Terror Wolf’s attack caused great wounds for both Chu Mu and Night. Yet, at that moment, Chu Mu clearly felt his remembrance elevating under the influence of demon, dark, and lightning energy!
Everytime such a feeling appeared, Chu Mu would have a strange happiness, because it meant that one of his soul pets have morphed!!
Soul pets would at most experience nine morphs in a lifetime. Every morph was an exceeding of one’s boundaries and an increase in strength. No matter for the soul pet trainer or soul pet, morphing was a very special moment!

Night’s body went taut, as countless purple arcs started darting around on its body. The encompassing darkness neary let out an icy aura, as demonic energy from demon homes all over the place poured in like a wild gale. Demon, darkness, lightning, at this moment, Night’s three energies all grew along with its stages!!

On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. So be warned :) I've worked long and hard and have finally finished my third draft. Still needs work but everything storywise is complete. There are still a few things I need to add and tweak.
