《TranXending Vision》Chapter 935 - A Sly Opponent

Xia Lei reached Free Mary Town. Without taking out the key, he left his Yamaha in front of The Flaming Skeleton, bought from a member of the biker gang.
The one who sold Xia Lei the Yamaha was drinking in The Flaming Skeleton at the moment. Whenever he decided to leave, he would find that the bike he sold for ten thousand USD returned out of nowhere. He would certainly accept this gift. Would a simple-minded bike gang member even think of what had happened?
Xia Lei returned to Caitlin’s place.
Caitlin wasn’t at home. She was probably shopping at a shopping mall in Washington with her newly acquired one hundred thousand USD. She was in love and enjoying a wonderful life. It must be celebrated and shopping was definitely the best way to do it for a woman.
Caitlin was in Washington, while both Jack and Ton were at the sawmill a hundred kilometres away. Now, it was the time for the second part of his plan, to infiltrate Lockheed Martin.
This was the best and only chance he had. He must seize this opportunity because he would be entering Lockheed Martin as Jack.
Xia Lei rushed to Caitlin’s room. He then put on a human skin mask in the bathroom and amended it.
One hour later, Xia Lei was in front of Lockheed Martin. His face was covered with Jack’s human skin mask, which was identical to the original Jack. The one and only flaw were his eyes. Xia Lei was not able to put makeup on his eyes and turned them into those dark-blue eyes that Caucasians have. Even though he managed to alter the colour slightly, the flaw could still be spotted if studied closely. However, this issue was solved easily by putting on a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses.
The armed guards in front of the gate glanced at Xia Lei and did not take any further action. Jack’s mission was classified. They won’t even know where Jack went based on their role in this company.
Xia Lei walked past the armed guards calmly, which formed the first line of defence. After that, he took out the identity card he copied from Jack earlier when he reached the gate. He inserted the card into the identifier and passed successfully. He then kept his identity card and entered Lockheed Martin in a swaggering manner. He went to the production area instead of the headquarters.
Jack was an engineer. It was very normal for him to have access to the production area of Lockheed Martin.
The headquarters of Lockheed Martin definitely possessed highly classified secret intelligence and military technology. However, Xia Lei knew that it would be a trap because if he chose to enter the headquarters, the high board members of the company would definitely think that there was something wrong. If not, why was he in the headquarters when he was supposed to be at the sawmill? Xia Lei was a person who knew to make a choice and the right time to be greedy.

In fact, based on the current situation, the rewards would be more than enough as he walked around the production area of Lockheed Martin.
As he walked past the production line for the F16, he recorded the production line with his sight and immediately stored it in his brain. Some were numbers, images, even three-dimensional images.
Previously, he did the exact same thing when he was at Rheinmetall in Germany. Nevertheless, when Xia Lei compared Rheinmetall to Lockheed Martin, he found out that the former was just a beast on the ground whereas the latter was a dragon that triumphs the air!
Lockheed Martin made up forty per cent of the global military trade. They have the number-one military technology and they played a significant role in making America a world-leading country.
That was how powerful Lockheed Martin was.
When passing through the production line F35, Xia Lei crouched down and tied his shoelaces.
When passing through the production line of AGM-114 missile, he was caught in a daze for a while.
A whole lot of information was absorbed into his brain as he passed through the production lines one by one. The information he got in such a short period of time was much, much more than he was able to digest. He could not take it anymore. Yet, he still had to try his best as this would be the only chance he had. Even without possessing the military technology of Lockheed Martin, it was good enough to understand the capability and relevant parameters of the products of Lockheed Martin as this intelligence would be quite valuable to a country too!
Tick tock. Tick tock. Xia Lei was so immersed in the military technology of Lockheed Martin that he did not feel the passing of time. Nevertheless, the hours went by.
After some time, an International truck with a container was coming in from the shipping gate when Xia Lei reached the side of a fighter. He was staring at the fighter that was placed on the open-air ground and so impressed by its aerodynamic layout that he did not know what had happened. As he was preparing to use his X-ray vision to have a three-dimensional shot of the fighter, the truck stopped behind him in close proximity.
“Jack, why are you here?” Someone called out to him from behind.
Xia Lei heard the voice and immediately realized what had happened. He had stayed at Lockheed Martin for so long that Jack and Ton were already back!
“What are you talking about? I was just out to deliver something,” said Jack.
“Uh, sorry. Perhaps I mistook you for someone else,” uttered someone.

Xia Lei did not look back and strode past the nose of the fighter and reached its wing. He covered himself behind the fighter’s body to avoid being spotted by Jack. In the meantime, he saw Jack and the black female agent with his X-ray vision.
A Ram came inside too and stopped beside the truck. Ton got off from the Ram and beckoned at Jack, “Well done, Jack. Follow me and I shall introduce you to Mister Thompson. You will get the reward you deserved.”
Jack headed towards Ton, but he turned and looked back at his colleague he had a conversation with just now. He also looked around the place after that.
“Is this guy born to be so cautious and sly? Perhaps he will be an outstanding opponent if he joins the CIA. And a huge pain in the ass,” thought Xia Lei.
Xia Lei even thought about killing Jack now to save himself some future trouble.
Jack walked in front of Ton and said, “Mister Ton, one of my colleague said something strange just now.’”
“What did he say?” asked Ton, his eyes filled with suspicion and vigilance.
Jack lowered his voice and answered, “The colleague asked me why I was here and said he mistook me for someone else.”
“You are saying that…” said Ton with a frown.
“Could it be there was someone who looked like me came here?” muttered Jack as he looked around again. “Or perhaps, there was someone who disguised as me.”
“Disguised as you? How could that be possible?”
“There’s nothing impossible in this world,” Jack replied. “ Mister Ton, I think that we may need to check the access record for safety measures. Based on the security level of Lockheed Martin, he could only use my identity card to enter. If there was someone who really disguised as me, there would be a record in the system once he used my identity card.”
“So what are we waiting for?” uttered Ton. “Let’s go and find out now. If there was really someone who disguised as you, then we must seal off the entire building.”
Both of them trotted towards the headquarters.
Without further ado, Xia Lei trotted towards the shipping gate. He must leave this place before Jack found out about the access record and commanded to seal off the entire building. Even a single second spent there was more than enough to get him killed!
Plans were not always accurate. He could not think of every step precisely even with his super brain.
“Jack! Ton!” thought Xia Lei, feeling the urge to kill them bubbling once again.
Reaching the shipping gate, he slowed down to a normal pace and exited. The guards stationed at the gate did not get suspicious as it felt like something regular.
He left the main road and headed towards a lane after he exited.
There was a dense forest beside the lane. Xia Lei picked up his backpack and began to run as fast as he could in the forest.
This was not the route he chose provisionally. Instead, this was exactly the route he planned for his escape. Through Google Maps, he knew everything about the area, from terrains to landforms. The backpack was hidden before he entered Lockheed Martin.
From now on, every second he had was crucial!
Jack and Ton would find out about his record in the access system soon, which indicated that they would know the place he left from!
The lane in the forest was very rugged. He moved his chest up, and his legs were working like the pistons in an engine. His speed could even be compared with a cheetah. Still, he did know that if there were an SUV with a speed of eighty miles per hour to compete with him. He would be ahead of the SUV instead of the other way round!
Yet, for the first time in his life, he was forced to run this fast.
In the blink of an eye, he was already quite a distance from Lockheed Martin. As he was preparing to run at his full speed, he heard the ear-piercing siren from Lockheed Martin. Without looking back, he could imagine the picture of the armed guards from Lockheed Martin at operation. Even the special agents in the CIA, which was the special force of the company, would join the same operation too!
A two-meter wide river appeared in front of him as he ran. Xia Lei did not slow down and jumped over the river effortlessly using his right foot.
Swoosh!
He landed on the opposite side of the river successfully, but an obvious footprint was left at the ground full of dead leaves. But right now, it was none of his concern.

Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

Something about him was familiar, as though I had known him for years. One hand still grasping mine, he moved his other into my hair, stroking softly. His warmth surrounding, his touch calmed me.I couldn't move. I could barely breathe. My mind was blank. It was like nothing I ever felt before. I was lost in his eyes, in his warmth, in the feeling that I was safe. At that moment I wished to stay forever. I also knew better than to remain here. However, my muscles went numb under the warmth of his hands. I couldn't move.I layed there him stroking my hair in shock for what in my head felt like forever. Eventually, he leaned down and spoke into my ear making my whole body shiver."My dear, I have waited for this moment for years," his voice was beautiful, strong and warm. Like the wind on a summer day. He had humor in his eyes and I found it extremely unsettling. There was something off about his tone. Almost like I was dreaming, but I knew it wasn't one. Something powerful and dangerous was in his voice... Ohhh no! This wasn't some random mortal standing over me. This.... this... this was a god...Credit to Rick Riordan for building such a wonderful world to put stories into and creating some of these amazing characters.
