《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 864 - Getting more interesting

Yu Youqing looked at the anonymous report for a long time before he spoke out, “Mr. Yue, take a look at it yourself.” He tossed the report over to Yue Zun.
Yue Zun took a rough look at the report. After which, he smiled bitterly, “These are just groundless accusations. If you want to pin a crime on someone, why bother making so much effort?”
Knocking his finger heavily on the table, Yu Youqing replied, “We’re democratic here. I can give you a chance to explain yourself since you denied it.”
“The report accused that I’ve been swindling with my status in the National Healer Team, requesting ¥50,000 for a single talk. This is a malicious accusation. I admit that the host would pay me for my labor, but I’ve never taken a single dime from them. They’re all donated to charity organizations.
“Secondly, on the accusation that I have many lovers out there. I would like to declare that marriage had never crossed my mind again since my divorce. Having an intimate relationship with these women is just part of my lifestyle. I have never two-timed, and we’re still friends after we break up.
“Lastly, the accusation that I have embezzled public funds during my time as a hospital’s president, it’s complete rubbish. I am not a money-grubber. It’s also complete rubbish that the report stated that there is conclusive evidence on me.”
Yue Zun spent half an hour refuting every single accusation written on the report. In the end, he pointed at Du Shanping and continued, “I have decided to sue you for defamation because of how you tried to use this so-called report to affect my reputation. Furthermore, I would also like to ask why did you suddenly come out to frame me given our relationship? I feel that I should look into this matter and see if you’re under someone’s orders for doing this.”
Shao Wentao and Sun Changle exchanged a glance when they heard Yue Zun’s lengthy explanation. They could understand each other’s concerns. They also had a feeling that Yue Zun came prepared.
Listening to Yue Zun’s words, Du Shanping’s face turned red and rebuked, emotionally, “Yue Zun, you’re despicable! But I naturally have evidence since I dare to submit the report against you. You might seem to have a good relationship with everyone in the specialist team, but you’re a corrupt person behind the background. I have a few photos that everyone can look at.”
Du Shanping then took out photos of Fei Mingyang, visiting several best friends of Yue Zun.
Knitting his brows, Yue Zun raged, “I don’t know this person at all. So what are you trying to say here?”
“This person is Fei Mingyang, a renowned developer in Beijing. Recently, he has been paying visits to a few National Healer Team members. He’s trying to register a medical import company, and he’s trying to use Yue Zun’s prestige to get connections with hospitals. Isn’t this abusing your authority? Aside from these photos, I still have an audio recording as evidence.” Du Shanping sneered.

Du Shanping took out his phone and played an audio record. It was Fei Mingyang’s voice trying to get Du Shanping’s help to get connections with hospitals for the sales channel.
He then took out another kraft envelope and continued, “This is the benefit that he’s giving me for his request, but I did not open it. Yue Zun, having someone like you is a humiliation for the entire team!”
Watching this scene caused a smile to rise on Shao Wentao’s face. There was evidence for the accusation, so Yue Zun no longer had any path of retreat. Sun Changle was also satisfied with Du Shanping’s performance.
He had planned it all out meticulously by using Fei Mingyang’s desire to enter the medical industry to create a scheme against Yue Zun. By misleading Fei Mingyang to interact with Yue Zun’s friends, he created a ‘bribing’ situation. At the same time, he made use of Du Shanping to shift the blame to Yue Zun.
Then again, Du Shanping wasn’t that easy to manipulate. It was just that Sun Changle had something against Du Shanping. Du Shanping had relied on connections to get into the National Healer Team back then, and he would be asked to leave if it was exposed.
Despite Du Shanping’s performance, he was filled with conflict and guilt for Yue Zun. He didn’t have a choice to stab Yue Zun in the back to protect himself.
“You have an audio recording? What a coincidence! I also have an audio recording as well!” Yue Zun cast a glance at Du Shanping before giving a smile to Sun Changle.
When Sun Changle saw Yue Zun directing a smile at him, he immediately felt goosebumps rising on his skin.
Yue Zun took out his mobile phone and turned on the speaker. Everyone could hear Sun Changle’s voice from the audio recording. It was the entire recording of Sun Changle, Fei Mingyang, Fred, and Su Tao’s discussion.
“Let me give you guys some background information. This audio recording was given to me by Su Tao. He was invited to a small-scaled meeting that day, and during that meal, Sun Changle introduced Fei Mingyang to Su Tao and Tosca Pharmaceutical Conglomerate’s representative in China, Fred. I am not acquainted with this Fei Mingyang, not to mention that he’s a long-time friend of Sun Changle. I also have photos as evidence as well!” Yue Zun reached into the bag and took out a few photos.
Hearing those words caused Sun Changle’s gaze began to change. He never expected that Su Tao and Yue Zun had already suspected him. So it turned out that Su Tao had been recording the meeting that day. He had practically smashed his foot with a rock.
“Coincidentally, Su Tao just happens to be here today. I can get him over for a confrontation on this matter.” Yue Zun continued. He then gave a call to Su Tao, informing Su Tao to come to the meeting room.

Yu Youqing’s face became dark when he saw how this matter was developing. He knew that things had gone out of hand. Since there were two sides to the story, then the proper method was to get Su Tao here for a confrontation.
However, Yu Youqing also knew that the situation would tilt towards Yue Zun if this matter continues to develop in this direction. He couldn’t help cursing Shao Wentao and Sun Changle in his heart. Just what were those two idiots doing?
Sun Changle started to panic. He knew that there was a possibility that this matter might go out of his hands when he couldn’t find the pinhole camera in Yue Zun’s office. In the beginning, he was still feeling somewhat hopeful. But his heart had fallen down the valley at this moment. He knew that Su Tao and Yue Zun must have other trump cards in their hands.
When Su Tao arrived in the room, Yue Zun replied, “Su Tao, please explain what’s going on with Fei Mingyang trying to bribe people in the National Healer Team!”
Su Tao revealed an innocent expression and explained, “I’m not too familiar with this businessman. The other day, Sun Changle told me that Fei Mingyang was interested in going into the medical industry, so I helped set up a meeting between them and Fred. But when we look through his proposals, they’re very roughly done. I never expected that Fei Mingyang would be in such a hurry and even went as far as bribing National Healers. But most of them were self-disciplined, and they did not accept Fei Mingyang’s bribes. This matter also has no relationship with Martial Uncle Yue.”
“Everyone knows about your relationship with Yue Zun in the National Healer Team. He even went as far as convincing Chief Wei to get you into the Ten Best National Healers. So how can your words be trustable?” Du Shanping continued to bombard with his words when he saw that Sun Changle was keeping his silence.
“I have a piece of information here that can prove that Sun Changle is trying to frame me on purpose.” Yue Zun replied coldly. He tapped into a video in his phone and handed it to Yu Youqing, “A few days ago, when I was cleaning up my office, I found a pinhole camera hidden in a painting. So to find out who’s trying to spy on me, I installed a pinhole camera in my office as well. A few days later, my best friend, Sun Changle, actually sneaked into my office late at night and tried to retrieve the pinhole camera installed in the painting. This video can be the evidence for that!”
Sun Changle’s face turned pale, but he tried to rebuke Yue Zun’s words, “You’re framing me!”
“We can just check the security records to see if you visited the building last night.” Yue Zun sneered.
Although Sun Changle did not watch the video, he was confident that it wouldn’t be clear since the lights were turned off, “I did come back for some matters, but I’ve not entered your office.”
However, he had still underestimated the development of technology. The pinhole camera that Su Tao bought had a function to it, allowing the video to be clearly seen even in poor lightings. So the video was captured at high definition, allowing anyone to recognize Sun Changle at first glance.
Shaking his head, Su Tao smiled bitterly, “There’s no need to try and get yourself out of this matter. Aside from the painting, you also touched some documents on the table. Your fingerprints will definitely be left on those documents, so we can easily find the truth by getting the police involved.”
Sun Changle was hopeless when he heard Su Tao’s words. He was smart to think that he could monitor Yue Zun’s actions, but he never imagined that he would leave behind evidence that leads to himself in the process.
Slamming on the table furiously, Yu Youqing questioned, “You’re a National Healer, so why did you do something so despicable?! If the news of this matter gets out, how will others look at us? If the ministries know this matter, do you think that we’re still qualified to provide healthcare services for them?!”
Knowing that the situation wasn’t going well, Sun Changle gnashed his teeth and admitted defeat, “Chief Yu, I’m sorry for this matter.” Sun Changle had just practically confessed to his crime.
Sweeping a glance out, Yu YOuqing replied, “Everyone here is people with status in the society. As the organization leader, I’m deeply ashamed that such an incident took place under my watch. I would like everyone to keep this matter among yourselves for the bigger picture. As for how I will deal with this matter, please trust that I will give everyone a satisfying answer.”
It has always been Yu Youqing’s style to simplify matters. Everyone knew that Yu Youqing wanted to stop this topic from going any further with his words. They turned to look at Yue Zun, waiting for Yue Zun to make his stance.
“Chief Yu, since we’ve already come this far, I have a few evidence for everyone to look at.” Yue Zun replied, which made Yu Youqing’s face turn ugly.
As for everyone else, their expression became brilliant. Things were getting more interesting now!

Dungeon Scholar
Girl meets dungeon. What could go right? A story of a good-hearted Scholar driven by her compassion and curiosity. She might be a little combat averse, but um, isn't that only logical? Love me a good grimdark, but sometimes I want to read feel-good fiction that isn't pure action, romance, or comedy. The plot and characters of Dungeon Scholar won't be all happy and fluffy, and the world will be more dungeons and monsters than rainbows and puppies, but overall the sweet moments should overshadow the bitter. Let's say three dollops of sugar for every pinch of salt, with lemon slices left on the saucers? Enjoy. Note: This is NOT a typical dungeon story. If you are here for the dungeon aspect, then fair warning this will seem incredibly slow-burn to you. The dungeon will eventually become the most important 'character,' arguably, or the second-most important narratively, but you might jump out the window in frustration long before that happens. At its heart, the story's core remains 'girl meets dungeon,' not 'dungeon meets world.' (To be clear, this does or will have a plot! It's just the more conventional story-like elements contribute to Rowena Loress's greater story, not the other way around; no conflict takes center stage until it becomes personally significant to her. Meanwhile, have some Slice of Life.) Updates every Friday Cover made using Waifulabs Written using 4thewords (referral code: UZJRY55368)
