《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 634 - A Blatant Confession

After they’re done with the supper, Su Tao forcefully paid for the bill and even ordered for a packet for Jiang Qinghan to bring back for Yan Sha and Yan Wujin.
Due to the fact that they drank, they flagged a cab through their mobile application. When they got in the car, Zhang Zhen let out a drunken burp and asked, “Captain, I feel that Su Tao is keeping something from us. During the entire meal, we actually never learned of his friend’s name!”
Jiang Qinghan had naturally noticed it, to which she replied, “Close an eye, understood?”
“Got it!” Zhang Zhen smiled as he patted on his forehead.
On the other hand, Jiang Qinghan sighed. She felt that Su Tao was becoming more mysterious. The closer they got, the more she couldn’t see through him. The man sitting beside Su Tao might seem sloppy, but his pupils were clear and bright. The reason why Su Tao purposely hid his identity meant that that person must have a unique identity. Furthermore, he became especially cautious when he knew that Zhang Zhen was a police officer. Suddenly, a doubt rose in Jiang Qinghan’s heart. She was more determined to investigate Sun Xuefeng. Perhaps she would be able to understand Su Tao better in this manner.
Jiang Qinghan first sent Zhang Zhen home. Zhang Zhen wasn’t married, but he had dated a few girlfriends, but they were all chased away by him.
Zhang Zhen was a hard-working person when working, but he’s a pessimistic person when it comes to life. He thought that being a police officer meant facing constant risks, and that he might lose his life one day. So if he got married, wouldn’t that mean that he would harm his other half?
All his ex-girlfriends were the ones to take the initiative to pursue him, but they were ultimately all forced to leave by him. Jiang Qinghan even wanted to persuade him, but she did not manage to open her mouth in the end. She could give him orders when it comes to working as his superior, but she didn’t have the authority when it comes to life, not to mention that her ability to sort out her private life could only be considered ordinary.
Now that she thought about it, it’s all because of Su Tao walking into her family that brought warmth to her life. If it wasn’t for Su Tao, perhaps she might still be a workaholic.
It was already 10 p.m. when she reached home. Yan Sha’s room was still lit since her exams were a few days away, and she’s facing the pressure of it. Studying depended on talent, so despite the fact that Yan Sha was smart and hard-working, her results were ordinary. Furthermore, Jiang Qinghan had never given any pressure to her daughter when it came to studying.

“Yan Sha, come out for supper. I bought barbeque and crayfish!” Jiang Qinghan took out bowls as she transferred the food over.
“Crayfish?!” Yan Sha chuckled and continued, “Mom, you’re the best!”
“You shouldn’t eat supper so late when you’re facing examination, but your Senior Brother said that maybe relaxing can allow you to bring out your potential.” Jiang Qinghan explained with a smile.
“Senior Brother is so concerned about me!” Yan Sha swiftly peeled the shells as she started eating.
When Yan Wujin heard the commotion coming from the living room, he chuckled as he came over. Jiang Qinghan had already prepared the Laobaigan Liquor that he loved so much. As the two of them ate, Jiang Qinghan started to deal with the household work. Looking at his daughter-in-law, Yan Wujin inwardly sighed. Jiang Qinghan had truly changed; she was no longer that stubborn after she returned from Russia. She had shown more concern for her family now.
Yan Sha soon filled her stomach. She looked at her swollen belly and said, “I still have the last paper to finish. Now that I’ve recharged my energy, I will continue to work hard!”
“Why are you so hard-working?” Jiang Qinghan smiled.
“Senior Brother said that if I did well on my examination, he would bring me on a trip!” Yan Sha declared before she cautiously asked, “You won’t oppose it, right?”
Jiang Qinghan recalled that Su Tao had mentioned this to her when they were in Russia and smiled. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll agree to it as long as you do your best!”
“That’s a promise, then!” Yan Sha smiled.
After Yan Sha returned to her room, Yan Wujin wryly smiled. “Yan Sha’s mentality is pretty good, and I believe she will definitely be able to do well.”
Nodding her head, Jiang Qinghan replied, “Su Tao had previously spoken some encouragement and some counseling to her. I believe that she will do fine. In the past, whenever she encountered a major examination, she would be extremely nervous, which made her perform below her standards, so I hope that there will be a difference this time.”
“We must believe in Su Tao’s ability!” Yan Wujin smiled and continued, “Oh, right. Did the Qihuang Charity Funds’ auction do well?”
“Everything went well, but I never expected that we would lure out an international criminal organisation. All in all, it was a daunting experience without any mishaps. Through this event, the Qihuang Charity Funds had forged their reputation and sold everything at a high price. If it goes according to my expectations, they will follow-up to form strategic cooperation with a few enterprises and sign a stable donation with them.” Jiang Qinghan smiled.
Nodding his head in satisfaction, Yan Wujin smiled. “My eyesight didn’t fail me. The disciple that I found for you is pretty good, right?”

For some reason, Jiang Qinghan blushed as she smiled. “Dad, it was his talent in martial arts that attracted your attention, and you were the one that wanted him to be my disciple.”
“According to Su Tao’s potential, his attainments in his martial arts will soon surpass you.” Yan Wujin smugged.
Jiang Qinghan did not feel anything unhappy about that. When it comes to martial arts, there’s no order of arrival, and talent plays an important factor. Furthermore, there was indeed a difference when it came to men and women learning martial arts. A woman’s potential in martial arts and strength were both inferior when compared to men.
Then again, there’s no absolutes. Since ancient times, there were also women who have attained the title of Grandmaster.
After a brief chat with Yan Wujin, Jiang Qinghan went to wash up. When she returned to her room, she saw a message on her phone. It was a message from Su Tao, “Regardless of the uncertain future and storm, I am willing to share it together with you. I just hope that you will refrain from keeping it to yourself in the future.”
Jiang Qinghan could naturally tell the hidden meaning in this message, Isn’t this a blatant confession?
But just when she wanted to reply to the message, she refrained herself from doing so. She tried her best to convince herself that he had sent it to the wrong person.
As Su Tao rolled on the bed, he looked at his phone and inwardly sighed before muttering, “Master, why are you so cold? Are you pretending not to see it? You didn’t even question me about it, how cold!”
After rolling around the bed for a long time and being unable to sleep, Su Tao got up and went to the storage room in the courtyard. Opening the old-fashioned lock, he entered and flipped through the old books. In the end, he took out an ancient book with a yellowish cover and gently blew off the dust.
This book was incomplete, but the title could be clearly seen, Ancient Medical Manual. The collection worth of this definitely paled compared to the one written by Fu Shan, but it was more detailed. It was copied by a famous physician in the previous dynasty, Xu Rong. Furthermore, that physician even included his own understanding of the Ancient Medical Manual.
Su Tao was thinking of giving this to Song Sichen. Although it couldn’t replace what Song Sichen lost, it could still appease the latter.
The next morning, Su Tao followed his usual schedule and first met with Yan Wujin, who was fishing. After receiving training from Yan Wujin, he returned to the Three Flavour Hall and planned to meet with Asaka Ochi in a while to discuss with her the details about going to Japan. But just when he was about to leave, his phone vibrated, it was a call from Jiang Qinghan. His heart jolted and he wondered if Jiang Qinghan only saw the message he sent yesterday and wanted to question him?
“Su Tao, I have something urgent to ask you. Make a trip over immediately!” Jiang Qinghan’s voice sounded unusually stern.
Although Su Tao was a little nervous, he was also a little happy. After all, it’s inevitable for them to break through that barrier. If he could let Jiang Qinghan know about his feelings early, he would be able to let her sense his concern.
As the Volkswagen CC drove into the Yan Residence, the gates were opened and Jiang Qinghan stood in the living room with a worried expression. Suddenly, Su Tao realised that she wasn’t calling him over about the message he sent last night.
Walking over, Su Tao coughed, “Master, here I am!”
When Jiang Qinghan turned around, her brows were locked as she incessantly sighed.
“What’s wrong?” Su Tao asked, baffled.
“It’s hard to put it into words!” Jiang Qinghan also had no idea how to touch on this sensitive topic to her disciple and pointed at the table. “Look what’s in the bottle!”
Su Tao was briefly stunned before he removed the packaging of the bottle. The bottle was filled with white tablets. He took one out and licked it. He immediately figured out what it was and replied, “It should be contraceptive! Master, why did you buy them?”
Logically speaking, Jiang Qinghan did not need them. Yan Sun might still be alive, but him being alive was the same as him being dead. Furthermore, Jiang Qinghan didn’t have any close male friends, so why did she need contraceptives?
“That’s why I’m asking you about it!” Jiang Qinghan’s tone became solemn as she questioned, “I found them in Yan Sha’s room!”
Su Tao was instantly taken by surprise as he bitterly smiled. “Master, you wouldn’t be suspecting me, right? In my heart, Yan Sha is akin to my younger sister. You wouldn’t treat me as a beast, right?”
Jiang Qinghan’s face instantly blushed as she understood Su Tao. He might not be a real gentleman, but it’s not possible for him to have any intention towards Yan Sha.
“I was just joking with you.” Jiang Qinghan’s expression loosened up as she continued, “I found it when I was looking through Yan Sha’s room today and was shocked. I can only say that Yan Sha has grown up. Just how many secrets has she kept from me?”
After a brief pondering, Su Tao persuaded, “Master, the matter isn’t as complicated as you think!”

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.

The Saga of Geir Røshjert
"His name will never be sung, son. Skalds and bards like me will never tell his stories to the mass. But only us and us alone will keep telling his story, his actions, his saga. For he is the man who started all of this." This is a story no man in Lumenter will ever hear, no man except for an Arnesen, for his stories are dull and generic to the ears of the masses, except for us, because he is the very reason why our people traveled this far east, why kingdoms in Erisgi fell and rose, why I... even existed in the first place. He is Geir, son of Arne, called 'the Stranger' by the people. But what he truly is, is a fiery red heart that beats inside every Eyklandian, Arnesen, and me.
