《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 744 - You have not disappointed me

“When are you leaving?” Liao Huashi looked at Qiao Xue with an infatuated gaze in a remote corner of the hotel.
Qiao Xue was looking at her feet. When she returned to the hotel, she first went to shower and even put on make-up. Due to the limited conditions back in Seven Mountain Village, she had no choice but to present herself without make-up. Now that she had put on her make-up, she looked even more gorgeous with a gown, making her stand out under this environment.
“We will leave Yundian Province tomorrow to make a transfer in Beijing!” Qiao Xue softly said, standing real close to Liao Huashi. She could feel her heart violently throbbing at this moment.
“You still haven't answered my question to you the other time.” Liao Huashi was more bold than usual since he drank alcohol.
“I have already answered that I have a boyfriend.” Qiao Xue helplessly replied. She had a favourable impression of Liao Huashi, and the two of them were also about the same age. He’s honest, humorous, and kind-hearted. Not to mention that he had decent attainments in his medical skills; he’s an outstanding man.
“I got to know from Brute that your boyfriend isn’t a medical practitioner. He has been wasting his life away because his family is rich, he’s not worthy of you.” Liao Huashi honestly replied and added, “I would like to court you and snatch you from his hands.”
Occasionally, men have to look overbearing so that women would fall for them. This was also the reason why tyrannical CEOs were typically material for soap operas. The reason why it had been popular in recent years was due to the fact that every woman hoped to have a man who loved them without any hesitation.
“Don’t force me! We’re engaged, and our parents are close friends. I will marry him after graduation.” Qiao Xue sourly explained.
“No, I insist on forcing you. Are you hesitating? That’s right; you like me too. So what if your parents are friends? We’re all adults, and we have to make choices based on our hearts.” Liao Huashi took a step forth and suddenly embraced Qiao Xue’s shoulders before kissing her lips.
All of a sudden, a sharp pain came from his lips before he was given a slap. Qiao Xue looked at him for a long time before she ran out.
“What should I do now? I was slapped by her!” Liao Huashi adjusted the Bluetooth earphone and bitterly smiled.
He had never done something like this over the years, and Qiao Xue’s action had made him feel embarrassed. After all, he’s someone who placed great importance on his face.
His words with Qiao Xue earlier were under the instructions through the earphone.
At this moment, Liao Huashi started to regret why he had listened to Su Tao. It was really sudden for him to kiss Qiao Xue.

“Quick, go and chase after her!” Su Tao sourly replied before he continued, “Chase after her and grab her wrist before forcefully kissing her once more. If she continues to slap you, tell her that you won’t let go even if she kills you. When a man woos a girl, you have to be firm. So what if you’re slapped? Who asked you to fall for her?”
“Alright, I’ll go all-out today.” Liao Huashi gnashed his teeth.
“Don’t be afraid of crowds!” Su Tao continued to give out ideas and continued, “Pick places with crowds. If she has feelings for you, she will definitely choose to surrender.”
When the sound of Liao Huashi catching his breath came from the phone, Su Tao hung the call and inwardly sighed, “Brother, this is as far as I can help you, the rest is all on you.”
When the party was almost done, Su Tao quietly left the hotel. Andrewson loved to drink, and if he was grabbed a hold of by that fellow, he would definitely not be able to get away.
After so many days of working, he was exhausted both physically and mentally. If it was someone else in his shoes, they would’ve collapsed by now.
All of a sudden, his phone vibrated with a message, “Thank you. She promised to give it a thought.”
Looking at the message, Su Tao smiled. This could be considered a joy amongst times of bitterness, and Liao Huashi did not lose anything on this trip. Not only did he win honor, but he also managed to get himself a girlfriend.
Returning to his room, he saw a figure squatting by the window. When Su Tao recognised that person, he exclaimed out in shock, “Tang Shi? What’s wrong with you?”
Straightening herself, Tang Shi squeezed out a smile. “I’m under orders to protect you.”
Listening to those words, Su Tao was stunned. Generally speaking, Yuan Lan or Hei Jin should be the ones responsible for his safety, so why did they send out Tang Shi, who had just been transferred to the status of an official member?
Then again, Su Tao wasn’t against it since he had a good relationship with Tang Shi. It was just that he could sense that something was amiss.
Opening the door to his room with a card, Tang Shi followed Su Tao into the room. When Su Tao noticed her sadness, he locked his brows together. “What’s the matter?”
Su Tao was in the mountain for days, so he did not receive any updates from Fire Beacon. Furthermore, Fire Beacon seemed to be sealing some information on purpose.
All of a sudden, Tang Shi’s nose became sour, as if she had found reliance and sobbed, “For the mission to find the cure, Big Brother Jianwei was heavily injured, and Big Brother Hei Jin has been captured.”
“How did this happen?” Su Tao was shocked.

“Generally speaking, we shouldn’t tell you about this matter, but I feel that you must have a way to rescue Hei Jin.”
Liu Jianwei might be heavily injured, but he’s still alive. On the other hand, Hei Jin was captured. In her heart, Hei Jin wasn’t just a colleague, but also her mentor.
After listening to Tang Shi explain the Ying Family Medicine Group’s schemes, Su Tao was furious, “That sort of person should die!”
He already knew that Ying Xiong was behind this national crisis, but he never expected that Ying Xiong would be so bold and was so rampant.
“Due to the fact that Ying Xiong has some international forces backing him up, the organisation was afraid that they might take revenge against you, so they assigned me here to protect your safety.” Tang Shi explained her purpose of being here.
Su Tao and Andrewson had both found the cure together, causing Ying Xiong’s scheme to fail. Hence, there’s a high possibility that those forces might take revenge against the two of them.
“What about Andrewson’s team? Is there anyone protecting them?” Su Tao immediately asked.
“Andrewson is an international virology specialist. Now that he has successfully resolved this crisis, those forces won’t dare to take revenge on Andrewson, even if they’re bold. Otherwise, they will only cause public rage.” Tang Shi explained.
After falling into silence for a long time, Su Tao replied, “Ying Xiong has been captured, so did he reveal Hei Jin’s current location?”
“He did! Hei Jin has already been brought to the base of the mercenary organisation he hired in Central Europe.” Tang Shi answered and continued, “He wants to exchange himself for Hei Jin.”
Ying Xiong had caused countless deaths and sufferings for his own benefits. If it goes according to the law, he would definitely be sentenced to death.
“What did the higher hierarchy say about this?” Su Tao sighed.
Tang Shi did not reply to him and only shook her head.
Guessing the result, Su Tao responded, “I can’t agree to this decision.”
After Tang Shi left the room, Su Tao gave a call to Yan Wujin and directly stated his intention, “I want Hei Jin rescued!”
“Ying Xiong cannot be released!” Yan Wujin sighed before he went on, “He’s involved in so many crimes, and wouldn’t it be the same as releasing a tiger back to the mountain according to your request?”
“I will refuse to join Fire Beacon if you don’t promise me this!” Su Tao remained firm as he continued, “If Fire Beacon is an organisation without any humanity and camaraderie, there’s no need for me to join.”
“This is an instruction from the higher hierarchy!” Yan Wujin took a deep breath and explained, “If Ying Xiong is released, we would let down the tens of millions who suffered. Hei Jing's identity determined that he’s required to go through this suffering. But please be reassured that we will definitely do our best to find a solution to rescue him.”
After a brief pondering, Su Tao asked, “I have a question to ask you. Is killing a person more difficult, or is saving someone more difficult?”
After a brief stun, Yan Wujin sighed, “You want to swap Hei Jin back before getting someone to assassinate him?”
“Rather than rescuing Hei Jin, who might be heavily injured, from a mercenary base, why not let Ying Xiong back first before getting rid of him in the dark?” Su Tao’s voice turned cold and added, “Although my method might not be glorious, it can still get the job done.”
“I will consider your suggestion.” Yan Wujin sighed.
When he ended the call with Su Tao, a smile rose on Yan Wujin’s lips as he looked at Yuan Lan. “Do you acknowledge Su Tao’s method to resolve this problem?”
“He did not disappoint me.” Yuan Lan nodded.
“Munns has had his foundation set firmly in Central Europe for years with hundreds of mercenaries under him. If Ying Xiong returns, he will definitely have tons of bodyguards around him. So it will be challenging to assassinate him.” A sharp light flickered in Yan Wujin, he no longer looked as casual as before.
“I will not return without completing the mission!” Yuan Lan answered.
Ying Xiong was the criminal of the entire nation, so he cannot be forgiven.
“Bring a helper along!” Yan Wujin nodded his head and added, “Bring Liu Jianwei along with you.”
“He’s still heavily injured!” Yuan Lan was surprised.
“With Ling Yu’s medical skills, he will be able to recover in half a month. If he wants to truly join Fire Beacon, he will have to go through a tribulation of blood and fire.” Yan Wujin’s voice suddenly turned cold and continued, “He’s a talent, and he can only awaken his potential in a dangerous situation. If we nurture him well, he will definitely stand at the top of the other world.”
Yuan Lan knew that the reason why Yan Wujin was putting so much effort into nurturing Liu Jianwei was to allow Su Tao to gain easier control of Fire Beacon, providing a good assistant in the process.
Yuan Lan was emotional since Su Tao agreed to Ying Xiong’s demand for Hei Jin.
Su Tao had his own judgment in the interest of collective or personal emotions, and he wasn’t as inflexible as she had imagined. He’s someone who hated evil and cherished relationships. On this factor alone, he was similar to the old Fire Deity, Yan Wujin, and this was probably the reason why he was chosen as the successor.
Compared to the strict and regulated Dragon Group, Fire Beacon was more like a warm family.
The reason why the two organisations have two completely different management styles was closely related to the personality of their leaders.

(GMT-ish) Trigger warning. The Wolf Saga may not be suited for you if any of the following disturbs you: - The story will have fighting and killing. The gore will not be explicit, but there will be descriptions such as "head burst like a melon", "instantly turned to cinders", "blood splashed/fountained" etc. Most of the violence will be performed by the protagonist, some of it before he reaches his teens. If such scenes bother you, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have sexual content. It's there for a reason. Once again, these scenes will not be explicit. Genitals will be mentioned sometimes, but never described in detail. Nude bodies will be described in passing, without too many specific details. If you're afraid of nipples, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have a decent amount of cursing. If you haven't given up by now, this is unlikely to bother you. Still, I believe I should forewarn you that a number of curse words will be making appearance from time to time. - The story will have no small amount of loss for the main character. If you enjoy novels in which everything is fine, the protagonist makes it at the last moment and saves the day... This is not such a story. Life happens. As a reader, I'm annoyed with heroes making it in the nick of time, so for the sake of fairness I used dice on a number of occasions, making do with the result. Sometimes it was anticlimactic, sometimes it was tragic and it led to the story you see before you. Dedication: This story is written for Tired Mom and Wolf, whose arrival the rest of the pack is eagerly awaiting. Thanks: I would like to thank Tired Mom for her proofreading and encouragement over the years. I would like to thank you, Dear Reader, for taking the time to read this big pile of words.
