《Physician’s Odyssey》Chapter 489 - Injustice Undone

While the ‘woman’ still tried to struggle, a tanned man swiftly charged over from the right and subdued her.
The two of them were the 33 Bureau’s secret agent and intern, Hei Jin and Tang Shi.
Hei Jin held onto the chin of that ‘woman’ as he rubbed on her face and peeled off a fake skin along with the wig before he solemnly said, “Your disguise is truly on another level. Where’s that woman that you disguise yourself into?”
The disciple of the Witchcraft Sect wore a bitter smile and answered, “I was unfortunate to be captured by you guys. I didn’t harm her, she’s currently being held in a hotel. According to my plan, the cleaner would discover her when she cleans up the room two hours from now.”
Letting out a sigh, Hei Jing was impressed at the meticulous thoughts of this person and replied, “At that time, you would’ve reached Shenzhou City, right?”
Nodding his head, the disciple of the Witchcraft Sect answered, “I admit my defeat because of my inexperience. You can deal with me as you want!”
Wang Guofeng thought that he would be able to easily escape, so he used his connections to look for a woman, allowing this disciple of the Witchcraft Sect to disguise himself as a woman to flee while capturing that woman to make sure that no one discovered anything.
The entire plan was flawless, especially with how this disciple of the Witchcraft Sect flawlessly disguised himself as a woman. Even the security system of the airport wouldn’t be able to discover anything unusual about him.
In the end, it was all due to Xia Yu’s keen senses that noticed something peculiar about him coming out of the washroom.
But truth be told, the disciple of the Witchcraft Sect had overcomplicated things, and his wits overreached itself. If he arrived at the airport in a woman’s appearance, he wouldn’t be discovered by Xia Yu if he hid amongst the crowd.
Hei Jin never expected that this disciple of the Witchcraft Sect was more truthful than he had imagined and asked, “Are you the culprit behind Huo Kun’s injuries?”
The disciple of the Witchcraft Sect fell into a brief silence before he sighed, “I’ve already fallen into your hands, and even if I tried to deny it, you guys have tons of ways to make me speak. That’s right; I was the culprit behind Huo Kun’s injuries to frame Su Tao since he’s the enemy of my Martial Uncle, Ma Huiteng.”
He’s a smart person and knew that the 33 Bureau had tons of ways to make him speak with their trained specialists, which he knew he couldn’t last through the trial.
Patting her chest, Tang Shi stuck her tongue out. “Su Tao finally got his injustice undone. Come with us immediately. He has to be freed today to participate in an activity.”
After that, the two agents held the disciple of the Witchcraft Sect and headed out.

Glancing at Xia Yu and Liu Jianwei, who were walking over, Tang Shi turned to Hei Jin. “Hey, they’re coming. Should we greet them?”
Sourly rolling his eyes, Hei Jing responded, “Can’t you be more professional? We can’t reveal our identities!”
Pouting her lips, Tang Shi mumbled, “It’s all thanks to them that we managed to smoothly complete our mission. If they weren’t the ones to notice something unusual about this fellow, we wouldn’t have been able to arrest him, to begin with.”
“What’s going through your mind? It looks like you still have ways to go before you get promoted.” Hei Jin solemnly responded.
Pouting her lips in indignance, Tang Shi stomped her foot as she left with her head down while Xia Yu and Liu Jianwei watched the target get captured.
“Who are they?” Liu Jianwei curiously asked.
After a brief silence, Xia Yu answered, “Don’t care about that. Interpret it as our boss having a huge connection with someone powerful looking after him. Since the culprit has been arrested, let us head for the detention center and pick him up. We can’t delay the proper business.”
While nodding his head, Liu Jianwei seemed unhappy.
“Are you feeling depressed?” Xia Yu smiled.
“I’ve looked for them for a long time in Shenzhou City, but I never expected that it would be resolved so easily.” Liu Jianwei replied.
Jabbing on his own forehead, Xia Yu became smug. “Hey, lunkhead. I might not be comparable to you in terms of fighting, but you pale in comparison to my intelligence!”
Hearing those words, Liu Jianwei did not respond, but he tacitly agreed. He had to admit that Xia Yu had his own specialty, and it was no wonder that he could receive the trust of Su Tao.
The Knife Demon, Liu Jianwei, has been a conceited person and rarely admired someone. Aside from Su Tao, Xia Yu could also be considered one.
The examination phase of the National Healer Selection has already begun and six candidates have already been interviewed. Each interview wouldn’t take long, and the judges weren’t long-winded with their questions. They mainly picked from the candidates’ actions, speech, and bearing. Occasionally, they would also ask some questions related to medical practice and test the candidates’ ability to respond.
As the saying goes, being close to a sovereign could be as dangerous as lying with a tiger. National Healers generally served those in power, and aside from their medical skills, their image and attitude were also major deciding factors. After all, they were required to occasionally leave the country, so they practically represented the country.
Next, they had to be entertaining in conversation with swift reactions since they’re required to pay attention to their words when chatting with the leaders.
Generally, those that could make it to this phase didn’t have an issue with their background, and the objective of this phase was to look at several standards and filter those that were below the norm.

The judges were all with keen eyesight. Although most of the candidates came prepared, the judges could still tell a thing or two from some details.
After Ling Yu answered a few questions, he left the room.
The judge that sat in the middle, Helian Zhen, looked around and asked, “What do you guys think about that young man?”
“I never expected that he would be so young, and he also has a steady temperament. He’s truly worthy of being the personal disciple of the Medical Dao Sect’s Sect Master.” The man sitting to the left, Tan Luoyou, sighed.
Sitting on the right, Bian Rongfa was also in admiration as he praised, “He’s definitely a talent. Given a few more years, he will definitely surpass his master.”
“According to the higher departments, the objective is to promote younger staff in the team. This is also why our audit is leaning towards the talented youngsters. All the candidates are below the age of forty, and there are two amongst them that are only in their twenties.” Helian Zhen sighed.
However, Tan Luoyou didn’t seem happy as he commented, “It’s said that the other young man still hasn’t shown up. Truly, youngsters aren’t all the same. Some are more steady, and some are more willful and casual.”
“Perhaps he might be in some situation? After all, no one in their right mind would be late for this sort of event.” Bian Yongfa replied.
As Helian Zhen coughed, the two by his sides stopped their argument and he took a sip of the tea. At the same time, the next candidate entered.
When Ling Yu walked out of the room, Wang Guofeng, who had been waiting here for a long time, came over and asked with a smile, “How did it go?”
“The attitude of the judges was pretty good, and they asked me a few questions.” Ling Yu smiled.
“Oh? What did they ask you about?” Wang Guofeng’s interest was piqued. After all, he had been under the influence of TCM since young. If things didn’t go wrong, he would be the one participating in the National Healer Selection today, representing the Medical Dao Sect, and not Ling Yu.
“The judges asked me why I came for the National Healer Selection at such a young age since it doesn’t grant me any benefits. Why didn’t I choose to wait for a few more years before participating after I’m more confident?” Ling Yu answered truthfully.
“So, how did you reply to them?” Wang Guofeng knew that this wasn’t an easy question.
“I replied that I have to constantly seek improvements and seize every minute!” Ling Yu smiled.
“Nicely used ‘seize every minute’!” Wang Guofeng sighed in admiration that despite his Junior Brother looking honest and pure, he’s not as simple as he looked. Otherwise, how could he possibly speak such passionate words?
“Those are my true thoughts. If I don’t strive to improve, wouldn’t I have wasted my time? Although the Medical Dao Sect taught me to seek nothing, being passionate is the nature of youngsters. So why don’t I let it ignite instead of keeping it under control?” Ling Yu replied.
From Ling Yu, Wang Guofeng had seen the youthful figure of himself and felt complicated emotions in his heart. Although he’s leading a great lifestyle by managing the Medicine Deity Corporation, he was still filled with sentiment for TCM.
If he was given another chance, he would definitely not commit such a mistake to be barred from practicing medicine.
Thus, the two of them left together.
All of a sudden, Ling Yu’s eyes dazzled as he grew excited. “Senior Brother, look!”
Following Ling Yu’s gaze, Wang Guofeng was briefly stunned with an awkward expression. He never expected that Su Tao would be walking in with that hateful smile as always.
How did he manage to get out? Shouldn’t he be in the detention center instead?
Su Tao had also noticed Wang Guofeng, but he wasn’t in the mood to waste his saliva at this moment. After all, he came for a proper business. But he was surprised that Ling Yu would walk in his direction and smiled. “I have no idea what you’ve encountered, but you have my best wishes for this examination phase.”
Looking at Ling Yu’s smile, Su Tao couldn’t be angry. Some hypocrites would wear a smile on their faces, but Ling Yu’s smile originated from the depths of his heart.
“You’re more pleasing to the eye than your Senior Brother, and I accept your wishes.” Su Tao helplessly replied.
With an earnest tone, Ling Yu replied, “I truly hope that I can compete with you in the third phase.”
“Likewise,” Su Tao nodded his head and continued walking as if Wang Guofeng didn’t exist.
Being ignored, Wang Guofeng’s expression became unsightly as he turned to Ling Yu. “Junior Brother, you shouldn’t be so polite with him!”
Hearing his words, Ling Yu locked his brows together as he looked at Wang Guofeng with a complicated gaze.
“Senior Brother, I respect you, and at the same time, I also respect Su Tao. The reason why I didn’t refute your words in the past is because I did not wish for us to fight. But you’ve gone overboard this time. I hope to defeat him honorably, and not by any underhanded means. The history of the Medical Dao Sect spans thousands of years, and we should believe that we won’t lose to anyone.”
This time, Wang Guofeng was caught by surprise. He never expected that the docile Ling Yu would criticise him. He was briefly stunned before he suppressed the rage in his heart and smiled. “You’re right. My obsession was too deep, but it is mainly because he has framed me several times, and I’m afraid you might suffer.”

It's based on the medieval and steam era where magic is rare and alchemy is used widely used as a weapon by people. There would be lots of action, adventure, betrayal, tragedy, romance, etc. ahead. Warnings-The mc is a bit mean and foul-mouthed, introvert. There would be strong language and lots of monologue narration by the MC. The stories are fast-paced and progressing faster. The chapters update would be unstable, depending on my daily life. You would get fast updates... or slow. Also, English isn't my first language. So don't expect perfect grammar :( P.S. - I would like some constructive critique and feedback! It fills my motivation gauge and increases that rate of chapter/week. (/>3
