulation was a mess.
"Overlord!" Shou Xie, Yan Gang, Zhong Xia, and the others exclaimed in alarm. They were touched to see Xiang Shaoyun protecting them with his body. They were fortunate to have such a leader.
"Leave, now! Don't stay!" Xiang Shaoyun yelled.
He had not imagined that the seemingly stable area possessed such hidden danger. He had erred in his judgment of approaching. As for those who had refused to withdraw as commanded, nearly all of them were dead. The few lucky survivors were sent flying far away.
It was obvious the explosion had been incredibly powerful. As Xiang Shaoyun looked at the 10 plus deaths that had occurred in the blink of an eye, his heart ached. Although they had disobeyed him, they had still been Overlord Legion members.
Looks like I need to properly plant more fear and respect in these people in the future, thought Xiang Shaoyun inwardly with regret.

Those who had disobeyed were all new joiners. Their loyalty was low, and that was the reason for such loss. In short, he still wasn't a qualified leader, and he started reflecting.
While he was in thought, someone shouted, "Gleamstar water! I got some gleamstar water! Haha!"
The shouting woke Xiang Shaoyun from his thoughts. After the explosion, the gleamstar water had splashed out as well. He quickly spread his senses and detected several drops of sparkling water. Without any hesitation, he used the profundity of water to drag the droplets toward him.
One ought to admit that the profundity of each power touched upon the true origin of its respective power and allowed one to easily manipulate the power. Because of that, the profundity of powers was something each cultivator fervently pursued.
Xiang Shaoyun was someone who had comprehended the profundity of seven powers. If news of that spread, many people would be shocked. Right now, he was reaping a great harvest using the profundity of water. He gathered the droplets of gleamstar water, putting him in wild joy.
The gleamstar water was akin to its name—gleaming stars that exuded incomparably pure energy. A look at it would make one want to absorb it immediately.
However, Xiang Shaoyun did not display too much longing toward these droplets. Instead, he yelled at the others, "Collect the gleamstar water as quickly as possible!"
Only then did the Overlord Legion members recover from their shock and start collecting the scattered gleamstar water.
Unfortunately, the explosion was too powerful, and a large majority of the gleamstar water had been destroyed. Only a tiny portion had been splashed away. With the vile environment here, even collecting the dispersed droplets was hard.
Once again, Xiang Shaoyun displayed his astonishingly sharp senses as he found a spot with two drops of gleamstar water. He quickly rushed over, trying to collect the two drops. Otherwise, they would be ruined when they knocked into some of the flying rocks. Just as he was about to reach the two drops, a figure suddenly rushed over like the wind. That person was also reaching for the two drops, sending a kick to him while doing so.

As Xiang Shaoyun had been entirely focused on the gleamstar water, he had not noticed the newcomer in advance. He quickly dodged the kick before sending out a kick of his own.
Hurricane Kick!
With chaotic air flowing everywhere, the power of wind was incredibly effective. A hurricane flew out from the kick toward the approaching person. Xiang Shaoyun thought the kick would be enough to push the attacker away, but someone else suddenly appeared and intercepted the attack.
"These two drops of gleamstar water are mine," declared the person smugly.
He was none other than Situ Qingfeng from the Squall. Beside him were two Squall members. Xiang Shaoyun frowned as he had an urge to kill them all. But after some hesitation, he decided to let them off.
There were still other drops of gleamstar water scattered in the area. If Xiang Shaoyun missed them, he did not know when he would find new sources of gleamstar water. In his eyes, Situ Qingfeng was merely a clown. If he wanted to, he could kill him with just a finger.
When Situ Qingfeng saw Xiang Shaoyun retreating, he laughed, "Haha, see that? This is the turtle of the Overlord Legion. He is without any courage. Hahaha!"
The people beside him also roared with laughter, their eyes filled with disdain as they looked at Xiang Shaoyun.
"Turtle? This is the second time you're calling me that. Heh." Xiang Shaoyun turned back and smiled.
His smile seemed somewhat sinister, filled with killing intent. Before the smile faded, his figure vanished. Situ Qingfeng's eyes twitched, while the people beside him shivered as a bad feeling rose within them.
Xiang Shaoyun suddenly appeared before Situ Qingfeng. Using the sides of both his palms as blades, he chopped at Situ Qingfeng's face.
Devil Severing Edge!
The attack was unleashed while utilizing the profundity of wind, pulling in the power of the berserk wind in his surroundings to form a storm. Situ Qingfeng was completely trapped within the storm, and things were not looking well for him.
Situ Qingfeng was the number one expert under Feng Xiaosha. His speed wasn't the fastest in the academy, but he still surpassed many people due to mastering the first stage of footwork intent. Combined with his cultivation level, he could match the speed of a peak Emperor.
And yet, Xiang Shaoyun struck him before he could even see anything. From that, it was obvious Xiang Shaoyun was much faster than him. It was too late for him to regret now. Since Xiang Shaoyun had decided to kill, he would not survive.
And thus, tragedy befell Situ Qingfeng.
