《Ranker's Return》Chapter 543

The darkness bognet queen moved her huge body, instantly jumping high into the air. It was a rapid movement that didn’t match her large size. The black-red pure energy attacked the place where the darkness bognet queen had just left. As Hyeonu watched the series of processes, his expression naturally distorted.
However, the reason wasn’t that his attack missed. “Ah, it is dirty. I feel like throwing up.”
This was why his expression was distorted. He found the darkness bognet queen too disgusting. It was inevitable considering she wasa cricket that was over 100 meters long. Her existence in itself was abhorrent. The darkness bognet queen soared into the air before falling to the ground.
Her falling position was different from her earlier jumping position, and she descended toward Hyeonu’s head. Hyeonu slid on the ground like he was tackling a football, quickly slipping out of the reach of the darkness bognet queen. He wielded the Mysterious Sky Sword and poured out black-red pure energy again. The darkness bognet queen swung her black legs and swiped away all of Hyeonu’s pure energies.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
The pure energies collided with the wall instead, and the shattered stone scattered everywhere.
‘I need to use the magic spirit actively.’
Hyeonu quickly made a judgment. How could he lead the fight? Hyeonu’s solution to that was the magic spirit. He would let it go off on its own. Of course, this just meant he would make more active use of the magic spirit.
‘In any case, the magic spirit is a gathering of my magic power.’
If he simply concentrated on controlling his magic power, he would be able to quickly decide the match. It was to the point where anyone else would think it seemed futile for the darkness bognet queen to put up any resistance. The magic spirit floating above Hyeonu’s head moved with lightning speed. Unrestrained by gravity, the magic spirit could run freely in the air.
Nevertheless, the darkness bognet queen wasn’t going to just watch. As she approached the magic spirit, her hundreds of eyes flashed, firing out lasers at different angles. Hyeonu moved the magic spirit like it was in a barrage shooting (a shooting game. Just like the name, it is a shooting game characterized by bullets falling like a curtain).
With this atmosphere, the magic spirit stepped into the air. Every step was light and bizarre, much like Hyeonu’s use of Mysterious Sky Steps.
‘This...’ Hyeonu was flustered, but now wasn’t the time to focus only on the magic spirit. The lasers weren’t only fired at Tang-E but at Hyeonu himself.
“Hold on tightly,” Hyeonu issued a light warning to Tang-E first before moving. It meant preparing his body and mind beforehand.
“Understood, Master dude.” Tang-E had hung from Hyeonu more than just once or twice previously, so he knew what Hyeonu meant. He firmly strengthened his hind legs around Hyeonu’s neck, and his front paws held Hyeonu’s head tightly. Feeling Tang-E’s strong presence on his shoulders, Hyeonu moved his feet quickly. He stepped swiftly between the lasers like a ghost.

The difference between Hyeonu and the magic spirit had shrunk. The magic spirit now moved as Hyeonu did. However, Hyeonu’s focus was on his own actions, so the magic spirit’s movements were bound to be relatively dull in comparison. Naturally, the speed at which it approached the darkness bognet queen was also not as fast as Hyeonu’s. Nonetheless, the darkness bognet queen couldn’t attack indefinitely as there was a limit to her magic power. The decisive thing was that Arena was a game. This meant all monster patterns had set durations.
‘Okay, it’s over.’ Hyeonu saw the light that started to disappear, and he smiled. He had been waiting for this moment. His movements slowed down. On the contrary, the magic spirit’s movements accelerated sharply. The magic spirit disappeared from the darkness bognet queen’s vision and reappeared above one of her numerous legs. There, the magic spirit raised its paws—which were especially cute in comparison to the darkness bognet queen—above its head and then brought them down with a slam.
One of the darkness bognet queen’s legs was now broken, and she couldn’t do anything about it. The magic spirit took the opportunity to rush through the gap in the darkness bognet queen’s defense and didn’t stop there. It showed very good movements as it ran all over the body of the darkness bognet queen.
Boom!
Explosions occurred everywhere the magic spirit stepped. With each explosion, the darkness bognet queen’s legs fell down one by one.
“Kieeeek!” The darkness bognet queen moved again. Several of her legs shot at the rampaging magic spirit and pierced it.
“Kieeek!” the queen shrieked with joy at the sight. This didn’t last long though because she felt a strange sensation at the ends of her legs.
“Kiek? Kieeeek!”
The body of the magic spirit became increasingly blurred before disappearing completely.
“Unfortunately, it’s a bit slow?” Hyeonu murmured in a small voice. He didn’t know if the darkness bognet queen could understand him. The disappeared magic spirit once again appeared above Hyeonu’s head. Compared with consuming his magic power to move it, Hyeonu chose to cancel the summoning and summon it again.
The darkness bognet queen saw the magic spirit appearing again by Hyeonu’s side and grasped the situation. The little bear that harassed her was just fine.
“Kieeeek!”
Her enormous body moved quickly and ran toward Hyeonu without hesitation. Hyeonu quickly swung the Mysterious Sky Sword toward the darkness bognet, slashing from left to right. A huge black-red crescent appeared and swiftly rushed to destroy the enemy in front of it.
Before the Crescent Moon Cut could produce any results, Hyeonu already launched a subsequent attack. The Mysterious Sky Sword danced. Swinging up, down, left, right, and even diagonally, the sword moved on all types of trajectories. As a result, small and large pure energies emerged.

This was the Mysterious Sky Range. The newly emerged pure energies swept over the darkness bognet queen faster than the first Crescent Moon Cut. The darkness bognet queen stopped in her tracks. She raised her head and howled, “Kieeeeek!”
Accompanying the eerie cry, a black shield appeared in front of the queen. The black shield and black-red pure energy collided, and the black shield was shaken. Every collision caused rough shockwaves to the surroundings. The more collisions there were, the lighter the shield’s color became.
By the time the pure energies created by Mysterious Sky Range dissipated, only traces of the shield remained. This was when the huge crescent moon of Crescent Moon Cut tore through the black shield, which only had traces remaining, like it was paper. The crescent moon advanced without hesitation and eventually made contact with the torso of the darkness bognet queen. The body of the darkness bognet queen was split apart.
She didn’t have the ability to hold on. Her body was strong, but Hyeonu’s pure energy was more formidable. The parts of her body that couldn’t be defended with magic power were cut like tofu. Red blood gushed out from those wounds. It flowed endlessly and dripped to the ground.
‘Push even more.’
Hyeonu extended the Mysterious Sky Sword toward the darkness bognet queen and formed a black bead at the end of the Mysterious Sky Sword. It was Mysterious Sky Demonic Strength. The darkness bognet queen sensed something unusual from the black-red bead and tried to move to avoid it.
“Kieeeeeek!”
Nevertheless, it wasn’t the darkness bognet queen’s body that moved but her blood. She had tried using her power to move her body, and the reaction made blood flow from her wounds even faster. Those wounds hadn’t healed yet. Rather, they continued to increase in size.
Hyeonu’s magic power remained in the wounds, leaving her with pain and damage. A dark-red light pierced the darkness bognet queen’s body, and the surroundings of the pierced wound quickly turned to ashes. The site of the ashes grew larger and larger until her entire body was burned to ashes in the end. The moment the giant body of the darkness bognet queen disappeared and the ash melted into the blood, a message appeared before Hyeonu’s eyes.
[The occupier of the secret forest, the darkness bognet queen, has been defeated.]
[Experience has been acquired.]
[You have leveled up.]
[All health and magic power have been restored.]
Hyeonu smiled deeply at the message signaling his level-up. He didn’t know what items the darkness bognet queen would drop, but he was satisfied that his level had risen. That wasn’t the only thing that satisfied Hyeonu though.
[The title ‘Bognet Exterminator’ has been created.]
[Bognet Exterminator]
[A title given to the player who kills the bognet queen.
Effect: Movement speed is increased by 10%.]
He received a title. A title was as hard to obtain as a skill and was something that would normally only be obtainable when clearing a special instance boss or killing a boss monster.
‘I feel good.’
It was worthwhile to endure the frustration and keep hunting.
“Tang-E, good work. I hunted with ease thanks to you,” Hyeonu said to Tang-E first before picking up the items. This was because Tang-E was more important than the items. The instance dungeon hunt made him realize it again.
“Huh? Yes, I am a bit great.” Tang-E was embarrassed by Hyeonu’s praise, but he soon nodded with a bright smile.
“Yes, yes. You are the best.” Hyeonu stroked Tang-E’s head and then moved to the spot where the body of the darkness bognet queen had been.
‘I wonder what dropped.’ Hyeonu looked around with eyes full of expectation. However, there seemed to be no equipment items. The ground was only covered with gold coins that emitted a brilliant light.
“Sigh, of course. What should I have expected?” Hyeonu sighed and sat down on the ground.
He immediately started to pick up the gold. Seeing Hyeonu’s actions, Tang-E came to Hyeonu’s side and also picked up the gold. The hard-working Tang-E suddenly brought something to his chest. Then he naturally picked up more gold coins and handed them to Hyeonu like nothing had happened. “Here you go, Master dude. Take them.”
Hyeonu laughed when he saw Tang-E show off the gold coins. “Hey, didn’t you pick up a lot? Thank you, Tang-E.”
He quickly put the gold in his inventory and reached for Tang-E.
“Uwack! What are you doing, Master dude?!!!” Tang-E screamed with a distorted expression. The gold he was holding had long since fallen to the ground. There was one reason why Tang-E shouted—Hyeonu’s hand was pressing down on Tang-E’s head.
“What did I say before?”
“What do you mean? You have spoken to me more than just once or twice. I won’t know if you this is all you say, stupid Master dude!” Tang-E yelled at Hyeonu.
Hyeonu pushed his face toward Tang-E and then carefully removed his mask with his other hand.
“Didn’t I tell you not to hide anything you pick up?” The smile on Hyeonu’s face deepened, but his eyes weren’t laughing at all.
