Having his face flushed with anger, Zhen Difei raged, “You traitor! Don’t you want to work here anymore?”

“You’re wrong!” Ni Jingqiu coldly said. “Starting from tomorrow, this place will no longer be under your management. In the future, you’re also forbidden from coming here.”

“You’re not qualified to make that decision!” Zhen Difei solemnly said as he barked, “This is a job that Uncle gave me!”

“I will convince my father, and I believe that he will get another job for you. But this clubhouse is no longer suitable for you.” Ni Jingqiu coldly replied.

As rage surged in his heart, Zhen Difei cursed, “You slut!”

Waving her hand, Ni Jingqiu gave the orders to the security guard, “You can remove him from here now!”

However, the security guards exchanged looks amongst themselves and hesitated.

In the end, the security guard that confessed earlier turned to Zhen Difei. “Young master, please! Otherwise, we can only do this physically.”

“I will remember you!” Zhen Difei snorted as he waved his hand and left in anger.

With a flicker of helplessness in her eyes, Ni Jingqiu bitterly smiled towards Su Tao. “I’m sorry to have shown you a joke.”

Shaking his head, Su Tao sighed, “I never expected that the conflict in your family would be so complicated.”

Shrugging her shoulders, Ni Jingqiu responded, “Are you starting to pity me? Don’t underestimate me since the thoughts of a woman growing up under this sort of environment is more meticulous than ordinary women.”

“Well, I’ve never underestimated you.” Su Tao smiled.

As Du Bing supported Yuan Cui up, she felt the urge to stick her head into the ground when she recalled what just happened.

However, she didn’t feel grateful for how Su Tao helped her. If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t have come to this clubhouse, to begin with, nor would she end up being framed by Zhen Difei.

A selfish person will never reflect on their mistakes. If she hadn’t been greedy and accepted that ring, all of that wouldn’t have occurred.

In the end, Yuan Cui kept her mouth shut. But whenever she looked at Su Tao, her eyes were flickering with unconcealable malice.

But Su Tao wasn’t bothered by that, since it would only lower himself.

After this incident, Ni Jingqiu got a vehicle to send Gu Rushan and her family back home. But since it wasn’t appropriate for Su Tao to go back with them, he found an excuse and stayed behind.

Shaking her head, Ni Jingqiu sighed, “I also want to have your fortune, but with men. However, it’s a pity that the only man that appeared in my life for the past twenty-odd years turned out to be scum.”

Shaking his head, Su Tao encouraged, “What are you talking about? With your condition, you can easily find one as long as you’re using the right method.”

Placing the glass down, Ni Jingqiu stared at Su Tao and smiled. “Oh? Why don’t you give me some constructive ideas!”

“From tomorrow onwards, start participating in social activities. Don’t swarm yourself with work and make more trips to clubs or pubs. You have to give others an opportunity for them to grasp it.” Su Tao replied.

Hearing his words, Ni Jingqiu showed a complicated smile.

“You know that I’m not someone that likes to play.”

After a brief pondering, Su Tao replied, “That’s true, then you have to cherish every single outstanding man around you and try to show your charming side whenever you’re with them. Moreover, don’t reject anyone that admires you. You have to open your heart for someone to walk in.”

“You’re practically preaching!” Ni Jingqiu sighed.

Nodding his head, Su Tao admitted, “I can’t help it since I’m your bestie. If I don’t nag at you, you won’t have someone guiding the path for you!”

Ni Jingqiu couldn’t help smiling as she responded, “I was just joking with you, and I did not expect you to take it seriously.”

“Anyhow, I have already treated you as my bestie. In the future, anything that involves you is also a matter of my concern.” Su Tao said seriously as he knocked on the table.

“Alright!” Ni Jingqiu gently patted on her chest and declared, “That’s a promise, then! And we’re also not allowed to betray each other!”

“Yeah!” Su Tao looked at Ni Jingqiu, whose face had turned rosy from the alcohol and felt his heart aching. He could tell that this woman was lonely. Even if she’s almighty in the eyes of others, she didn’t have anyone that she could share her heart with.

“Oh right. Mr. Bestie, I have something that I would like to ask you.” Ni Jingqiu suddenly asked. “This is a truth or dare, and you’re not allowed to lie!”

“Alright, I’ll answer whatever you want.” Su Tao raised his hands and surrendered.

“When did you start fantasising about the opposite sex?” Ni Jingqiu started asking a personal question and further added, “You must answer truthfully since we’re besties!”

Evidently, Ni Jingqiu has taken their friendship as a hostage to threaten him.

“It should have been when I was eleven!” Su Tao sniffed his nose and answered honestly, “When I woke up in one morning, I found my underwear sticky and I knew that I’ve become a man.”

“Are men always fantasising in their minds most of the time?” Ni Jingqiu asked again.

Suddenly, Su Tao realised that it was the same as how men want to understand women, women also want to understand men. Thus, he answered truthfully, “Normal men would have their body in an excited state at least 70% of the time.”

“It’s quite ridiculous that you’re the first person I’ve talked about such an intimate topic with.” Ni Jingqiu smiled.

“Now, it’s my turn to ask you!” Su Tao cleared his throat and asked, “When is your first menstruation?”

“I’m not telling you that!” Ni Jingqiu gave her reply instantly, which left Su Tao stunned.

This bestie of his had quite the personality!

“But I answered your questions truthfully!” Su Tao suddenly realised that he had suffered a loss and it felt as if he had been cheated.

“That’s because you’re too honest of a chap! Have you never heard of a saying that you can never trust a woman’s words? Especially one as beautiful as myself!” Ni Jingqiu started laughing and continued, “As your bestie, I’m teaching you a practical lesson so that you will hold your guard against women in the future.”

Glaring at Ni Jingqiu’s elegant figure, Su Tao responded in sarcasm, “I have to thank you for that, then!”

When Gu Rushan brought her family to her apartment, Yuan Cui couldn’t help taking a tour upon entering and smiled. “I never thought that you’re really living alone!”

She looked around since she wanted to find evidence of Su Tao staying here before persuading her uncle and aunty to object to the relationship between Gu Rushan and Su Tao.

But hearing that her daughter lives alone, Gu Daoshan’s expression became much better. If Gu Rushan stayed together with Su Tao, then it would be harder to split the two of them apart. Even if Zhen Fen was no longer that unsatisfied with Su Tao, Gu Daoshan still felt that his daughter couldn’t marry someone younger than herself.

As a man, Gu Daoshan naturally understood a man better.

Frowning her brows, Yuan Cui raised her voice, “Didn’t I prove my innocence earlier? Why are you still talking about it?!”

Standing to the side, Du Bing gave a straightforward smile and said, “Rushan, stop triggering her. She was the victim earlier.”

For the sake of her cousin, Gu Rushan did not erupt. But if Yuan Cui wasn’t greedy, would there be an opportunity to frame her?

Seeing Gu Rushan’s attitude towards her, Yuan Cui’s mood became more terrible and nitpicked, “Aiya! This apartment is only about sixty square meters, right? How can it hold all of us? If I knew about this earlier, I would’ve stayed in a hotel!”

Wearing a helpless expression Yuan Cui replied, “Aunty, didn’t we come to an agreement that we’re going to wake Rushan up from her dream and have her return with us? What now? You’re changing your mind and feeling heartache for your daughter while I’m the villain here?”

“I only asked you not to be so fierce, so don’t be overly sensitive. We still have to persuade Rushan.” Zhang Feng wryly smiled.

“Aunty, I think that you’re still not resolute enough. Did you change your mind after seeing that Su Tao is doing pretty well?” Yuan Cui nodded her head.

Seeing that Yuan Cui has spoken the thoughts in her heart, Zhang Fen bitterly smiled. “If Rushan is insistent on it, then how can we possibly force her? Back then, didn’t Du Bing’s parents object to your marriage but the two of you still got together in the end?”

As Yuan Cui blushed, she warned, “Aunty, you have to consider it well. You only have Rushan as a daughter, and if she marries far away, you guys would’ve brought up a daughter for nothing.”

Letting out a sigh, Zhang Fen helplessly said, “We’re already regretting now that we even allowed her to come to Beijing in the first place.”

Gu Rushan hid in the toilet and heard the conversation between the two women. However, her heart wasn’t shaken. She firmly believed that she would make a name for herself in Beijing. At that time, she would fetch her parents over to Beijing and let them enjoy retirement.
