《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 578 - The Mastermind

The instant the Nineteenth Dragon collapsed, a football swiftly flew over and struck Su Tao’s chest, causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood.
That performer, who was performing football tricks swiftly charged over with a dagger that was reflecting a silvery shine in his hand. Despite his robust figure, his speed was shocking. The spectators around him were instantly pushed away.
That performer was the Eighteenth Dragon in disguise. He initially thought that the Nineteenth Dragon could successfully accomplish the mission, but to his surprise, the latter failed.
Right now, his priority was to clean up the battlefield. He couldn’t allow the Nineteenth Dragon to be captured, or the latter could be used against them.
Naturally, if the situation allows, he could also take the chance to finish the job.
However, he noticed that two people were rushing over from the right and inwardly sighed. He knew that Su Tao’s reinforcements had arrived. Hence, he immediately came to a decision and grabbed the Nineteenth Dragon.
The two people were Tang Shi and Hei Jin.
This time, the Nineteenth Dragon’s assassination attempt was too unexpected to the point that they couldn’t respond in time. By the time they did, Su Tao was already heavily injured.
Although Hei Jin blocked the Eighteenth Dragon’s path, the latter’s movements weren't clumsy because he was carrying someone. With a flash, the dagger thrust forth at Hei Jin’s fatal spot. Hei Jin did not dare to be careless when facing the Eighteenth Dragon, he could only try his best to stop the latter from escaping.
At this moment, another variable occurred. A red vehicle suddenly drove out from the right and fired a shot, instantly putting the crowd in chaos and everyone started to flee. Although the road condition wasn’t excellent, the driver of the vehicle was skilled and the entire vehicle moved like an agile snake through the crowd, charging at Hei Jin, which forced the latter to dodge. After that, the Eighteenth Dragon proficiently opened the door and disappeared into the vehicle in just a few breaths.
Soon after, the vehicle roared and disappeared.
Without any hesitation, Hei Jin gave up on chasing and immediately rushed to Su Tao. Seeing Tang Shi’s worried face, he asked, “How’s the situation?”
“He suffered a bullet in his thigh, chest, and lower abdomen.” Tang Shi nervously said and continued, “He needs treatment right now, or his life might be in danger!”
“Send him to the hospital immediately, then!” Hei Jin carried Su Tao.
At the same time, Jiang Qinghan also reacted and said, “I’ll follow you guys!”
A few minutes later, Su Tao was sent to the closest hospital. This incident was also treated as a high-profiled shooting case. Even though Moscow’s firearm restriction was loose, there had never been such an incident in the past. As the witness, Jiang Qinghan was brought to the police station to assist in the investigation. However, the Moscow police were soon taken by surprise since this was a serious case that involved foreign affairs. Hence, this matter was swiftly reported higher in the hierarchy, which promptly set off a shock wave.

But shockingly, for some reason, a video appeared in the country with the title: The Chinese Diplomatic Team was attacked; Russia’s public security isn’t safe.
The video soon blew up as it gained more attention. Even the forwarding rate of the video reached a terrifying number.
After many people watched the video, someone naturally found out that the victim was Su Tao, the young and famous divine physician in the TCM industry.
Not long after, Su Tao’s name took the headlines in waves once more.
“China’s Divine Physician was attacked overseas!”
“Russia is too chaotic; the talent of TCM dies young!”
Because of the video, it actually caused a small-scaled negative effect within the country. Many people felt that Russia’s public security wasn’t safe and abandoned their thoughts to invest. Furthermore, they also thought that the reason Russia was working with China so closely was because they wanted to make use of China.
Thus, all sorts of views soon filled the country. Even though the government tried to guide the controversy, they still felt weak.
At the same time, a violent conflict exploded between the borders of China and Russia. Truth be told, such disputes would often take place, but as it took place at such a sensitive period, it could be easily used by those with malicious intentions. Three Russians were ganged up by over ten Chinese and suffered substantial injuries, which the Chinese immediately fled, leaving the local police helpless.
Russia’s media also reported this. Many specialists felt the conflict between the two countries had finally exploded, and in fact, the two countries only appeared to be united in appearance to benefit from each other.
Regardless of Russia or China, their relationship became tense with the involvement of the media. At the same time, a media outlet in America reported with a ridiculing tone and felt that the diplomatic activity, which could promote a better relationship between the two countries, was a joke.
In Kazan, the eighth-largest city in Russia. In a private house located at the outskirts, the Third and Eighteenth Dragons wore grave expressions. They managed to break through the heavy defences five hours ago and reached this place, so they’re safe for the time being.
However, they were in a bad mood since the Nineteenth Dragon just died.
“I never expected that Su Tao would be so vicious to destroy the Nineteenth Dragon’s five viscera and six bowels with his bare fists.” The Eighteenth Dragon spoke up as he looked at the tragic scene of the Nineteenth Dragon’s deformed abdomen.
He had no suspicion that if he cut open the Nineteenth Dragon’s abdomen, black blood would be flowing out in large amounts.
Letting out a sigh, the Third Dragon’s eyes flickered as she replied, “We’ve still underestimated Su Tao’s strength. We initially thought that success was in our grasp, but the outcome was truly unexpected.”

“Su Tao suffered a few bullets, so he’s definitely dead!” The Eighteenth Dragon’s solemn voice resounded.
Nodding her head, the Third Dragon said, “We’ll rest here for a night and wait for the group leader’s orders.”
When she finished, her phone rang and Qin Jingyu’s voice resounded, “Where are you guys right now?”
“Within the borders of Kazan.” The Third Dragon answered.
Nodding his head, Qin Jingyu asked, “What support do you guys need?”
After a brief silence, the Third Dragon sighed, “The Nineteenth Dragon sacrificed his life, and I would like to apply for us to bring him back to the country!”
“That will bring more danger to the both of you!” Qin Jingyu frowned.
“Bringing our comrade back to the motherland is our responsibility.” The Third Dragon insisted.
As Qin Jingyu fell into a brief silence, he emphasised, “All of you are important to me, and I do not wish for anything to happen to anyone.”
When Qin Jingyu heard that the Nineteenth Dragon died, he was exceedingly enraged in his heart. Every single member of the Dragon Group with numbers were elites. In the process of nurturing them, the Dragon Group spent a great amount of effort. In his view, not even the lives of ten Su Tao could be comparable to a Nineteenth Dragon.
Hearing Qin Jingyu’s words, the Third Dragon inwardly sighed. As the leader of this small team, she was responsible for the Nineteenth Dragon’s death.
Sitting on the couch, Qin Jingyu cut a cigar and he lit it up before taking a deep breath. However, the intense flavour made him knit his brows so he then threw it away. Sitting opposite him, Rangure changed her posture and guessed, “The reason why you’re unhappy is because the person you wanted dead is still alive?”
“I never expected that he would be so lucky to be alive even after taking three bullets.” Qin Jingyu’s cold voice resounded.
“It’s not only luck. He’s also a doctor with a nimble reaction. He knows how to avoid having his fatal spots struck.” Rangure smiled. It was sporadic to see a worried expression written on Qin Jingyu’s face, which looked pretty enjoyable to her.
“Since the first attempt didn’t work, then there’s always a second!” Qin Jingyu’s voice resounded as he continued, “Facing absolute strength, his luck will ultimately run out.”
Rangure realised that she had underestimated the hatred that Qin Jingyu had for Su Tao. Truth be told, she had a pretty favorable impression about Su Tao. Even though the latter ruined her plans numerous times, he was still more admirable than the seed that she has chosen, Wang Guofeng. Knowing that there’s no need for her to continue to enrage Qin Jingyu, she changed the topic, “Everything is going according to your plan. Because of your instigation, I’m afraid that the negotiation will be affected by the controversy.”
As a complicated light flickered in Qin Jingyu’s eyes, he sighed, “You can’t blame me for it! Those opinionated fellows actually dare to put their intention on my business in Sichuan Province’s base.”
Rangure knew why Qin Jingyu was furious. Shui Junzhuo was currently negotiating cooperation with Russia, with the bargaining chips being the goods in Sichuan Province’s base that cost USD$1,000,000,000 to exchange a core aviation technology with Russia.
If those goods were in his hands, he could obtain at least twice the profits. It was something he couldn’t accept, and also the reason why he interfered.
His method was simple, arranging someone to assassinate the China Diplomatic Team in Russia and getting someone to beat up a few Russians by the borders. Lastly, by making use of public opinion, he could put the two countries in a tense relationship.
“Although Russia’s aviation technology is in the lead, my country isn’t bad either. If you can offer a good price, I might be able to help you act as a middleman.” Rangure smiled.
Shaking his head, Qin Jingyu mocked, “It’s a pity that those stubborn fossils only believe in Russia and America’s technology.”
Seeing that Qin Jingyu wasn’t getting hooked, Rangure smiled. “If you guys can’t obtain the technology you want from the two countries, then you can consider cooperating with us. I believe that the standard of my country will leave you surprised.”
Letting out a sigh, Qin Jingyu unhappily replied, “You don’t have to be too worried. We have already bought several mechanical systems from Germany. Furthermore, from what we know, those are systems that you guys have washed out.”
“That’s because the bargaining chips from you guys isn't enough. If it’s tempting enough, I believe that my government is willing to release our core technology.” Rangure’s chuckle resounded.
Qin Jingyu inwardly sighed. Even if he knew that Rangure was a temptress, he would still rather believe in the swiftly developing and recovering Germany than the isolated Russia.
