《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 592 - Coward

Shui Junzhuo was well-dressed when she entered Stefan’s office. Her figure wasn’t at all inferior to the beauties in Russia with her hair draped by her shoulders, permeating a charming grace.
“Please, have a seat!” Stefan squeezed out a smile.
“Mr. Stefan, I won’t beat around the bush with you. Right now, we’re in a dire position. If you lose your position, that means that our cooperation will collapse, while my main task in coming to Russia is to ensure the success of this project.” Shui Junzhuo sternly said since she had to get Stefan to regain his confidence.
Shrugging his shoulders, Stefan helplessly replied, “As you know, the controversy is currently unfavorable towards me. Dobrynin is currently using rumors against me, and I don’t have any better solutions at this moment.”
“The method to resolve this issue is easy. Since they’re saying that you’re ill, then wouldn’t it all fall apart if you’re not?” Shui Junzhuo smiled.
Stefan inwardly sighed. How would he not know about this? But it’s a pity that he’s genuinely ill, and his illness was especially severe. However, he did not reveal it straightforwardly as he brushed it off, “The public doesn’t know the truth. Even if I’m not sick, there's nothing I can do under the misguidance from my opponent. As the saying goes, silence is gold, and not making any move right now is the best method to deal with the rumors.”
Shui Junzhuo sighed. Stefan was genuinely someone that regarded face as the utmost importance. At the same time, someone like him deserved to suffer. With a faint smile, Shui Junzhuo helplessly replied, “Since you’re prepared, then there’s nothing better for me to say. With that, I’ll bid my farewell and good luck to you!”
“Wait!” Stefan immediately called out to Shui Junzhuo. His intuition told him that Shui Junzhuo might have a method to treat his condition. But even if Shui Junzhuo had a solution, he did not dare to try. After all, if Shui Junzhuo knew that he’s ill, then he would be in a disadvantageous position in the negotiation.
“Is there anything?” Shui Junzhuo knew that Stefan was bitterly struggling within his heart at this moment and continued, “Oh, right. Do you remember that young physician from back then? I heard from him that if you want to feel more comfortable, you should stop taking medicine. Drink a cup of vodka and having a good sleep might have a decent effect. Then again, it’s only a temporary measure.”
When she finished what she had to say, Shui Junzhuo bid her farewell and left the office.
Looking at Shui Junzhuo’s silhouette, Stefan was wondering if that physician from China was really that miraculous. As someone that Ivanov had to treat with importance, it’s worth it for him to give it a thought. At the same time, he also felt an urge to try the suggestion given to him by her.

Since the outbreak of his disease, he practically stopped drinking any alcohol. He would often get tempted, but he got to know from Gregory that his condition might be related to the overconsumption of alcohol. Hence, he gave up on alcohol entirely for his own health.
On the other hand, Su Tao wanted him to drink. Hence, Stefan was in a dilemma with doubt for Su Tao, and yet, he was also tempted to try.
After entering the car, Yuan Lan, who sat in the driver’s seat, coldly asked, “How’s Stefan?”
“His hands were trembling. Even if he tried his best to conceal it, it wouldn’t hide for long. Anyone meticulous would be able to notice it.” Shui Junzhuo sighed.
“Then, is he willing to get Su Tao to treat him?” Yuan Lan asked, curiously.
Shaking her head, Shui Junzhuo replied, “Stefan is someone with principles. He would rather lose his position than to let me get hold of information that can be used against him. He’s an eligible executive, and this is also the reason why he could wield so much authority.”
“Then, did you tell him about the suggestion that Su Tao gave?” Yuan Lan inwardly sighed.
“I did, and judging from his facial expression, he seems to be tempted by it.” Shui Junzhuo analysed and further went on, “After all, the Stefan right now desperately needs something to hold on to.”
Nodding her head, Yuan Lan smiled. “That’s good, then! I believe that he will change his mind!”
Looking at Yuan Lan, Shui Junzhuo was stunned. It’s rare to see a smile on Yuan Lan’s face, and it seems that there’s something to this matter that she didn’t know about.
She didn’t know that the suggestion given by Su Tao was a trap.
Judging from the appearance, Stefan’s condition would stabilise for two to three days with alcohol in his body, and he could even show up on all sorts of occasions like a normal person.
However, it’s just a temporary solution.
As an elite in Russia, using alcohol to numb his senses for an extended period was not a permanent solution. Hence, Su Tao dug a trap for Stefan, which the latter would ultimately seek his help.
The reason why Su Tao requested Yuan Lan to hide it from Shui Junzhuo was that he didn’t want the latter to have any thoughts about it so that she could convince Stefan to accept this suggestion. At the same time, fewer people should know about this matter.
Saint Petersburg was located in the northwest of Russia. This was the second-largest city in Russia. The entire city was formed with 42 islands, joined together with more than 360 bridges. Hence, this city was covered with rivers, canals, and islands randomly located. This city was also known as Northern Venice.
Su Tao and Jiang Qinghan sat in a car with the former occasionally looking at the latter. Jiang Qinghan was looking at the scenery outside, but Su Tao knew that Jiang Qinghan must be at a loss right now, feeling nervous about the meeting.

Finally, when they arrived at the café that they previously agreed on, Jiang Qinghan saw a familiar silhouette by the corner. Although it has been over a decade, his figure seemed more buffed. From details alone, there didn’t seem to be any changes to his charming face.
At the same time, Su Tao also saw Yan Sun. The latter wore a T-shirt that outlined his muscles, which made Su Tao inwardly mutter, “So it’s really a muscle man!”
When Yan Sun saw Jiang Qinghan and Su Tao, there were no changes in his eyes. He was cold and emotionless, as if he was looking at two strangers.
A gorgeous Russian woman sat beside Yan Sun, who seemed to be in her thirties. She’s a rare species that hasn’t gained weight as she got older. She had a pair of eyes that gleamed brightly, snow-white skin, and her blonde hair that reflected with radiance. The only flaw would be the wrinkles by the edge of her eyes.
But compared to Jiang Qinghan, she had a unique charm that’s rarely seen in Russian women.
Jiang Qinghan wore a refreshing shirt, tight-fitted pants, and an ordinary pair of sandals that stood out as well. Her curves had a unique aura of an outstanding Eastern beauty.
However, Yan Sun’s gaze was on that Russian woman with intoxication and gentleness in his eyes. He was holding onto her hand while gently caressing her hand.
At this moment, Agata felt a sweetness in her heart. Although she knew that it was an act, she couldn’t help feeling obsessed with him.
She was a willing party to be with Yan Sun every single time. Compared to that person who raped her and made her pregnant, which she was ultimately forced to marry, Yan Sun was more heroic.
With her face paled, Jiang Qinghan sat down. It felt terrible to see her husband behaving so intimately with another woman. However, she was suppressing her rage and comforted herself that at the very least, he’s still alive, and Yan Sha still had a father.
“Do you guys want coffee?” Yan Sun waved his hand at the waiter for the menu.
Letting out a sigh, Su Tao couldn’t read Russian, which he pointed at two different coffees.
In the end, Jiang Qinghan couldn’t hold herself back from asking, “Yan Sun, why didn’t you go home since you’re alive?”
“Firstly, my name is Paul, not Yan Sun. Secondly, I don’t know why you’re looking for me. As to why I’m willing to meet the two of you, it’s all because of that fool, Andre. He’s my employee, and I have to ensure that he can continue to work for me.” Yan Sun replied indifferently.
“Yan Sun, you scumbag!” Jiang Qinghan lost her composure and lashed out, “Do you think that you can pretend to lose your memory and take on another identity? I don’t need you to bear any responsibility, but I just hope that you can go back to take a look at Yan Sha. She has your blood flowing in her veins, but she only has a few photos as a memory of you.”
Looking at Jiang Qinghan in annoyance, Yan Sun replied, “Madam, I would like to remind you once more that I’m not Yan Sun, your husband, nor am I someone’s father. My name is Paul, and I already have someone I love. This lady here is my wife, and we even have a cute son together. Don’t think that I won’t touch a woman if you dare to humiliate me once more!”
Even Su Tao couldn’t keep calm and ridiculed, “A man can be shameless and cheap, but you can’t lose your bottom line. By acting and refusing to admit your past, you’re a humiliation to us men.”
Glaring at Su Tao, Yan Sun’s eyes bolted as he said, “Please take your words back! The reason why I’m putting up with her insult is because I won’t easily lay a hand on women. But if you take that as I have a good temper, then I can give you a taste of it.”
At this moment, Jiang Qinghan had gradually calmed down. She imagined all possible outcomes, but she never guessed that it would result in this manner. Yan Sun had utterly changed into another person, a cold person without any of the warmth he had in the past. He had turned into someone ruthless.
“You are a coward!” Su Tao said, word for word.
With a cold snort, Yan Sun’s punch swiftly flew out, directed at Su Tao’s face. At the same time, Su Tao also swiftly reacted and threw his fist out. As the two fists collided, veins trembled on the two of their foreheads. Su Tao was enduring the intense pain coming from his fist, but Yan Sun wasn't feeling any better and was cursing in his heart.
Coffee suddenly flew out and splashed on Yan Sun’s face. Jiang Qinghan had calmed down and she decisively turned around, then said to Su Tao, “Let’s go!”
Agata immediately helped Yan Sun to clean up. She didn’t know Mandarin, so she had no idea what’s going on. At this instant, her gaze was filled with concern. When Yan Sun saw this, he inwardly sighed before he suddenly gave a complicated smile to Agata and said, “Let’s register for marriage tomorrow. You will be my wife, and Janis will be my son!”

The Trespasser
Synopsis Following his di—instincts, David finds himself in a weird situation; the next thing he knows, he's in a different world, dying, and manhandled by a big-ass alien. When the Source comes to his aid, granting him the access that—like every other sapient—he's due, David barely manages to get out of the fight with his life intact, but is that enough? Of course it isn't. The very Source giving him powers is also poisoning him to death. Oh, there she is, the petite female alien. Will that be enough to save him? Of course it won't. If he wants to be saved, he has first to save himself. The only way to do so is by getting to know the world around him, but even before that... Why the bloody hell did I have to be called Deviant!? *** Blurb? Blurb. The Trespasser starts slowly, I believe I've written a decent world, and I want you to find out what it's all about, won't just throw it in your face because of *levels*. I do not like stories that don't make sense. David is not a murderhobo, he respects life and answers to the world and the weird situations thrown at him with irony and sarcasm; so you are looking for easy killing streaks, you will not find them here. So, a man finds himself into the wild? It's a different world, and yet he can breathe its air? Finds himself in a lucky-low-level zone? Oh, look at that, people speak English—how likely is that? So, nope, not for me, gentleman. You won't find anything of the likes here. Again, a man finds himself in a new world but only thinks about the system? Yeah, that's not exactly how it works. David will try to find out what it's really all about, what the aliens want, how they work, why is that Fay really helping him? You can kill somebody to get levels, and yet there is not even a form of police? Not gonna happen here. Man becomes suddenly overpowered in a world where people can live for thousands of years by having enough luck to face only lower-level people? Hahaha—nope. Lastly...Spaceships and fantasy with LitRPG... say what!? Well, what's wrong with that? Let's make it happen, shall we? *** You want even more info? Really? Alright... David will start from the very bottom of the food chain, so there will be a settling arc—it's inevitable. David will find true companions, with personalities and backstories, and they will have a life of their own. There will be enemies, and those enemies will have a life of their own, too; there will be no evil just because. The world-building will have true depth; it will not exist just because the protagonist visits it. There will be both Fantasy and (Soft) Sci-fi—yeah, you heard that right. There will be rationality to every action taken, as long as the characters are aware of what is going on. There will be a godly system. You will come to read because of the world-building, but you will stay for the characters. The dead stay dead, and you will weep for them. There will be no action without a reaction. Lastly, there will be laughs. Are you still up for it? Then get in but fasten your seatbelts because it's going to be a wild ride. *** Release Days: Twice a week Release Time: ~09:00 PM UTC Words per chapter: ~3000 This web novel is also available on other platforms.

Her innately high ether reserves are the only thing that’s keeping her alive. After a painful yet successful contract, she receives an offer to hunt a peculiar beast from a mysterious man who- much to her dismay- pairs her with a man by the name of Sirius, a skilled swordsman with too much empathy to give out. However, the two groups will find that their paths will intertwine, and painful memories will push them against each other at every turn, with new monsters emerging from the shadows to pick each of them apart piece by piece. ************************** Alright, so this is the first book I've posted here, and I've been sitting on this idea for a long while. I'm open to any pieces of criticism, and I would be glad to receive tips and advice. Enjoy! Normally, new chapters come out Saturday nights, sometimes double uploads if there's a short chapter or if I feel like it. That's subject to change if I run out of the current backlog. Second note, this is the first draft, and some things (like a few characters) are going to be cut. It's still going to be the same storyline, but keep that in mind.
