《I Am Overlord》Chapter 145: You're Crazy

When Xiang Shaoyun and Dong Zi entered the cave, they found that it was quite deep. For some reason, Xiang Shaoyun had a bad feeling when he entered and saw that the fire could not spread any deeper; the blackcorpse poison had been growing thicker the deeper they went. If they each hadn't swallowed a poison discharge pill in advance, they would have died by now.
"This is troublesome. I never expected the cave to be so deep. Only some of the blackfur corpses have been burned, and we don't know if there are more inside. Just the blackcorpse poison is enough to give us a hard time." Xiang Shaoyun frowned.
"What should we do? Are we going to give up halfway?" Dong Zi asked.
"Of course not. Activate your shaped energy and try going deeper with the torch. But if we do find that the cave is too deep for us to explore, we will have no choice but to leave," Xiang Shaoyun said.
Thus, the two activated their shaped energy to protect themselves from the poison in the air.
Xiang Shaoyun had the innate purple lightning in him, a power of extreme yang. Thus, any blackcorpse poison, a power with yin property, that approached him would be destroyed.
When Xiang Shaoyun saw that, he was overjoyed. Why have I not thought of this? Lightning power is actually a counter to the poison!
He was only aware of fire being a counter for poison. But now, he realized that lightning had the same effect as well. As for Dong Zi's shaped energy, it was green in color. Clearly, he cultivated some sort of wood energy that was unable to restrain the poison. Seeing that, Xiang Shaoyun placed his hand on Dong Zi's shoulder, trying to protect Dong Zi with his lightning energy as well.
No matter what kind of background Dong Zi had, Xiang Shaoyun concluded that this was not a scheming person from how stupid he had been so far. Thus, it was unlikely that Dong Zi would be a threat to him.

But as soon as his hand touched Dong Zi's shoulder, Dong Zi moved. He grabbed Xiang Shaoyun's hand with one hand and elbowed Xiang Shaoyun's belly with his other arm. It was a clean and direct attack that was conducted so naturally it seemed like the action was innately ingrained in him. Thus, Xiang Shaoyun, who had just concluded that Dong Zi posed no threat, was immediately struck.
Bang!
Dong Zi attacked with an enormous force that immediately created cracks in Xiang Shaoyun's outer energy. Fortunately, Xiang Shaoyun already had his inner energy formed as well. Otherwise, this one attack would have seriously injured him.
And yet Dong Zi did not seem like he was going to stop. He shouted, "I'll kill you, pervert!"
He bent down while still tightly grabbing Xiang Shaoyun's arm and performed a shoulder throw on Xiang Shaoyun.
Bang!
Caught completely off guard, Xiang Shaoyun was slammed onto the ground. Then, Dong Zi drew his sword and stabbed the sword at Xiang Shaoyun, who was still on the ground.
By now, Xiang Shaoyun had already recovered from his shock. His eyes lit up as he stared at the sword, slowing down its movement in his eyes. Its trajectory became clear as day for him as both his hands shot up and clasped the sword in between his palms.
"Are you crazy?" Xiang Shaoyun focused all his power in his voice and yelled.
A slight trace of a tiger's roar was mixed with his voice reverberating throughout the cave. The roar caused Dong Zi's ears to go numb. Taking this opportunity, Xiang Shaoyun pushed the sword to the side before jumping back onto his feet.
"What are you doing?" Xiang Shaoyun glared at Dong Zi.
"I should be the one asking you that question! Why did you touch my shoulder?" Dong Zi glared at Xiang Shaoyun as well.
"You're crazy! My lightning energy is able to restrain the blackcorpse poison here. I was only trying to help protect you from the poison. What's with your extreme reaction? Are you trying to murder me?" Xiang Shaoyun was furious.

That made Dong Zi realize that he had wrongly blamed Xiang Shaoyun. He lowered his head awkwardly, not knowing what to say. Just as he was about to apologize, two black figures suddenly appeared behind him.
"Howl!"
"Be careful!" Xiang Shaoyun was able to see clearly behind Dong Zi since he was facing Dong Zi's front and could see over his shoulders. He yelled and pulled Dong Zi to the side before kicking the two black figures.
Bang! Bang!
Two blackfur corpses were sent flying away. Dong Zi broke out in cold sweat. If Xiang Shaoyun had reacted a tad bit slower, he would have been bitten by the blackfur corpses.
Xiang Shaoyun said, "Do what you want. I'm going in."
Xiang Shaoyun did not want to drag this on. He held a torch with one hand and the Overlord Skyslaying Saber with the other hand as he started moving again. The two blackfur corpses stood up again but were met with Xiang Shaoyun's slash, which split them into two.
As of this moment, Xiang Shaoyun was starting to get serious. As he advanced, one blackfur corpse after another appeared, and the torch in his hand lit them all up. Instead of wasting more time with them, he advanced the moment he lit one on fire. The deeper he went, the thicker the blackcorpse poison became. Hissing sounds rang out incessantly as the poison corroded his outer energy without stop.
Dong Zi had been sticking close to Xiang Shaoyun while feeling incomparably anxious. He was also a capable combatant, but he had no way of going too deep into the cave. At the same time, he also found the blackfur corpses terrifying. After some hesitation, he took out a stalk of high-grade spirit medicine and stuffed it into his mouth. That was a spirit medicine capable of resisting poison and was even better than the poison discharge pill.
"I won't be a burden!" Dong Zi muttered to himself before running after Xiang Shaoyun with his sword raised.
There was only a limited number of blackfur corpses in the cave. The deeper Xiang Shaoyun went, the fewer blackfur corpses he met. Even so, these newly appeared blackfur corpses were much more zombified and stronger than the ones he had met earlier. If he wasn't a Transformation Realm cultivator, he wouldn't have been able to defeat these corpses with one slash. These new corpses had incredibly tough skin with sparse black furs. Regular fire could no longer harm them.
"This is a sign of these corpses turning into complete zombies," Xiang Shaoyun muttered.
He really could not understand how the Blackhill Sect had only discovered that they were digging up a burial site after mining here for so long. The deeper he went, the more spacious the cave became. It was clear this space was man-made and was not naturally formed.
Currently, Xiang Shaoyun had stopped advancing and was standing there studying a room with pitch-black walls. These pitch-black walls were formed precisely of the blackiron ores the Blackhill Sect was mining.
Xiang Shaoyun had little interest in the blackiron ores. He was currently staring at 36 human-shaped indentations on the ground. There was a zombie in each of them. The zombies were all dressed in ancient armors and were holding on to some weapons with their hands. No sign of life could be seen within them. It was obvious they had been dead for a long time.

Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.

I also try my best to make sure (y/n) isn't cringe or stupid. I put a lot of effort into everything I write and I'm willing to edit what seems OOC or just bad in general to make it better since I slip up sometimes, so feedback and votes are extremely appreciated :)This is a (character) x reader by the way, reader is fem in the one shots while the headcannons are gender neutral.UPDATES ARE RANDOM BECAUSE MY LIFE IS A MESS
