《Dragon Prince Yuan》Chapter 736 Meeting the Patriarch again

Buzz!
When the fourth Saint Rune arrived, all four Saint Runes simultaneously entered the Cangxuan Saint Stamp. The Saint Stamp slightly trembled, before boundless waves of light suddenly burst out.
Light waves devastated the surroundings.
Following the explosion of light waves, all the experts were surprised to find that their Genesis Qi that had been restricted by palace master Sheng Yuan had been restored.
Palace master Sheng Yuan’s Genesis restriction had evidently been broken.
While the vast light waves continued to rage, Zhou Yuan closed his eyes due to the blinding light. It was a long while later before he slowly opened them again.
He could not help but be stunned when he could see again.
Because he found that the scenery around him had changed. He was currently situated in what seemed like an ancient starry sky, while the fierce fighting outside had disappeared.
“This is----” Zhou Yuan's eyes flickered with uncertainty.
“It's a small space inside the Saint Stamp.” A chuckle was heard.
Zhou Yuan abruptly turned around to see a light lotus floating in the air. Above the lotus, sat a mysterious figure.
That figure was clad in a long robe with his hair draped over his shoulders. His face was fair and youthful like a young man and his deep eyes were currently looking straight at Zhou Yuan with a smiling expression.
Zhou Yuan’s mouth fell open as he stared at the mysterious figure.
“Patriarch Cang Xuan!?”
The figure before him was patriarch Cang Xuan whom he once encountered in the Saint Remains Domain.
“Patriarch, you're not dead?!” Zhou Yuan’s face lit up with joy. If patriarch Cang Xuan was alive, there would be someone to deal with Sheng Yuan!
Patriarch Cang Xuan yawned as he explained with a smile, “Of course I’m dead, but Saint experts won’t be destroyed so easily. When I died, a fragment of my Spirit was hidden in the Cangxuan Saint Stamp.”
“Palace master Sheng Yuan is about to snatch the Cangxuan Saint Stamp and sect master Qing Yang and the others can’t stop him!” said Zhou Yuan in an anxious manner.

Patriarch Cang Xuan sighed, “I’m aware.”
Zhou Yuan drew a deep breath and asked, “So how do we deal with him? If palace master Sheng Yuan gets hold of the Cangxuan Saint Stamp, I am worried that the Cangxuan Sect will no longer be safe.”
Patriarch Cang Xuan said, “I actually had a secret plan. I originally intended to wait until the Cangxuan Saint Stamp fell into the hands of Sheng Yuan. When he begins to refine the Saint Stamp, I would strike and severely wound him.”
But he then shook his head, “But looking at the current situation, it's already too late. Your little girlfriend has already begun to break the seal.”
Zhou Yuan couldn't help but ask, “What happens after Yaoyao breaks the seal?”
Patriarch Cang Xuan avoided the question and said, “Now isn’t the time for her to release the seal.”
Immediately after, he gazed at Zhou Yuan in a strange manner.
Zhou Yuan felt extremely uncomfortable under his gaze, “Why is elder looking at me like that?”
Patriarch Cang Xuan chuckled. “I just think that you’re very impressive to have made her develop feelings towards you.”
Although Zhou Yuan and Yaoyao had already been together the last time they met, patriarch Cang Xuan could feel that the relationship between them was more akin to friendship.
But this time, they were obviously no longer mere friends.
Why else would Yaoyao break the seal in order to protect Zhou Yuan? How could she be emotional?
Zhou Yuan blushed with embarrassment, not knowing how to answer.
“We love each other.” He finally said.
Patriarch Cang Xuan chuckled, “I can only say that you have very good luck and met at the right time.”
Zhou Yuan frowned. He wanted to ask more but held himself back when he thought of Yaoyao’s current predicament. “Patriarch, I have completed the task you gave me. The culprit behind your death is peak master Lei Jun.”
Patriarch Cang Xuan’s expression turned complicated. “I am aware of the events that transpired after you arrived here. I just didn't expect my old friend to hold so much resentment towards me.

“In my younger days, Lei Jun really was someone I looked up to. He protected me from bullies and was like a big brother to me.
“Later on, when I had climbed to the pinnacle of the world, I found that he was still in that small little town. The genius from back then was now a nameless nobody, so I took him with me to establish the Cangxuan Sect.
“Looking back, he most likely felt that I wasn’t doing it to help him. Perhaps taking him along might have seemed like some kind of humiliation?”
Zhou Yuan was silent for a moment before he responded, “The little brother in his eyes had become an existence that he could only look up to. Once the mind loses its balance, it is easy to become an extremist.”
Patriarch Cang Xuan gave a bitter smile. He still couldn't easily read the minds of others after becoming an almighty Saint expert. Of course, Lei Jun had also hidden it far too well.
“Never mind, let’s not talk about him.”
Patriarch Cang Xuan waved his hand and said, “Our priority is to deal with Sheng Yuan.”
“How?” Zhou Yuan hurriedly asked. “He has already stepped into the Saint stage!”
Patriarch Cang Xuan chuckled, “How can that be considered a Saint expert? He merely relied on an external, and can't be called a true Saint.
“If it wasn't for the sacred race, he wouldn’t even have the guts to attack me.
“I originally planned to save my final bit of power to attack while his guard is down, but given the current circumstances, that plan is no longer necessary. In that case, let’s fight head on.”
Seeing patriarch Cang Xuan’s calm attitude, Zhou Yuan also relaxed a little.
“I’ll have to borrow your body for a while. Although it may hurt a little afterwards, young people should experience some pain, isn’t that right?” patriarch Cang Xuan stretched his body.
Zhou Yuan was taken aback. Without waiting for a response, patriarch Cang Xuan turned into countless specks of light that shot towards him and enveloped his body.
A mighty aura slowly arose from Zhou Yuan’s body.
Ch!
Palace master Sheng Yuan’s figure appeared in the mysterious domain.
His eyes immediately locked onto the Cangxuan Saint Stamp that was still erupting with light waves as greed flickered in his eyes. He then cast a dark gaze towards Zhou Yuan, who was standing motionless next to the Saint Stamp.
“What an eyesore.”
His tone was filled with nonchalance. With a flick of his finger, a wisp of golden Saint flame swept out. Space crumbled as the flame flew past. If Zhou Yuan was hit, both his body and Spirit would be incinerated into nothingness.
The Saint flame drifted downwards, seemingly slow, but directly piercing through space itself. It was impossible to evade the Saint flame. No matter what corner of the earth Zhou Yuan hid in, the Saint flame would follow his Spirit until he was turned to nothingness.
In the outside world, sect master Qing Yang was extremely alarmed by this scene but he knew that it was too late to save Zhou Yuan. After all, Zhou Yuan was as insignificant and small as an ant in Sheng Yuan’s eyes.
Old man Bai Mei, the Hongya Peak master and others sighed in sorrow as they stamped their feet in frustration.
The other experts shook their heads in sympathy.
Under countless gazes, the Saint flame was already mere inches from Zhou Yuan's head. But at that moment, his body seemed to stiffen before he slowly raised his head.
The Saint flame was reflected in his eyes.
He looked at the Saint flame, smiled, then opened his mouth and blew gently.
Ch!
The Saint flame that could incinerate experts of the Law Domain was instantly extinguished like a candle.
The entire world fell silent.
Even Sheng Yuan couldn’t stop his face from turning rigid.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
