The spacious and bright ward was filled with cigarette smokes. The curtains were tightly drawn. Smoking was prohibited here, but since the patient’s identity was special, the nurse on duty could only ignore it.

The room wasn’t big. There were seven to eight people in the room. Among them, five of them were injured. They either had bandages on their heads or cast on their legs. The other men were all dejected as they handed the money over unwillingly. Receiving money from everyone, the man chuckled, “It seems that the bad luck is all gone now.”

This man was the son of Nonferrous Metals Group’s Vice-CEO, Ma Xiangming.

The one seated on his right hand was Lei Zheng, the son of the hospital’s Vice-President. With a smile, he flattered, “Yeah. Young Master Ma’s anger shreds blood. That bumpkin must be blind to offend you.”

Ma Xiangming snorted and asked, “Is he dead?”

“I heard he’s still in the emergency room. But even if he’s not dead, he’ll be in the vegetative state for the rest of his life.” Lei Zheng grinned.

“That’s the best. Let him suffer for the rest of his life.” Ma Xiangming smiled viciously. “Have you informed the doctor?”

“We can’t do that. Otherwise, who’ll be responsible if he really dies? But I’ve already gotten someone to urge his parents to make payments. If the payment isn’t done in time, the hospital won’t continue the treatment.” Lei Zheng smiled embarrassedly.

“Is that the idea you have by sending him to our hospital?” Ma Xiangming smiled.

Lei Zheng chuckled and began shuffling the cards, “This is our homeground. His life and death is in our hands.” Looking at Ma Xiangming’s cast, he continued, “I’m still dizzy talking about it. The timid man from before knew that he was a little too much when he asked about it and immediately added, “Young Master Ma, don’t say that. We’ll pay for it.”

Everyone continued playing their cards and threw Wu Jun to the back of their mind. Suddenly, the door was opened, revealing a delicate face. Ma Xiangming was stunned when he saw He Duo. He never expected that there would be such a beautiful nurse in the hospital.

When He Duo came in and saw the smoke in the room, she reprimanded, “This is the hospital ward. How can you smoke here and cause such noise!”

He Duo was disgusted by Ma Xiangming and sneered, “I’m here to ask you something. You injured Wu Jun, and aren’t you doing something now that his life is in danger?’

Ma Xiangming was stunned when he heard that. He never expected that He Duo was here to reprimand him. Raising his brow, he asked, “What has Wu Jun got to do with you?”

“He’s not related to me. But I just can’t stand what you’re doing.” He Duo replied.

“So you’re coming to uphold justice.” Lei Zheng laughed. “Since he’s not a relative of yours, why are you worried about him?”

“You guys have no conscience! You guys are simply beasts!” He Duo snapped, flustered with anger.

Ma xiangming met many women in his life, but it was the first time that he encountered someone like He Duo. Not only was he not angry, he even found it refreshing. He chuckled, “Why don’t you teach me what I should do then?”

“Shouldn’t you pay for the medical expenses since his parents can’t afford it?!” He Duo replied.

Pointing at his cast, Ma Xiangming smiled, “He fractured my leg. My friends here also suffered a certain degree of injuries. If you add our medical fees together, it’s not any lesser than him. It’s good enough that we’re not asking him for compensation, yet you want me to pay for his medical fees? Does that make sense to you?”

He Duo was taken aback. She never expected that Ma Xiangming would be so arrogant. A lackey immediately came blocking her way while the other grabbed her by her arm and pushed her to Ma xiangming.

Ma Xiangming held onto He Duo’s chin and praised, “You maintained your skin well. I like you. If you’re willing to be my girlfriend, you don’t have to work as a nurse anymore. I’ll give you ¥20,000 a month along with a car and house. What do you think?”

In the end, He Duo was just a woman. Lei Zheng smiled awkwardly, “I’ll do my best.”
