《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 619 - The Almighty Chen Guang

Motors incessantly roared late at night on the road of the Fifth Circle. There were several sports cars racing on this road. One in particular had a woman seated in the front passenger seat with her upper body out of the window, waving her hand in excitement.
In Yangcheng City, underground racing had become legalised for some reason. Even all the citizens here have silently acknowledged it. The entire road would be barricaded, and the barricades would only be removed when the competition came to an end.
After the lead car raced to the finishing point, a young and handsome man came out of the car. He wore a modest smile as a woman grabbed onto his arm and praised, “Big brother Chao, your driving skills are simply superb! You got first again!”
Shao Jing smiled as a man from another car nearby walked over. Seeing his pale expression, Shao Jing asked, “So? Do you admit your loss now?”
The name of that man was Gong Jiayang. He’s from Xiangbei Province, and he had just recently come to Yangcheng City, so he wasn’t too familiar with Shao Jing. Just recently, he was involved in several conflicts with Shao Jing. So when Shao Jing heard that he liked to race, he held such an underground racing competition.
Spitting his saliva on the ground, Gong Jiayang looked at Shao Jing in disdain and ridiculed, “Aren’t you just competing with who has more people on our side? Do you dare to race with me one-on-one?”
The race earlier wasn’t fair. Although it was said to be a race between him and Shao Jing, there were other cars participating. All of them had been obstructing his path, and if it wasn’t for his superb driving skills, he would be a cripple by now.
As for Shao Jing’s skills, that fellow was not even at the entry level, and he won purely by relying on blocking his opponent with cars. Hence, this was the reason why Gong Jiayang couldn’t catch up and lost.
Putting it in a nutshell, Shao Jing relied on schemes to win this race.
As Shao Jing walked over to Gong Jiayang, two people immediately went over and grabbed onto the latter’s arm. Stretching his hand out, Shao Jing gently patted on Gong Jiayang’s face and smiled. “In Xiangbei Province, I might give you some face because of your father. But this is Yangcheng City! You were lucky. I tried to get rid of you, but you managed to survive.”
Upon hearing those words, Gong Jiayang trembled as beads of sweat started to gather on his nose. He finally realised that this was a trap. Looking around, he noticed that everyone he brought over had disappeared, and he’s currently in a helpless position.
Raising his leg, Shao Jing kneed Gong Jiayang’s lower abdomen, to which the latter cried out in pain as he dropped to the ground and started to vomit.

Glancing over with disdain, Shao Jing continued, “Accept your defeat, and honor your promise. We’ve agreed on an exclusive investment of ¥100,000,000 beforehand. If you refuse to pay, then I’m afraid that I can only give a call to your father to get him to fetch you.”
“You’re despicable!” Gong Jiayang glared at Shao Jing.
“Pft!” Shao Jing laughed and asked, “You dare to gamble in Yangcheng City with just that intelligence of yours?”
Shao Jing gave a signal to a person by the side, to which that person grinned and pulled out a dagger. As that person grabbed onto Gong Jiayang’s hand, the dagger flickered, leaving Gong Jiayang screaming out in pain. He had underestimated Shao Jing’s brutality, the latter immediately cut off his finger the moment there’s a disagreement.
Shao Jing squatted down. Not knowing when, he was wearing a white glove as he picked up the finger before putting it in a low temperature box and said, “According to the current development on medical technology, you can recover about 80-90% of your finger’s function if you stitch it back as soon as possible. That being said, you don’t have much time to make a decision.”
At this moment, Gong Jiayang finally knew how cold-blooded Shao Jing was. He looked at the blood pouring out of his finger and groaned in pain, “I’ll transfer immediately!”
“To know how to bow when you’re in someone’s territory. At least you can still be saved.” Shao Jing smirked.
Shao Jing instructed someone to give a phone to Gong Jiayang. The latter first made a call to someone. After all, ¥100,000,000 wasn’t a small amount, and he only had about ¥20,000,000 cash flow in his bank. Hence, he had to give a call to a friend of his father’s to seek help. Then again, Gong Jiayang did have the capital to come to Yangcheng City. The person that he called did not even utter a single word and immediately transferred ¥80,000,000 over to his bank.
Fifteen minutes later, someone whispered to Shao Jing’s ear, “The money is in!”
With a relaxed smile, Shao Jing walked over to Gong Jiayang. He first lashed out a kick on the latter’s face before putting his feet on Gong Jiayang’s face. “Don’t let me see you in the future. Otherwise, you won’t be so lucky next time.”
As Shao Jing left while laughing, the surrounding vehicles sped away. Raising his head, Gong Jiayang wore a humiliated expression as he immediately grabbed the box with his finger in it.
Since it’s time for the roadblock to be removed, the barricades were naturally removed. When the first vehicle appeared, Gong Jiayang braved the possibility of being run over and stopped the car. Although the driver was instantly shocked by Gong Jiayang’s appearance, he still helped to call for an ambulance.

Lying on the stretcher, Gong Jiayang’s face was filled with humiliation. At the same time, he had engraved this incident in his heart. What comes around goes around, and he would definitely take his revenge.
In the sports car, the woman looked at Shao Jing and asked, “Can I follow you tonight?”
Sweeping a glance at the woman, Shao Jing only came to know this woman about two to three hours ago. With a smile on his face, he asked, “Where do you stay? I’ll send you home!”
Shrugging her shoulders, the woman replied, “I rented an apartment with someone, and I forgot to bring my keys!”
With his left hand on the steering wheel, Shao Jing’s right hand suddenly grabbed onto the woman’s entry-level Louis Vuitton bag. As he shook the bag, the contents all fell out with a patch box, napkin, sunglasses, wallet, phone, keys, and also a small box of Durex.
“The keys are here!” Shao Jing smiled.
The woman’s face instantly turned red and she was at a loss.
Shao Jing only wanted to probe her. This woman didn’t seem that experienced. With just a glance, he could tell that this woman was a newcomer in the circle, which fitted his taste. Shrugging his shoulders, he smiled. “If you’re not that tired, we can find a place and grab a drink or two.”
Hearing his words, the woman’s gaze changed and she nodded her head.
Meanwhile, the father of Shao Jing, Shao Weidong’s phone rang out. It’s 2 a.m., and Shao Weidong is currently sleeping. However, he had a habit of keeping his phone turned on. The woman lying beside Shao Weidong was his second wife. She was woken up by the ringtone, to which she muttered a few words and turned around to continue sleeping.
When Shao Weidong saw that it was his partner calling, he did not dare to neglect and immediately came out to pick up the call in the living room. “Mr. Cao, what’s the matter for you to call me at this time?”
“Something big happened. Just earlier, there’s a traffic accident in the Fifth Circle that caused at least a dozen people to be injured. But fortunately, there weren’t any deaths.”
“What? What happened?” Shao Weidong was shocked. At the same time, he started to feel uneasy in his heart. A traffic accident wasn’t a huge problem, but at the same time, it’s not a small problem either. But why did Cao Rong call him? Even if Cao Rong felt that this was an excellent topic to have an idle chat about, there’s no need for him to be called at this time. If it’s a high-profile case, the latter could just give him a call tomorrow morning.
Letting out a deep sigh, Cao Rong replied, “There’s an initial outcome of this incident, and this is related to a few youngsters racing. But shockingly, they managed to contact the traffic department to barricade the road for them. Barricading the road in the middle of the night would result in the roads to be complicated, so how can it not cause an incident? Just think how ridiculous this matter is, and I’ve also obtained accurate information that your son, Shao Jing, is involved in this matter!”
When Shao Weidong heard about racing, he could feel a chill travelling down his spine since he knew that his son loved to race. Furthermore, his son also liked to occasionally organise underground racing competitions in Nanyue Province. Shao Weidong felt that the reason why he could integrate into Nanyue Province was partly because of his son’s efforts, but he never expected that his son would cause such a big mess.
“If evidence shows that it’s related to Shao Jing, I will definitely not cover up for him.” Shao Weidong burst out with cold sweat. At this point in time, he could only choose to abandon his son for himself.
After a brief moment of silence, Cao Rong continued, “Furthermore, I just received a call to submit a report on Love Representative Charity Funds and the few other charity foundations.”
“Why would someone be concerned about the Love Representative Charity Funds?” Shao Weidong felt his eyelids twitching.
“It’s said that someone above is a loyal reader of Chen Guang’s Nanyue’s City News. Don’t you know how influential his articles are? This matter involves a series of matters, and you better sort it out well. As for your son, I recommend that you keep him in the country. The moment he leaves, it will no longer be his problem alone.” Cao Rong replied.
At this moment, Shao Weidong finally knew why Cao Rong gave him a call. The former wanted him to keep Shao Jing in the country. Ever since Shao Weidong married his second wife, his relationship with his son has deteriorated. Although his son would occasionally cause some problems for him, he would try his best to cover up his son.
But this time, Shao Jing’s matter was too serious. Not only was his partner aware about this matter, but even a leader in China knew about it. So it’s impossible for him to cover up for his son.
At the same time, Shao Weidong finally knew how the reporter, Chen Guang, played a part in this matter. He never expected that a reporter could be so powerful.
Suddenly, his wife walked out while caressing her bulged belly and asked, “Old Shao, what’s the matter?”
Waving his hand, Shao Weidong’s gaze fell on her belly and smiled. “Nothing much. Go sleep, I have to make a trip to handle some stuff.”
When his wife returned to sleep, Shao Weidong inwardly sighed. He could be considered a revitalised old tree. At the same time, he hoped that his second child would not follow Shao Jing’s footsteps.
