"What the fuck is this tactic?" Gui Guzi raged from behind his shield as the swarm of Ivory Towers shot at him. The good news was that Gui Guzi had insanely high Defense and the Undying Shield to absorb part of the damage he received. Of all of us, he was probably the one person who was in no real danger of being one-shot.

After Li Chengfeng cut down three White Horse Cavalrymen with his Dark Blade, he answered, "It’s called point defense! I guarantee you that their cavalry is going to form a shield wall around their Ivory Towers and protect them with all they got while the latter shoot! This will end horribly for us if we can’t find a way to break through!"

Lin Yixin looked to me for directions. "Lu Chen, what do we do?"

I replied unhesitatingly, "Have our riders fall into a knife formation and cut through the enemy’s defense at all costs! We cannot allow the White Horse Cavalry to form an impenetrable wall around their arrow towers!"

"Got it!"

Xu Yang nodded and called out three people immediately, "Fighting Spirits, Chaos Moon, Heaven’s Rain, you three will attack their northside from three different angles. You must penetrate their defense line no matter what!"

All three Famous Generals immediately did as ordered and charged the enemy formation with the Dragonlight and Cyan Tiger Cavalries. The clearing was soon covered in blood and corpses.

I thrust the Purple Ying Sword through four people's chests while blocking the Ivory Tower’s short arrows with the Dragon God Shield. I also unleashed my AoE skills such as Thousand Ice Slash, Burning Blade Slash, War Crush and more repeatedly to cut down as many enemies as possible. I didn’t use Universe Break because it was a group battle, and AoE skills were more efficient than single-target skills in this situation.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

The White Horse Cavalry was famous for their impressive defense, but Burning Blade Slash tore them apart all the same. If Gui Guzi was the king of Defense, then I was the king of Attack.

On the other side, Lin Yixin was doing well with her Ice Flame Slash, and He Yi, her Purgatory of Ice and Magma as well. Both women possessed significant firepower. Lin Yixin had already been famous for her unrelenting offense even when she was still Beautiful Little Pepper, while He Yi’s Godslaying Blade turned even her basic attacks into AoEs. The Seven Star Veluriyam Spear left countless dead in its wake!

"Beiming!" I turned around and shouted, "Tell our mounted archers to use Skypiercers with the Far Shot mode and support our cavalry’s offense! We must defeat Flowing Cloud’s point-defense tactic as soon as possible!"

"Mn, got it, big bro!"

Very soon, our 5000+ Dragonlight Archers came to a stop at the periphery of the battlefield and started firing their Skypiercers straight into the enemy. The arrow rain dropped like unstoppable sharp fangs and tore through the White Horse Cavalry’s armor and flesh. Many Ivory Towers were shattered by the counterattack as well!

"Ahhh!" Droves of White Horse Cavalrymen fell off their mounts and died, causing their beautiful guild leader to turn pale. Still, she ordered, "Do not retreat! We’ve all brought 6 Ivory Towers with us! If you find an opportunity, drop them immediately and let them wear down at the opponent! Don’t try to engage them by force! We’ll outlast these Chinese players!"

Flowing Cloud’s strategy was as obvious as it was effective, and as a whole, we suffered heavier-than-expected losses. The Dragonlight Cavalry were strong enough to hang on, but the Cyan Tiger Cavalry and Purple Dragon Cavalry wouldn’t stop dying in droves. The horrific sight caused a lot of female riders to turn green atop their mounts.

Suddenly, a beautiful girl darted toward the arrow towers and waved her scepter, crushing dozens of Ivory Towers with her Dimensional Storm. There was only one person in the guild who possessed this level of skill and magical prowess, and she was of course Lian Xin.

"Kill that mage! She’s… she’s the Phantasm of Stars, Lian Xing! Kill her now!" Lian Xin was recognized almost immediately. A platoon of White Horse Cavalry immediately rushed toward her.

Rustle rustle rustle…

Lian Xin backpedaled across the grass while summoning seven or eight Origin Force Fields in front of her. The surprised White Horse Cavalry immediately faceplanted into the force fields and hurt themselves instead.

However, Lian Xin had moved too deep into the enemy lines, and White Horse Cavalry were surrounding her from all sides. It wasn’t long before a group came close enough to thrust their Barrier Breaks at her!

"Ugh…"

Lian Xin exhaled and crouched down a little, causing her long, pale legs to emerge from beneath her robes. Then, she parried Barrier Break and allowed the force to carry her to safety!

Half a second after she escaped, countless Barrier Breaks thrust into the spot she had been at and resulted in a MISS. She would’ve been skewered if she had reacted even a bit slower.

Having earned some free time for herself, Lian Xin fired off Dimensional Storm and a bunch of Wind Blades at the White Horse Cavalry who tried to kill her and destroyed them. Heavy-armor classes were weak to magic attacks, which meant mages were the bane of all melee fighters. For a fighter, the consequence of failing to one-shot a mage was usually death.

"Take her out! She cannot be allowed to live!"

A new group of White Horse Cavalry shouted as they charged her. Worse, three of them used AoE skills that Lian Xin couldn’t dodge with her technique. As a result, her Telekinetic Shield distorted significantly and lost a lot of durability!

Chiang!

A war axe slammed into her scepter and sent her rolling unceremoniously across the ground, a mount’s hooves missing her small form by mere inches. She didn’t let the attack go unanswered though. Three complicated-looking matrix arrays appeared on the ground, and the next moment laser-like pillars of magic burst out from beneath and tore the White Horse Cavalry into pieces. Literally. Those spinning ice blades were seriously no joke!

After Lian Xin had regained her footing, she backpedaled some more and unleashing the rest of her arsenal like Touch of the Dragonkiss and Arctic Rain. She even managed to carve open a safe space after slowing a group of riders with Gravity Shield and isolating herself within a dozen of Origin Force Fields.

"Hmph!"

Not far away, the magic swordsman Flowing Cloud snorted coldly and decided to meet Lian Xin in battle herself. Both her and her mount were incredibly high-level. The moment she got close to Lian Xin, she immediately used Barrier Break!

Chiang!

Lian Xin tried to parry, but Flowing Cloud knew she would do that and angled her sword upward, successfully dealing 40k+ damage to Lian Xin. Another Triple Slash later, the girl’s Telekinetic Shield instantly dropped to less than 10%.

"Ugh…"

Unable to hold on any longer, Lian Xin Blinked away from Flowing Cloud in an attempt to escape. However, cyan lotus petals suddenly appeared beneath Flowing Cloud’s feet, and a purple energy halo manifested around her weapon’s blade. It was a Divine General Skill!

"Meteor Strike!"

A sweet cry later, a meteor erupted from Flowing Cloud’s blade and flew toward Lian Xin in unstoppable fashion. There was no way Lian Xin was going to survive this if it hit. Worse, she just used Blink and had no other escape tools that could save her!

Right before the skill was about to hit, a beautiful woman suddenly dashed in front of Lian Xin and raised her shield in front of herself. She was none other than He Yi, our beautiful guild leader!

Bang!

Meteor Strike wasn’t a penetrating Divine General Skill, but it sure as hell packed a lot of punch. Even after He Yi used Holy Shield, she was still sent stumbling to the back and took 259828 damage!

My mouth fell open. Any other person would’ve been one-shot by this!

Not only that, the Meteor Strike shattered into many pieces and dealt massive damage to all the players around it, killing the Cyan Tiger Cavalry and Purple Dragon Cavalry close to the point of impact instantly.

Some of the pieces hit Lian Xin’s Telekinetic Shield and shredded it completely. The girl stared lovingly at He Yi while saying, "I love you boss! Please protect me for 3 seconds while I remake the Telekinetic Shield!"

"Mn!"

He Yi nodded strongly before activating the Godslaying Blade once more, causing a 20-yard long beam of light to erupt from the spearhead. Eyes shining with determination, she stared at the ring of White Horse Cavalry surrounding them with an expression that said: Come at me!

Astoundingly, she actually managed to cow the enemies and stop them from entering the Godslaying Blade’s attack range. Flowing Cloud could hardly conceal her frustration as she growled at her men, "Don’t be afraid of her! Go!"

To prove her point, she tossed out a huge fireball and deleted a large chunk of HP from He Yi’s health bar before continuing, "She only has less than 25% HP left! Come on!"

Unfortunately, He Yi had activated War God Recovery and had already regenerated a lot of HP before the White Horse Cavalry finally took action. She swung her spear left and right, an entire group of enemy riders lost a ton of HP. It was amazing!

Chiang!

Flowing Cloud herself charged toward He Yi and used Barrier Break, knocking back He Yi despite a successful parry. Our boss didn’t expect the magic swordsman to possess so much Strength.

Rustle...

Flowing Cloud danced around He Yi like a butterfly after fooling her with a feint. She then brought her sword straight down on Lian Xin!

"Who do you think you are!"

However, Xu Yang arrived just in time to knock Flowing Cloud’s hand out of the way and even score Mountain Stagger Slash on her mount. Even better, Chaos Moon’s Rock Crush appeared a moment later and dropped her HP further to below 30%. Finally, He Yi turned around and thrust her spear right through Flowing Cloud’s right breast!

With less than 25% HP left, Flowing Cloud was forced to activate some sort of a Magic Shield and withdraw back into the stack of towers. It was clear from the astonishment in her eyes that she didn’t expect China’s players to be this strong. She was lucky her opponents were just He Yi, Xu Yang and Chaos Moon. If it was Lin Yixin and me, she would’ve gotten a free teleport back to her city in three exchanges at most.

Boom boom boom...

Flowing Cloud’s expression grew uglier as more and more Ivory Towers crumbled under our Skypiercers. The Dragonlight Archers were simply too powerful.

"Boss, why don’t we chase after those mounted archers?" a Natural Flow corps commander suggested.

Flowing Cloud shook her head frustratedly, "It won’t work. God’s Domain tried giving chase at Wild Pheasant Ridge too, but they were massacred by the enemy’s hit-and-run tactic. We would only be repeating history. Sound the retreat and tell everyone to enter Final Duel Valley west from here. We’ll wait for another chance to fight them!"

"Yes ma’am!"
