“Have you been waiting for a long time?” Su Tao asked.

On the other hand, Shui Junzhuo felt suffocating from the kiss with her face flushed. Lowering her head, she did not dare to look at Su Tao. “What do you mean?”

“That kiss!” Su Tao smiled.

“You rogue!” Shui Junzhuo felt her heart going in chaos as she pushed Su Tao away and decided to stay a distance away.

“Have you eaten? You want me to cook something for you?” Su Tao pointed at the kitchen and ultimately endured the urge to continue bullying Shui Junzhuo.

“Sure, I like to eat tomato and egg noodles. It’s extremely fragrant when topped with chopped onions too!” Shui Junzhuo looked at Su Tao, and her feet paused as if she was afraid that Su Tao might go back on his words.

Su Tao was initially trying to direct the conversation towards another topic, but seeing how innocent Shui Junzhuo was, he could only enter the kitchen and open the fridge. Since he had been secluding himself in his apartment for days, his refrigerator was stuffed with ingredients such as eggs, tomatoes, hams, and vegetables.

Taking out the ingredients from the fridge, Shui Junzhuo tied her hair into a braid and took the apron from the wall then wrapped it around her waist.

“What’s wrong? You want to help out?” Su Tao smiled.

“Don’t belittle me, I’m a competent woman!” Shui Junzhuo smugly smiled.

Hearing those words, Su Tao instantly felt a little awkward. Was she trying to seduce him with her words that have another meaning in them?

But he soon realised that he was overthinking it.

If a person’s heart was perverted, then it’s natural for his thoughts to be perverted as well.

Shui Junzhuo was innocent. She washed the vegetables proficiently. She wasn’t like those princesses that have never touched chores in their entire life.

Standing to the side, Su Tao admired her. All of a sudden, Shui Junzhuo stopped and turned around to see Su Tao looking at her. As her face blushed, she snapped, “Why are you looking at me?”

Waving his finger, Su Tao replied, “I’m just admiring the silhouette of a great diplomat. I never expected that you would look so virtuous!”

Rolling her eyes, Shui Junzhuo barked, “Why aren’t you moving? Come and help me!”

Letting out a chuckle, he walked over and held onto Shui Junzhuo’s shoulder. He lifted her from the ground and moved her away. While Shui Junzhuo was left startled, Su Tao rolled up his sleeves and smiled, “Go and wait in the living room, it’ll be ready to eat in about ten-odd minutes.”

However, Shui Junzhuo looked at Su Tao with reluctance to leave. Actually, she’s not really hungry, and she only wanted to enjoy cooking with Su Tao to make them feel like they’re a family. But it was a pity that Su Tao was unromantic.

But after a brief pondering, Shui Junzhuo removed her apron and put it on Su Tao.

Su Tao was caught by surprise from her unexpected move and felt a cushion behind him. As she fiddled her hands before his chest, he instantly felt an urge rising within his chest.

However, Shui Junzhuo had instantly put the apron on him and left for the living room to set up the dining table.

That was too exciting! Su Tao exclaimed in his heart before he directed his focus back to cooking.

Su Tao just ate hotpot with Liu Jianwei and Xia Yu, so he wasn’t hungry. However, he still prepared two bowls of noodles to eat with Shui Junzhuo together. After all, appetite was of utmost importance, and food usually tastes better when you’re eating with someone.

When he was done with the noodles, he even prepared a plate of stir-fried shredded ham and vegetables. Suddenly, the doorbell rang and he furrowed his brows. Who would be interrupting him at this time?

When he opened the door, he saw Gu Rushan sticking half of her head in and looked around before she smiled in embarrassment. “So you’re here!”

Turning around, Shui Junzhuo first glared at Su Tao, to which Su Tao responded with an innocent expression.

“Is there anything?” Shui Junzhuo asked with a smile on her face.

“I heard the commotion next door and wanted to freeload!” Gu Rushan stuck her tongue out.

“Your ears are pretty sharp! Su Tao made noodles, do you want some?” Shui Junzhuo passionately pulled Gu Rushan into the apartment, as if she was the mistress here.

At this moment, Gu Rushan felt complicated in her heart, since she shouldn’t interrupt them as a third-wheel. But for some inexplicable reason, she stayed.

Since Su Tao wasn’t hungry, he offered, “I’ve actually eaten, so you can have the other bowl.”

Gu Rushan also wasn’t polite with Su Tao and smiled. “I’ve been out shooting for the past few days, and I’ve only eaten boxed meals every day. When I returned, I fell asleep for the entire day and was too lazy to cook myself, so I thought of bothering my neighbor, hehe.”

As Shui Junzhuo slurped down the noodles, she suddenly strikes, “You seem to be pretty close to Su Tao.”

Sneaking a cunning smile to Su Tao, Gu Rushan coughed and started to tell her story with Su Tao. When she spoke of how they acted as a couple, she noticed that Shui Junzhuo’s face had turned pale with tears welling up in her eyes and asked, “You wouldn’t be angry, right?”

“Why would I be angry?” Shui Junzhuo calmly replied as she shot a hateful glare at Su Tao.

“I know that you’re in a relationship with Su Tao, and I told you about it because I don’t want any misunderstandings between us. Actually, there’s nothing between Su Tao and I. He only helped me out of kindness!”

“Su Tao and I are just ordinary friends. It’s unrelated to me whoever he dates!” Shui Junzhuo coldly replied.

“Ah? Then did I misunderstand your relationship?” Gu Rushan felt massively relieved and continued, “Actually, the two of you look perfect together.”

Shaking her head, Shui Junzhuo absent-mindedly coped with it, “I don’t have that fortune!”

Seeing Gu Rushan trying to stir shit for him, Su Tao finally couldn’t take it anymore and sniffed his nose. “Are you done? I heard someone knocking at your door earlier, is there someone looking for you?”

Frowning her brows, Gu Rushan knew that Su Tao was chasing her away, to which she slowly stood up and smiled. “Then, I have to leave now!”

Sending her to the door, Su Tao closed the door behind him and questioned, “Why did you talk so much?”

“I did that for your sake. I know that the two of you are interested in each other, so I wanted to explain our relationship with her. Otherwise, wouldn’t it be a headache if she misunderstood us?” Gu Rushan lowered her voice.

Although Gu Rushan’s words were reasonable, she could’ve picked a more appropriate timing. Su Tao let out a sigh. He and Shui Junzhuo had just gone on the right track, and their relationship was still shaky.

Shrugging his shoulders, Su Tao replied, “You’re sharp-tongued, and I don’t want to argue with you.” When he finished, he turned around and immediately returned to the apartment.

But before he was gone, Gu Rushan immediately called out to him, “My parents will be coming tomorrow, so take some time out to eat with us.”

Recalling his promise to her, Su Tao sighed with a wry smile. “Got it. It’s no wonder why you’re in such a rush to return home, so your parents are coming.”

“My cousin and his wife too!” Gu Rushan sighed as she whispered and had no idea if Su Tao heard her.

Taking out her keys, Gu Rushan opened the door and suddenly kneeled down. A long time later, she raised her head and muttered to herself, “Gu Rushan, you’re a woman with your own dreams. You can’t fall for a man so easily, or you will be digging your own grave. You have to be a qualified actor and someone without emotions. You are only allowed to show your emotions before the camera!”

Returning to the apartment, Su Tao saw Shui Junzhuo washing the dishes and said, “We’re just neighbors!”

“I never expected that there could be such close neighbors! Divine Physician Su is truly well connected!” Shui Junzhuo looked at the dishes as she forcefully scrubbed the grease off.

All of a sudden, Su Tao burst into laughter.

Unhappily dumping the dishes, she glared at Su Tao as if she was criticising him that he’s still in the mood to laugh.

“Are you jealous right now?” Su Tao asked.

“I’m not, you’re overthinking it.” Shui Junzhuo shook his head.

“Feeling jealous is also part of a relationship.” Su Tao pouted, “There’s no need to deny it!”

Biting on her lips, Shui Junzhuo responded, “I hate my current self!”

“I’m sorry to have made you feel wronged.” Su Tao bitterly smiled.

After a brief silence, Shui Junzhuo suddenly sighed, “Perhaps I will be used to it as time passes. You’re an outstanding man, and you’re not lacking women around you. This is the consequence of falling in love with you. Actually, I should be prepared, but I never expected that it would come so abruptly that it made me lose my composure.”

Su Tao never expected to hear such words. Indeed, she was more intelligent than he had expected. Although she has never dated in her life, she had an exceptionally high EQ.

All of a sudden, he was at a loss since he had no idea how to console her.

“I’m angry because I noticed that your neighbor has fallen for you. When she told me the things about the two of you, she was extremely joyful. It’s a feeling of bliss that only women in love would feel.” Shui Junzhuo smiled.

“I have no idea how to console you.” Su Tao bitterly smiled while being surprised.

If I need you to console me every single time, wouldn’t you be swamped?” Shui Junzhuo was understanding, so she replied, “They’re all my competitors waiting for me to defeat. If I have to rely on you all the time, then I will only push you in their direction.”

Hearing her logic, Su Tao felt admiration for her and nearly raised his thumb to give her a like.

Actually, thinking of it in another direction, men and women were the same. When their rival appears, they would find all sorts of ways to defeat them.

It’s good to make Shui Junzhuo feel anxious since she would only cherish him more in that way.
