《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 767 - Rome’s Bella

When you’re in a higher position with more resources in your hands, your authority naturally grows. If you’re also a charming man, it’s for certain that you would not lack women around you.
Women and men were both alike; they’re attracted to outstanding opposite sexes. Not to mention that with the current development in China, the status of women was growing. Furthermore, they’re more independent, and they’re also willing to pursue the man they love.
Under this situation, men shouldn’t blame the changes in society, but they should work harder.
Vera had also arrived in Milan from Moscow. The moment they met, they instantly tangled together since it had been a long time. Hence, the two of them locked themselves in the room, and in the process, they did not rest aside from when Su Tao ordered food from the hotel.
“Su Tao, do you know that you’re currently in a dangerous position right now? My grandfather told me that he received unfavorable news towards you that involves a certain mercenary organisation in Italy. They’re planning to capture you alive!” Vera drew her finger on Su Tao’s chest as she spoke her concern.
“I have already met with them, and I even gave them a lesson.” Su Tao smiled.
Who would have expected that Su Tao would be so ferocious? The moment they caught the scent of danger, he pursued the other party with a Fiat and even ruined their Ferrari.
“I heard about it from my grandfather, and he feels that you’re pretty interesting. But because it’s a humiliation for the other party, they will definitely achieve their goals at all costs. The only piece of good news for you is that they won’t kill you.” Vera smiled as she continued, “But you don’t have to be worried about it. As long as you’re with me, I guarantee that you will be safe. Regardless of mercenary organisations or the mafia, none of them is willing to offend my grandfather.”
Listening to those words, Su Tao had a completely new understanding of Li Yifu. The latter had a strong deterrence, and no one was willing to provoke such an unfathomable fellow.
Putting it in a nutshell, Li Yifu’s might has exceeded the boundary of countries. He had powers throughout the globe, and at the same time, he also controlled political resources.
If he’s willing, he could implement great changes in many countries in Europe. At the same time, he could also get many key personnel in many countries’ military to resign.
Li Yifu was a headache to many people, and at the same time, people were fearful of him. Most importantly, no one knew how much wealth he has accumulated, and the military power in his hands could easily dominate several countries.
This was also the reason why Vera’s father, the Patriarch of Russia’s Ormond Family, did not even dare to speak loudly before Li Yifu.

If Li Yifu really had a weakness to speak of, it would be his daughter, and now, his granddaughter as well.
But even so, no one would be foolish enough to use those two to threaten him.
Most importantly, Li Yifu was someone smooth and slick when establishing social relations. He would never take the initiative to stir up any trouble, and he had a smooth relationship with various parties.
“I never imagined that I’d find myself such a formidable wife.” Su Tao pinched Vera’s cheeks and continued, “It feels great being protected by someone. Actually, I’m pretty suitable to live off women.”
Occasionally, Su Tao also felt tempted to live off women. He didn’t have to work to live a good life. Then again, there would be a limit to how many people he could attract, and it’d be impossible for him to attract a woman like Vera.
“Actually, there are many families in Russia where women take care of their husbands. But when I came to China, I realised that women in China are more fortunate than their counterparts in Russia. It’s because there are many outstanding Chinese men willing to bear the responsibility of the household.” Vera smiled as she pursed her lips.
Su Tao sighed upon hearing those words. Wasn’t Vera indirectly telling him to be diligent and work?
“Looks like I can’t live off women, then. I’ll just be diligent with my work, after all, I can’t possibly embarrass Chinese men, right?” Su Tao bitterly smiled.
As Vera chuckled, she sat up from the bed and wrapped herself with the bedsheet. Taking out a document from her bag, she went back to laying down in Su Tao’s embrace and flipped through the document. “This is the information of that mercenary organisation. They have a relationship with Tosca Pharmaceutical Conglomerate and they’re planning to capture you alive and use you as a hostage to exchange for Tony, who’s currently imprisoned in China.”
“One of the masterminds behind the epidemic in the country?” Su Tao knitted his brows together.
“Strictly speaking, Tony is also a victim. He was unfortunate to get to know Ying Xiong. As for the virus, it was developed a few years ago, and back then, Tony still wasn’t the successor of Tosca Pharmaceutical Conglomerate. Putting it in a nutshell, Tony is only a scapegoat.” Vera patiently explained.
Su Tao never expected that Vera would understand so much about this matter and asked, “How did you know about these pieces of information?”
“With my grandfather’s intelligence network, it’s not difficult to investigate this matter. This virus was actually a cooperation between a few countries that were trying to use biological weapons to control China’s development. After all, China’s current development is too terrifying.” Vera smiled.

Wearing a bitter smile, Su Tao replied, “China’s development for the past five years was openly seen. But even so, there are still many poor people who are unable to receive equal education. In some families, a person falling ill will be equivalent to a destructive blow to them.”
Shaking her head, Vera responded, “Actually, I was shocked when I was in Hanzhou City. I never expected that a third-rated city in China would be so developed. The income of an ordinary person there is actually equivalent to the white-collared workers in Russia. Furthermore, your country’s internet industries are too terrifying. You can leave the home with your phone alone, and it’s something unimaginable in Russia. This is also the reason why I made up my mind to invest in China.”
“Well, I’m happy to hear such an evaluation from you, as a foreigner. I’m even more happy than you praising me.” Su Tao smiled.
Glaring at Su Tao, Vera muttered, “Isn’t it also because of you that I fell in love with the country as well…?”
“For those words of yours, let’s go for another hundred rounds!” Su Tao smiled, feeling his heart boiling.
Ten-odd minutes later, his phone rang from the cabinet beside the bed that broke their rhythm.
Stretching his hand out, Su Tao saw that it was a call from Silvia, so he briefly hesitated before he ultimately picked it up.
When Vera heard that it was a woman’s voice, she immediately looked at Su Tao in alertness.
As Su Tao responded to her with an embarrassed smile, Silvia’s magnetic voice resounded from the other side, “I’m sorry to disturb you right now, but I would like to ask you for help.”
“Oh? What is it?” Su Tao noticed that Vera’s hand was being playful under the quilt so he gave her a stare.
Vera started teasing Su Tao with a naughty smile on her lips, causing Su Tao to nearly yell out. Seeing that Vera was so playful to launch a sneak attack on him while he’s on the phone, he made up his mind to pay her back for it later.
“A friend of mine has fallen ill, and I would like you to take a look at her.” Silvia said, feeling a little lack of confidence since she was afraid that Su Tao might refuse her.
Seeing that it was to treat an illness, which was his forté, Su Tao straightforwardly agreed with a smile, “Sure!”
When he finished, he felt extremely ticklish so he subconsciously let out several breaths.
Through the phone, Silvia had also noticed something unusual about Su Tao’s breathing and asked, “You’re exercising right now?”
Wearing a bitter smile, Su Tao could only go along and replied, “Yeah, I’m jogging right now. The wind is a little big today in Milan, and the atmosphere is a little moist, so it’s more tiring.”
In the quilt, Vera nearly laughed out from Su Tao’s nonsense.
After a brief pause through the phone, Silvia threw out a passionate invitation, “I can bring you to a gym if you're free. They have the best equipment there, and I believe that you will fall in love with that place.”
“Definitely, definitely!” Su Tao realised that if he continued over the phone, he would definitely reveal something and continued, “I have a tight schedule in Milan, so I can take a look at your friend tomorrow morning.”
“Alright, I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning. Oh, and my friend stays in Rome, so we might have to leave Milan.” Silvia immediately explained.
“You can plan everything!” Su Tao immediately hung up the call and flipped the quilt, taking his revenge on the playful Vera.
Seeing that Su Tao hung up the call before she could even bid her farewell, Silvia had disappointment and perplexion on her face.
The next day after Su Tao took his breakfast, he received a call from Silvia. When he came out to the entrance, he saw Silvia walking out of a black vehicle with a smile on her face. “We can get going now!”
Su Tao was still carrying his medical box and wore a robe that Yan Jing had gotten someone to tailor-make for him.
“You can tell me more about the patient’s situation.” Su Tao smiled.
Shaking her head, Silvia apologised, “Actually, I don’t know about the exact situation, but I’m sure that you will not be disappointed when you see her. She’s Rome’s Bella, the dream lover of many Italian men.”
“In my view, her beauty is of no concern with me since she’s my customer. Is your God going to spare her from pain just because she’s beautiful?” Su Tao said with a straight face.
“You’re very humorous!” Silvia smiled and started introducing the scenery outside the window.
Time flew as he chatted with a beauty like Silvia, so Su Tao enjoyed the entire trip.
Rome was slightly further away from Milan, roughly about six hundred kilometers. Hence, it would roughly be a five-hour drive.
Hence, it was already afternoon by the time they arrived in Rome.
The vehicle stopped before a majestic villa built in Rome’s style, majestic and luxurious. Under the butler’s lead, Su Tao came to a spacious living room and saw the patient, Joanna.
Subconsciously, he knitted his brows and became a little alert. Through his observation, Joanna wasn’t ill at all!

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.

Meeting myself
Canceled (This was my first attempt at a story and while I really enjoyed it, I lost track of the thread of the story. The MC was too op, and except for some fun slice of life moments it just wasn't a very good plot. Anyway, I may come back and re-write this in the future because I really enjoyed the premise, but for now don't expect updates.)I've never met Karma; or at least I think I haven't. Hope, really, because I'm pretty sure she hates me. You see, the thing is, I've always hated flying. When you don't wind up getting molested (cavity searched), then your bags get lost, or you spend the entire flight sitting next to a crying baby. This flight was even worse than any of those things. You see, this flight killed me. I won't spoil it, but lets just say, Karma owes me a few explanations. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, deserves to die like that. Of course, that wasn't the end of my adventure, far from it. But, you'll just have to read the story to learn about that.(This is a mature fiction, so far their hasn't been anything overtly bad (some minor sexual innuendo and drug use), but their will be plenty of blood, gore, sex, all that good stuff... eventually)
