《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 556 - I was too innocent

The man’s eyesight was keen. He instantly determined that Su Tao was the leader, so he warned, “Don’t try to call the cops because it’s useless!”
Watching as Su Tao was taken away, Zhu Ru held her mouth and softly exclaimed. Beside her, Bian Bo was at a loss, so they were both startled. After all, the other party wielded pistols.
“Why didn’t you guys stop Su Tao from being taken away?” Zhu Ru waited for those off-road vehicles to drive off before she questioned Xia Yu and Liu Jianwei.
Sulking his face, Xia Yu felt extremely depressed in his heart as he cried out, “My beloved car is disfigured!”
Sourly letting out a sigh, Zhu Ru replied, “We’re already in this situation, and you’re only worried about your car?”
“Didn’t you see how he winked at us when he got in the car?” Liu Jianwei faintly asked.
Even Xia Yu sighed as he added, “There’s no need to worry about him. Even with all of them added together, they’re definitely not Su Tao’s opponent.”
“No way, I have to call the cops!” Zhu Ru nervously took her phone out.
Stopping Zhu Ru, Bian Bo said, “What cops, didn’t you hear what they said earlier? They’re all secret agents, and they’re not within the jurisdiction of the police. Not only is calling the cops useless, but it might even cause Su Tao to suffer more.”
Hearing his words, Xia Yu inwardly cursed, thinking that Bian Bo was a fool. How are they secret agents?
However, he nodded his head in agreement. “We can’t call the cops. We can only resolve this matter privately. Otherwise, who will compensate for the damage to my car?!”
Hearing those words, Zhu Ru was instantly rendered speechless. She felt that Xia Yu wasn’t reliable to worry about his car in this situation.
At the same time, Zhu Ru had already thought of a plan, so she took out her phone and gave a call to her mother from a corner.
“Ru Ru, what’s wrong?” Her mother was currently in a spa.
“Mom, I would like to borrow some money from you.” Zhu Ru sighed and continued, “I don’t need a lot, just ¥50,000 will do.”
She saved up ¥50,000, so she would have enough after borrowing another ¥50,000 from her family.
Her mother knew that she had been an independent person. Ever since Zhu Ru started her university, she had been working part-time and even received a scholarship. So Zhu Ru didn’t need any help in her school fees. Thus, she was baffled as to why her daughter would suddenly ask her for money.
“What happened? Why do you need ¥50,000?”
“Don’t ask so much about it. I have an urgent use for it.” Zhu Ru did not tell her mother the truth and brushed it over.
As her mother’s thoughts wandered, she exclaimed, “You wouldn’t be… pregnant, right?”

“Who’s pregnant?” Zhu Ru was caught unexpectedly by her mother’s words.
“My grandchildren!” Her mother suddenly sat up in the spa and reprimanded, “Which bastard’s seed does it belong to? You’re not thinking of abortion, right? I will definitely not agree to it!”
When Zhu Ru heard her mother’s words, she was instantly speechless before she patiently explained, “It’s not as complicated as you’re imagining. I just have some urgent use for it. So, are you giving it to me? Otherwise, I’ll borrow it from someone else.”
“Alright!” Her mother sighed and continued, “I will get someone to transfer ¥100,000 to your card in a while. But don’t lie to me, it’s fine if you’re really pregnant. I don’t have anything to do anyway, so you can continue schooling after giving birth; I’ll take care of your kid for you.”
“It’s really not like what you’re thinking! I’ll cut the call here, but remember to transfer me the money within an hour.”
At this moment, Zhu Ru regretted calling her mother and hung the call as she sighed.
Within the modified Toyota off-road vehicle, Zhong Yu sat beside Chen Junkai with a nervous expression. She would occasionally cast her glance at Su Tao, who sat in the row behind in between two men. One of them even pointed an imitated AK47 at Su Tao’s head.
Roughly half an hour later, the vehicle arrived in a tattered warehouse and Su Tao was shoved out of the vehicle and was surrounded by over a dozen men dressed in military clothes.
Holding onto Zhong Yue’s tender hands, Chen Junkai boasted, “This is a secret base, and we generally wouldn’t bring anyone over. You’re the first woman that I’ve brought over.”
Occasionally casting her glance at Su Tao, Zhong Yue lowered her voice, “Can you let him go?”
“No way!” Chen Junkai then started to lie, “That Mercedes-Benz was a specially-modified car. Since they destroyed it, then I have to teach them a lesson. Then again, I’m definitely not lacking ¥100,000, but I just want to teach them a lesson. Normally speaking, a special group like us won’t make things difficult for ordinary folks, but they’re related to the triads, and we have a reason to get rid of scum like them.”
Hearing his nonsense, Su Tao immediately went along with the act and showed a terrified expression with his voice trembling, “Wh-what do you guys want? D-don’t resort to violence; my friends will definitely bring the money over.”
Glancing at Su Tao in disdain, Chen Junkai thought that the former was afraid right now. Wasn’t he so arrogant earlier on? Thus, Chen Junkai took out a green book, flipping to the first page and ordered, “Read them out word by word!”
“Chen Junkai, Captain of the East Combat Zone’s Special Force, Colonel.” Su Tao slowly read out.
“My brothers are all prominent figures, and you guys are the ones causing trouble for me time and time again. Do you think that I will let you guys off so easily?” Chen Junkai wanted to slap Su Tao with the book, but after a brief pondering, he lowered his hand and continued, “Even slapping you will dirty my military certificate.”

After that, he carefully stowed his military certificate.
Glancing at Su Tao in concern, Zhong Yue nervously asked, “What if they did not come with the money?”
Glancing at Su Tao in contempt, Chen Junkai replied, “Then, don’t blame us for being ruthless.”
At this moment, a man walked over and unhappily said, “Kai’zi, let him make a call to his friends and rush them.”
Handing a cigarette to the man, Chen Junkai replied, “Don’t be in such a hurry. It’s not a small sum, and we have to give them some time to prepare.”
All of a sudden, Su Tao’s phone vibrated, so he took it out and answered, “I will send you the address of their base. You guys don’t have to be too worried, they’re not as ruthless as you guys have imagined.”
Seeing how Su Tao fearlessly answered the call, Chen Junkai instantly went insane. So it turned out that Su Tao was acting to be afraid earlier. Didn’t the latter realise that he’s currently kidnapped?
“Give him a bashing. Otherwise, he will think that he’s here on a sightseeing trip!” Chen Junkai ordered as he gnashed his teeth and pointed at Su Tao.
Zhong Yue immediately held onto Chen Junkai and begged, “Didn’t you say that you won’t resort to violence?”
Seeing this scene, the surrounding men teased, “Colonel Chen, you’ve not taught your women well? Why is she helping another man?”
Since Chen Junkai instantly felt embarrassed, he pushed Zhong Yue aside and unhappily said, “This is a matter between men, so shut it.”
His actions left Zhong Yue dumbfounded and she wondered why Chen Junkai would suddenly become so ferocious to her.
However, Su Tao ignored everyone and casually sent his current address with his phone before he stowed it and cracked his neck. Thereafter, he waved his hand at a few people.
Seeing his response, the few men laughed. In their view, Su Tao was a fool. Su Tao truly deserved to be beaten to death with his intelligence for daring to provoke them in such an outnumbered position.
But before they could respond, Su Tao charged forth and casually threw a plump man onto the ground.
The plump man might not be agile, but his weight was over 100kg with a height close to 6’2”. However, he was so easily thrown onto the ground by Su Tao.
This group of people gathered together to form a club of military fanatics, and Chen Junkai only became the leader of this group since he was once in the military academy.
From how such a club possessed such luxury vehicles like the Prado that costs hundreds of thousands, anyone could tell that the members of this club had some background. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have so fancily modified such expensive cars.
Normally, Chen Junkai relied on providing some equipment and training to these fanatics to live a good life. Occasionally, he would also make use of his fake military certificate to cheat women, including wealthy ladies. However, he wanted a change of taste recently and shifted his target to university students.
Although they were also trained in military combat techniques, those techniques were all taught by a half-bake like Chen Junkai, so they were of no threat.
Looking at this group of people donned in military clothes, Su Tao knew that they must’ve done something similar in the past as well, so he did not go easy on them.
By the time Su Tao threw the third person onto the ground, the remaining people had started to back off and no one dared to approach him.
Watching how the scene unfolded, Chen Junkai was covered in sweat with a pale complexion. At the same time, someone on the side reminded him of his pistol. Although the pistol was fake, it still had some lethality at close range. But just when he raised his hand, a needle was stuck in his hand and he lost his grip of the pistol before it fell onto the ground.
Walking over, Su Tao picked up the gun and flicked the safety before he shot towards the ground. As BB bullets flew out, they ricocheted. He was just trying out the power of the air gun, which was mediocre.
But seeing that it wouldn’t kill anyone, he aimed it at Chen Junkai and started to press the trigger.
Although Su Tao’s aiming wasn’t accurate, the bullets still hit Chen Junkai. It was still fine if those bullets hit his body since the force was pretty much negated due to the thick clothes. But when the bullets hit Chen Junkai’s face, they instantly caused a series of miserable howls.
Throwing the air gun onto the ground, Su Tao waved his hand towards Zhong Yue. After Zhong Yue immediately came to Su Tao’s rear, the latter sighed, “Now do you know that he’s a liar? If he’s really a secret agent, why would he have his butt kicked so easily by me? He’s only wearing unprofessional military clothes and a fake pistol without any lethality to pretend to be a military officer.”
Seeing how Su Tao faced them alone, Zhong Yue naturally knew that she was cheated. Unhappily lowering her head, she admitted her fault, “I was too innocent.”
When someone saw that the situation wasn’t going in their favor and wanted to flee, Su Tao easily stopped them with his silver needles. Witnessing how that man fell onto the ground, no one here dared to budge anymore.
Clearing his throat, Su Tao instructed, “Now, listen to my instructions. Gather and form a row from the tallest to the shortest.”
Thereafter, he threatened, “Anyone that disobeys will receive treatment from my needles!”
