《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 889 - Dance for Friendship

Ni Jingqiu sat on a huge couch with one leg on the coffee table and the other leg dangling in the air. Her black heels were placed by the side.
When Su Tao entered the Three Flavour Hall’s office, he shook his head when he saw Ni Jingqiu’s posture, “Is this still the well-bred lady of the Ni Family and domineering President of Newlight Media? Don’t make me take a photo of you and pot it on the internet. It will definitely shock everyone that the goddess in their mind turns out to be this.”
Ni Jingqiu glanced at Su Tao furiously before she tossed her phone to the coffee table. Displeased, she spoke out, “Who’s afraid of whom? If you dare to do that, we’ll die together then. I’ll tell everyone that you’re keeping Rushan as a lover.”
Looking at Ni Jingqiu’s pose, Su Tao shook his head bitterly, “What nonsense are you talking about? When did I keep Rushan as my lover?”
“Then why did you buy her a nose?” Ni Jingqiu smiled. “Land in Beijing is worth more than gold. But you spent millions on her.”
“I was just borrowing her money. She said that she will return them to me when she has saved enough. I’m charging her interest too. Besides, why are you always talking about me and Rushan? Are you jealous of us?” Su Tao retorted.
Ni Jingqiu was stunned before she replied, “Don’t shower affection on an uninterested party. I just that you’re too stupid. Since you have some feelings for her, why don’t you take her down?”
“You don’t understand how a man thinks. Sometimes, it’s not necessarily to sleep with a woman if you like her. It’s satisfied seeing her happy.” Su Tao shook his head.
“Hypocrite!” Ni Jingqiu was teased by Su Tao’s words.
Sitting beside Ni Jingqiu, Su Tao asked, “Why did you come here all of a sudden?”
His eyes fell onto Ni Jingqiu’s high-heels. Although he couldn’t pronounce the brand, he could tell that it was an exquisite product. It had a golden-tipped toe with deer leather surface that went smooth and elegant down the lines.
“Why can’t I come here as well as the owner of this store?” Ni Jingqiu seemed to be in a bad mood today as if she had eaten explosives.
“Did someone offend you today?” Su Tao smiled bitterly.
“You!” Ni Jingqiu snapped.
“Me? What did I do? I have been behaving myself lately.” Su Tao thought about it carefully. He doesn't recall doing anything to make Ni Jingqiu angry recently.

“Aren’t you going to open a second store in Beijing? Why didn’t you tell me about it?” Ni Jingqiu tapped her fingers on the table.
Su Tao didn’t think that it was serious and got amused by it, “The second store is still being planned. I will naturally tell you about it once it’s confirmed.”
“You lie!” Ni Jingqiu said solemnly. “From now on, I have to be informed whenever there’s a new branch opened. Don’t forget that I’m one of Three Flavour Hall’s shareholders.”
Su Tao did give Ni Jingqiu some shares before. He originally thought that she was just joining to have some shares. He smiled, “Sure. I’ll get someone to make regular announcements to all shareholders.”
Ni Jingqiu was right that shareholders had the right to be informed. It seemed that he had to find an opportunity to sort it out.
Nodding her head in satisfaction, Ni Jingqiu replied, “That’s better!”
Shortly after, she smiled, “I’ll leave now if there’s nothing else.”
“Did you come here for that?” Su Tao was stunned.
“What else? If you’re willing to invite me for dinner, I can consider wasting more time and energy.” Ni Jingqiu turned to look at Su Tao with a bright smile.
“Is it that hard to say that you’re here for food?” Su Tao smiled. “What do you want to eat?”
“Let’s eat home-cooked food.” Ni Jingqiu replied after pondering briefly.
“Then it’s better for me to make it for you.” Su Tao suggested. “I’ll head to the supermarket to buy some food and make it for you.”
“Whose home?” Ni Jingqiu asked sensitively.
“...Rushan’s home? Then again, we can go to yours.” Su Tao smiled bitterly.
“Go to mine then. If we go to Rushan’s home, I would feel that we’re having an affair.” Ni Jingqiu smiled and snapped her fingers, “What are you still standing here for? Let’s go!”
Ni Jingqiu was a successful businesswoman. She had no shortage of real estate under her name. She brought Su Tao to a small bungalow near the Third Circle. Although it looked a little old from the outside, Su Tao knew that a house in this location definitely cost more than ¥100,000 per square meter.
“Since it’s a home-cooked meal, then there must be a warm place. This place isn’t big and it’s not deserted, but I just don’t stay here often. I usually have someone clean it up regularly.” Ni Jingqiu explained.
Shaking his head, Su Tao smiled, “Go on and show off your wealth.”
Spreading her hands apart, Ni Jingqiu smiled, “Sorry about that. I know that you won’t mind.”

The interior was exquisite, renovated in European style. The graphical patterns on the floor were gorgeous, with paintings hung on the wall.
There were several pots by the corner. When Su Tao walked over, he subconsciously sprayed some water on it and entered the kitchen. When he went in, he found all the pots and pans available and started cooking.
Ni Jingqiu went into the room and changed into her casual wear. That was the case for women. They would always release themselves whenever they have some private space to themselves.
Many women dressed well, but those clothes might not necessarily be comfortable. It was worse for some tight-fitting clothes.
Ni Jingqiu was fond of fish, so Su Tao bought a few fresh crucians. He made tofu crucian fish soup with it. In addition, he also made braised pork, mapo tofu, steamed shrimp with vermicelli, and stir-fried vegetables.
After the dishes were laid on the table, Ni Jingqiu already started eating. She smiled, “It’s great! It’s light and suits my taste.”
Su Tao smiled, “I’m afraid that you can’t stand having such a light meal every day.”
Ni Jingqiu didn’t have any time to refute and started stuffing food down her mouth. Seeing that Ni Jingqiu was eating so seriously, Su Tao didn’t bother with her.
After eating and drinking, Ni Jingqiu went to the storage room and took out two bottles of foreign wine. With a smile, she suggested, “Let’s drink!”
Su Tao smiled bitterly and nodded, “Alright. It looks like you’re not treating me as a man. I’ll go along with you then.”
“What makes you say that?” Ni Jingqiu poked Su Tao’s forehead.
Like a needle jabbing into him, Su Tao sighed, “We’re alone and you’re not afraid that I might lose control of me if I get drunk. Clearly, you’re not treating me like a man.”
“Will you even be interested in me?” Ni Jingqiu came close.
“Well, men generally lose their rationale when they get drunk.” Su Tao shrugged.
“You asshole! Are you saying that you’re not interested in me if you’re rational?” Ni Jingqiu was furious with Su Tao’s words.
“Well, you’re not exactly stupid after all!” Su Tao laughed. He grabbed the bottle from Ni Jingqiu and started pouring for himself.
Ni Jingqiu glared at Su Tao before snatching the glass from him, “Then you’re not allowed to drink.”
“The wine is already open. Let’s not waste it!” Su Tao said unexpectedly.
“Then look at me drink!” Ni Jingqiu gulped down the glass with her cheeks turning red.
“I’ve reminded you not to drink too much alcohol.” Su Tao helplessly said.
Letting out a charming smile, Ni Jingqiu replied, “Beg me. Beg me and I’ll give you some. You don’t have to threaten me in this manner.”
“I never expected that you’re still pretty willful. I’m doing this for you.” Su Tao smiled bitterly.
Why are you so good to me?” Ni Jingqiu said with some excitement.
“Are you drunk?” Su Tao didn’t think that Ni Jingqiu would get so easily drunk. Furthermore, why was she behaving so abnormal today?
Ni Jingqiu shook her finger and replied, “I just want to release myself. You will be going back to Hanzhou City in two days, so I want to find someone to drink with me now.”
Su Tao smiled, shaking his head, “I see. Why don’t you just tell me that.” He grabbed his glass and cheered, “Let’s drink then. Drink till we’re drunk!”
Ni Jingqiu clinked glasses with Su Tao and drank a full glass in one sip, “You liar. You said not to drink, but you’re drinking now.”
“Yeah, I’m just soft-hearted. I can’t stand others acting so pitiful.”
“You’re soft-hearted? Why didn’t I realize that? I find that you’re pretty tough to cause so much trouble in such a short time. Even the second child of the Ye Family has been convinced by you to sell firearms to South Africa.” Ni Jingqiu clicked her tongue.
“I’m pretty tough physically as well. You want to have a taste of it?” Su Tao smiled.
Ni Jingqiu was taken aback by Su Tao’s words before he replied in disdain, “Really? You’re not afraid that I’ll see if you’re tougher or the knife is tougher?”
“I’m afraid that you might not bear to do it!” Su Tao laughed.
Taking a deep breath, Ni Jingqiu whispered in Su Tao’s ears, “Carry on your nonsense and I might not let you out the door.”
“What’s the matter? You don’t think that I can deal with a woman like you?” Su Tao shook his head.
Ni Jingqiu tapped open her phone and tapped on the camera function, “Do it if you dare. I’ll capture everything and publish them!”
Su Tao also took out his phone and tapped on a piece of music. Stretching his hand forth, he smiled, “Ms. Jingqiu, can I invite you to a dance?”
Ni Jingqiu was shocked by the sudden change of mood. She quickly got up on her feet and placed her hand on Su Tao’s palm. The two of them began to dance along with the music.
Embracing Ni Jingqiu, Su Tao tried his best to convince himself that he’s only friends with Ni Jingqiu.
