Zheng activated his Explosion mode, and his battle power sharply rose. Just his speed increased by several folds compared to before. Although it hadn’t reached that ridiculous level of Destruction of breaking the sound barrier, he used this speed to charge towards within a thousand metres of the giant dragon within a short time. Then, his entire body seemed to slam into an invisible wall, with even a “bang” sound produced. Because he had been moving at high speed, he was immediately knocked into confusion.
“Guest from afar, what is it that prompted you to probe this taboo? Based on your strength, you should know what this taboo represents, right? Return! This is not a place you should be!” The man sitting on the giant black dragon, or accurately speaking king Galbatorix, spoke sternly to the thousand metres away Zheng.
Zheng didn’t reply. What he was currently most afraid of was to incite the plot, so he might as well ignore King Galbatorix’s questions. He directly extended a hand onto the defensive barrier, pondering how to break...

A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can.
