《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 877 - Two-faced

All elevators had an obstruction safety system. So the elevator wouldn’t be able to move up if the door weren’t closed.
But Old Zhong had also seen some videos of elevators going out of control and causing the separation of bodies. So when he heard Su Tao’s words, he began to tremble from the bottom of his soul.
Su Tao caught a scent of urine, which he knew that this man was really terrified of. Snickering inwardly, he dragged Old Zhong into the lift. Placing his feet on Old Zhong’s neck, he questioned, “Where’s the USB flash drive storing the data?”
Old Zhong finally realized that Su Tao was here for the USB flash drive. Su Tao’s means were too brutal, and he was afraid of death even if he was used to these kinds of scenes. He was afraid that Su Tao might do something insane. But since it could be peacefully resolved, he did not want to risk his life.
Without any hesitation, Qu Wanwan took out the USB flash drive. Taking the USB flash drive from Old Zhong, Su Tao gave him a kick. Old Zhong’s head collided against the elevator so hard that he almost fainted.
Without any sympathy for Old Zhong, Su Tao asked in a deep voice, “Be honest with me. Do you have any backup?”
“No!” Old Zhong was fighting the dizziness and replied, “I’m telling the truth. You can ask Wanwan if you don’t believe me.”
Qu Wanwan’s face was pale when she looked at Su Tao. Su Tao’s behavior made her mistook him for a criminal.
Then again, Su Tao had no choice but to make himself seem this way. He had to be ruthless with these people. If he negotiated with smiles on his face, these two would only try to coax him. Su Tao knew about this well, which was the reason why he deliberately acted so fiercely.
“This is the USB flash drive that I gave him.” Qu Wanwan spoke with her voice trembling.
Nodding his head, Su Tao took out his phone and gave a call to Xia Yu, “Where are you right now?”
Su Tao called Xia Yu over because he was afraid that he might not be able to resolve this matter. But it would be safe with Xia Yu’s help.
“Beijing is too congested. I just arrived at the underground parking lot.” Xia Yu smiled bitterly.
“I’m on the 16th floor!” Su Tao replied in a huff.
“I’ll come up!” Xia Yu glanced at a parking lot. A vehicle wanted to park there, but he stepped on the accelerator and made swift parking. Looking at the female driver on the right, he gave an apologetic gesture before running to the elevator entrance.
While Su Tao was waiting for Xia Yu, Ning Yi felt that Old Zhong was taking a little too long. When he gave a call to Old Zhong, Old Zhong could only lie to him out of Su Tao’s presence. He said that he had a stomachache and needed to visit the toilet. He would still need about ten minutes before he was done with his business.

Snatching the phone over from Old Zhong, Su Tao sneered, “You’re a professional conman indeed. Your mouth is full of lies.”
With an awkward smile, Old Zhong put up a pitiful look and explained, “It’s not easy being in this business. Who doesn’t want to be a good person? We’re only forced by society to take this step.”
Giving another kick to Old Zhong, Su Tao raged, “You conned tens of millions from Lu Yunchuan alone. You call this forced to make a living? Are your conscience eaten by dogs?!”
Old Zhong knew that he could only admit it today under this situation. He curled his body together in a corner and began groaning out in pain.
When Xia Yu arrived, Su Tao got Qu Wanwan to open the doors and instructed, “Look after the two of them. Don’t let them run away.”
“What about you?” Xia Yu asked.
“I will meet with his customers.” Su Tao smiled.
Nodding his head, Xia Yu replied coldly, “Although they did not succeed, we still have to be reminded to save trouble.” Su Tao had already gotten the location from Old Zhong. Taking the cap from Xia Yu and sunglasses from Old Zhong, he headed to the appointed room.
After Su Tao left, Xia Yu glanced at Qu Wanwan. Looking at her outstanding figure, he frowned, “Why do you want to be a conman with your appearance?”
As he spoke, his rage began to burn, and stomped on Old Zhong’s face ferociously, “You must be the reason why!”
In Xia Yu’s view, Qu Wanwan’s profession was no different from prostitutes. Then again, Qu Wanwan was more disgusting. Not only did she sell her body, but she even sold her conscience and principles.
Prostitutes only had a flesh transaction with customers, leaving after they were done. But Qu Wanwan not only drains her prey dry, but she even makes use of other people’s feelings for her. It was something that made him feel intolerable.
She only had an outstanding appearance. But her heart was as vicious as a poisonous snake.
Xia Yu wasn’t as gentlemanly as Su Tao. He did not have any principles about not touching women. After kicking Old Zhong in the fact, he still did not feel satisfied and pulled Qu Wanwan over, throwing her at Old Zhong. He did not feel any pity for her at all. Seeing that she wasn’t tactful, he kicked her butt violently.
Taking his phone, Xia Yu frowned, “Conmen like you must be exposed. Otherwise, god knows how many people will be deceived. Let me take some pictures to be persuasive enough.”
Xia Yu had a good habit of taking photos anytime and anywhere.
When Su Tao pressed on the doorbell, Ning Yi looked at Wang Jiajia and smiled, “It must be Old Zhong.”
Ning Yi went over and looked through the peephole out of habit. But he wasn’t able to see anything aside from pitch black because Su Tao was blocking the view with his thumb. Ning Yi knitted his brows, thinking that the peephole must be faulty. He opened the door and saw a man wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses. But this man was wearing a robe, which suddenly raised his leg and kicked Ning Yi’s abdomen.

Ning Yi was thrown a few meters away from the huge impact and landed on the ground. Looking at this scene, Wang Jiajia and Gu Yang were both terrified. The development of this situation had caught them by surprise. Removing his sunglasses, Su Tao sneered, “Sorry to disappoint you guys, but Old Zhong won’t be coming.”
“It’s you!” Gu Yang stared at Su Tao. Her luck would run out every time she encounters Su Tao. She felt that it must be Jiang Qinghan, who wanted her disciple to teach her a lesson.
Wang Jiajia also recognized Su Tao back from the squash court. In Huo Kun’s view, Su Tao must be Ni Jingqiu’s lover. Wang Jiajia knew nothing about Su Tao. But she knew that he was Qin Jingyu’s rival despite the fact that he wasn’t from any of the four families in Beijing.
“What do you want?” Wang Jiajia glanced at Ning Yi cautiously. Ning Yi might not have practiced martial arts, but he played squash for a long time so he was stronger than an ordinary man. But when she saw how he was sent flying by Su Tao’s kick, she began to panic.
“I’m not trying to do anything. You guys are trying to set up against Jingqiu, and since it has been exposed, I demand an explanation.” Su Tao calmly replied.
“Explanation? How laughable! Firstly, do you have any evidence that I’m trying to set up against Ni Jingqiu? Secondly, even if what you say is true, what can you do about it? Which of us in the circle isn’t scheming against each other? The Wang and Ni Families weren’t friends, to begin with. Worse comes to worst, we will just go to war. My Wang Family fears no one!” Wang Jiajia maintained her cool, trying to suppress Su Tao with her background.
“It looks like you won’t behave if I don’t give you a lesson.” Su Tao smiled bitterly.
Seeing that Su Tao was walking over to Wang Jiajia, she became nervous and replied, “Don’t lose your rationale. Let me remind you that I’m someone from the Wang Family. If you dare to touch me, my family won’t let you off!”
Su Tao shrugged, “Our hatred has already been planted. I will definitely encounter your revenge in the future even if I stop now. So I might as well take it further. When you feel pain deep in your bones, you will know that there are some people in the world that you can’t afford to offend.”
Su Tao spoke as he kicked Ning Yi and sneered, “Stop pretending to be dead. Get up and pin her down.” Su Tao pointed at Wang Jiajia.
But just when Ning Yi wanted to keep his eyes closed, Su Tao gave him another kick, which made him groan out in pain. Seeing that Su Tao still wanted to kick him, he immediately got up on his feet. He had already suffered in the squash court, and he did not want to suffer any more pain right now. In the end, he could only gnash his teeth and walked towards Wang Jiajia with a bitter expression, “I’m sorry. I don’t have a choice!”
“Get lost! Don’t touch me!” Wang Jiajia started to panic.
Seeing that Wang Jiajia finally started to panic, Su Tao sneered. When he saw that Gu Yang wanted to make a call secretly, he walked over and snatched the phone over and pushed her down beside Wang Jiajia.
“Now, remove her clothes!” Su Tao ordered.
Ning Yi was briefly stunned before he gnashed his teeth and started to tear off Wang Jiajia’s clothes while muttering, “I didn’t have a choice.”
Wang Jiajia still wanted to struggle, but under Ning Yi’s strength, her collar was pulled apart with her skin revealed. She began to panic. What was Su Tao trying to do? Did Su Tao want Ning Yi to strip her naked and have a live performance?
But she didn’t have a choice right now. As a member of the Wang Family, she could naturally deal with Su Tao, but definitely not right now. If she was raped by Ning Yi and had a video taken by Su Tao, she would’ve already suffered an imaginable loss.
As Su Tao coldly looked at how Wang Jiajia began to show fear, regret, and helplessness, he spoke out, “Stop!”
That’s all? Ning Yi looked at Su Tao in disbelief.
Shrugging his shoulders, Su Tao walked over and sent Ning Yi flying with a kick. He then squatted down and adjusted Wang Jiajia’s torn clothes. He spoke out, “This is a lesson for you today. If you continue to harass Jingqiu, you will know what’s coming next.”
Looking at Su Tao’s appearance now, it showed that not only was Su Tao shrewd, but he was also two-faced. Was Su Tao only trying to intimidate her?
Wang Jiajia’s heart was filled with rage, humiliation, and fear. She did not dare to speak a second word as she watched Su Tao leave.
She finally understood why Huo Kun would show such fear whenever he heard Su Tao’s name.
Su Tao’s actions were always so unexpected and unpredictable.
“Are you alright?” Ning Yi came over to comfort Wang Jiajia in embarrassment after Su Tao left.
“Get lost!” Wang Jiajia roared, venting all her anger on Ning Yi.

Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
