《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 599 - Medium-lower standard

After Lin Yifu left, Vera wore a meaningful smile as she looked at Su Tao. Su Tao felt something wrong with Vera as she removed her heels and constantly brushed her feet on the floor.
“What are you doing?” Su Tao smiled.
“Before we bid our farewell, don’t you think that we should do something meaningful?” Vera bashfully bit on her lips.
After all, it’s somewhat monotonous for them to face each other and drink coffee.
Naturally, Su Tao understood her hint, which he held onto Vera’s hand and smiled. “Let’s go. Let’s do something meaningful!”
Compared to Eastern women, Western women were more bold and open-minded, and this was their charm.
Grabbing Vera, they came to a four-starred hotel. The moment they entered the room, they couldn’t restrain themselves from tangling together. But just when Su Tao was about to remove his clothes, his phone suddenly rang, which broke the romantic atmosphere.
Looking at his phone, it was a call from an unknown number. He did not want to pick it up, but after the ringtone was over, the call came over again.
“Answer it. Who knows, it might be from someone important!” Vera sighed.
Upon hearing those words, Su Tao immediately became worried. After all, he’s also a member of the diplomatic team, and if anything happens to the team, he would have to immediately rush over. When he picked up the call, a gentle voice resounded, “May I ask if you’re Physician Su?”
“I am, but who are you?” The voice sounded familiar to Su Tao, but he couldn’t recall who it belonged to.
“I’m Asaka Ochi!” The woman immediately answered and asked, “I’m Kohei Koizumi’s wife. Do you still remember me?”
Instantly, Su Tao realised who called him, and at the same time, the figure of a Japanese woman appeared in his mind.
He smiled. “Of course I do! Is there anything for you to call me? Can it be that Mr. Koizumi’s condition deteriorated?”
While Su Tao was chatting with Asaka Ochi, he was also paying attention to Vera at the same time. The latter found a basin, filled it with water and purposely dripped it on him. That numbing and cooling sensation felt comfortable, and if he wasn’t keeping himself under control, he would really want to let out a rough breath at this moment.
Vera seemed to be trying to tease Su Tao as she constantly stimulated him with some intention of taking revenge.
“No, my husband’s condition has improved. My call is to express my gratitude to you, and at the same time, I would like to ask you about the donation to the Qihuang Charity Funds that you previously mentioned. My husband has already made his decision, and he wishes to know more about the specific operations.” Asaka Ochi held onto her phone, which she could hear that there seemed to be something wrong with Su Tao’s breathing. His panting made her feel curious if he was exercising at this moment.

Even if Su Tao tried his best to contain his emotions, Vera was pouring more and more water on him. In the end, he was drenched in water.
He had to admit that Vera was playful, and he felt that he would be toyed to death by Vera if he continued with the call.
“Sure… I’ll give you the contact details later. I’m currently in Russia, so I can’t give you an answer at the moment. I’m sorry about that.” Su Tao immediately ended the conversation.
“Alright, I’ll wait for your news!” Just when Asaka Ochi was about to hang up the call, she suddenly heard rustling sounds coming from the other side. Out of curiosity, she remained on the phone until she heard a woman’s voice.
Hearing that, she immediately ended the call with her hands trembling. She felt embarrassed about bumping into someone’s privacy, but Su Tao’s crude breathing was continuously looping around her head. Although she married Kohei Koizumi, she had never experienced the deed between men and women. And for some reason, this call roused that desire in her heart.
Even she had special moments with her needs, which she would occasionally enjoy herself a little. But she would feel embarrassed whenever her voice was a little too loud and her desire for those sensations.
However, Asaka Ochi misunderstood Su Tao. Vera was currently messing with him, but it made Asaka Ochi’s thoughts run wild.
At the same time, her impression of Su Tao collapsed in her heart. Even Divine Physician Su had that side to him. Furthermore, she also felt curious about the deed that made so many men and women in the world frantically pursue it.
Meanwhile, Su Tao and Vera were in the dark that their actions were exposed.
At this moment, they’re in a different dimension, with only the two of them.
In Su Tao’s eye, Vera was akin to an angel, descended from heavens. She was glowing from every single part of her body. On the other hand, Su Tao was akin to a brave knight in Vera’s heart with his ferocity.
God-knows how long later, Su Tao laid on the bed, covered in water. Vera poured a little too much water on him earlier.
At the same time, he now knew why people liked to play with water and even created a festival for it, Songkran.
“Are all Chinese men so powerful? I felt that I was about to be torn apart by you earlier!” Vera curiously asked.
“Yeah!” Su Tao knew that aside from him, Vera had no other experience in this matter. Hence, he said with a thick face, “Don’t look down on Chinese men. Not only are they incomparable to Western men in size, they’re also more ferocious!”
Teased by his words, Vera laughed before she hammered Su Tao on his chest and exposed, “Do you think that I’m a three-year-old kid? I’ve seen reports saying that compared to Western men, Asian men are… smaller.”

At this moment, how could Su Tao not figure out that Vera dug a hole for him to jump in?
He frowned. “This is a misunderstanding! That report was meant to slander Asians! If you don’t believe it, you can take a look at mine and see if the report is true.”
Since Vera did not really dare to do that, she briefly pondered before she charmingly smiled with her face blushed. “Perhaps you’re a special case!”
Shaking his head, Su Tao solemnly replied, “I can only be considered in the medium-lower standard amongst Chinese men. I would even feel inferior whenever I go to public baths!”
“Alright, I admit that the report was wrong, are you happy now?” Vera smiled.
Nodding his head in satisfaction, Su Tao gently touched Vera’s cheek. He felt that it was worth insulting himself in honor of all Chinese men.
This was also a form of displaying his love for his nation.
In the end, Su Tao could only secretly meet with Vera since he came together with the diplomatic team to Russia.
At the same time, Su Tao felt as if Vera had blossomed. Her character was no longer in the darkness since she had walked into the light.
Because of Asaka Ochi’s disruption, Su Tao set his phone in silence. Looking at his phone, he saw numerous missed calls. Aside from Yue Zun, there were also calls from Jiang Qinghan so Su Tao wore his clothes and gave a call back to her.
“I intend to return tomorrow!” Jiang Qinghan’s voice sounded exhausted and continued, “The city police station just called saying that there were several cases that even alarmed the province. Right now, the city police station is under great pressure, and something big might happen if I don’t return.”
Jiang Qinghan had locked herself in her room for days, to which Su Tao left her alone. He knew that Jiang Qinghan was a strong woman, and she just needed some privacy right now. Once she digested everything, she would return to the persona of a heroic policewoman.
“Then, shall I return with you?” Su Tao immediately frowned. He knew that Jiang Qinghan was just finding an excuse to return. Right now, Jiang Qinghan was a trump card in Hanzhou City’s police station, and there wasn’t a single case that she cannot solve.
“No need. Unlike me, you have great importance in the representative team. It’s fine for me to leave, but if you leave, the representative team might be affected.” Jiang Qinghan immediately rejected Su Tao’s request.
“Earth will continue to revolve even if someone is missing.” Su Tao smiled and continued, “Since we came together, then it’s natural for us to return together.”
“Then, I’ll book flights for tomorrow morning!” Jiang Qinghan said after a brief pause.
“Alright, I’ll inform Professor Yue about it at a later time. I believe that he will deal with the follow-up for us.” Su Tao agreed.
After hanging up the call with Jiang Qinghan, Su Tao called Yue Zun.
“It’s nothing. I initially wanted to chat with you, but you weren’t there when I visited your room earlier.” Yue Zun smiled.
Looking at Vera with an awkward expression, Su Tao smiled. “I’m currently meeting a friend!”
“You’re still young, and it’s rare for you to go overseas. You should enjoy it while you can.” Yue Zun smiled.
“Oh, right. I have something that I would like to request!” Su Tao then told Yue Zun about his intention to leave with Jiang Qinghan tomorrow.
After a brief pondering, Yue Zun sighed, “It’s not a problem for you to leave. Right now, everything is progressing well, but it will be perfect if you can persevere to the end and return with us.”
Generally speaking, when this sort of activity comes to an end, there would be a banquet for celebration. The Vice Premier would give a summary of the entire trip during the banquet. He would also be commending those with significant contributions. If Su Tao could persevere to the end and return with them, he would undoubtedly enjoy this glory.
Su Tao knew what Yue Zun was talking about. It truly did feel somewhat anticlimactic for him to do this, but he remained firm, “Please understand my decision!”
“It’s fine.” Yue Zun knew that Su Tao only came to Russia with them due to his personal matter. At the same time, it was also because of Su Tao that he felt less pressured. Otherwise, just the incident where the Vice Premier was ill alone, he wasn’t confident that he could perfectly resolve it.
“Just return peacefully! All your deeds in Russia have been recorded, and you will definitely not be missed out on your contribution when we return!”
Truth be told, Su Tao wasn’t too concerned about that empty glory. However, not only did this trip to Russia expand his connections, but he also managed to find Yan Sun for Jiang Qinghan. Even if the result was cruel to Jiang Qinghan, at the very least, he managed to resolve the resentment in her heart. Only by dispelling that figure in her heart, could others enter.

Colors blur into one another until my vision is completely white. All I can think is "Shit, not this again!" I hate being summoned. _________________________________ updates once a week until I get more time The idea for this story began in two places. One was the ridiculously rapid pace of gaining power in many novels. Both in games and in novels, I enjoy the struggle of the beginning character, why always the rush? The other was the way many monster or non-human MCs always seem to hurry to become human (again). It always felt like a cheap way to grant the character extra powers without the difficulty of writing a non-standard thought process. Thus I wanted to write the slow(ish) progression of a monster character gaining strength and intelligence, while remaining distinctly non-human. There are no stats, xp or systems, no reincarnated soul or completely formed being to start with - unless I want to make fun of those. While the MC 'evolves', the process takes months if not years to proceed step by little step. Sit down with me and imagine, what would it be like if...
