The Undying Knight didn’t understand my order, so I explained, "We’re going to take out Baili’s Redstone Legion first while you keep her busy. Once she’s alone, we’ll focus all our firepower on her and take her out in 5 minutes!"

Gui Guzi smiled excitedly and beckoned 10 powerful priests to his side. After he had the bards buff him with everything they got and Lu Buyi to increase all his stats by 90%, he activated Undying Shield and smacked Baili right in the waist, shouting, "Wait, beauty! I want to tell you something!"

I swung my weapon and aggroed a group of NPC riders with Burning Blade Slash. Then, me and my Dragonlight Cavalry started cutting them down together. Among the pets, the Phantom Wolf King’s Claw of the Storm and Purgatory Storm were the biggest highlights of the battle, although the Ice Dragon Kris wasn’t too far behind, spitting draconic breaths at the NPC archers and mages from the sky. Every time her HP dropped too low, Lin Yixin would resummon her to her side and ask a priest to cast Restore on it.

The inner city wall was nowhere as tough as the outer wall. In fact, it was short enough that our ranged players could attack the NPCs from the ground, so the battle became a duel of firepower instead. The good news was that our players had great teamwork, and our priests were absolutely killing it with their healing power and timing. On the other hand, the NPC legion almost had no priests to heal them. It was fair though. Their stats and levels were already far higher than the players’, if they had priests to keep them healthy as well then it would be impossible to beat an NPC legion, period.

Less than half an hour later, tens of thousands of Red Legion NPCs were turned into dead bodies, Nation War contribution points and streams of EXP. White Horse City’s NPCs were already fewer than most because their map was poor, and their resources were few. At most, they had a legion of 100000 soldiers, which was nowhere enough to defend against our blades. As a result, their resistance grew weaker and weaker.

Chiang chiang chiang…

While this was going on, Gui Guzi ate three fiery slashes from the boss and lost most of his HP as he stumbled backward. Even with healing, he had to use Holy Shield to barely stay in fighting shape. His mount tenacity had dropped to 25%, and if this situation continued, it was only a matter of time before he died to Baili.

"It’s time. Let’s kill the boss!"

I shouted and ran toward the boss with everyone. I launched God Binding Art, but it missed just as I expected it would. The boss's level was simply too high for the skill to land.

"Beiming, try using Well of the Abyss and see if it’ll work."

Beiming Xue stepped forward and cast Well of the Abyss right beneath Baili’s feet, but the latter smiled disdainfully before stomping her foot. A light—her domain power to be exact—expanded from the point of contact, and the Divine General Skill was shredded just like that. Well, I should’ve known that it wouldn’t work on a boss. Well of the Abyss lowered the target’s HP by 50%, and the chances that an effect this potent would work on a boss was next to nothing.

I watched Baili and the 89% full health bar floating above her head grimly. I dashed past her and stabbed her right in the throat; her weak point.

Even with my Attack, I wasn’t able to penetrate her Defense too much. In fact, Gui Guzi and our mages had been fighting the boss for half an hour, and she had only lost around 10% HP.

Before I could steady myself, Baili swung her weapon horizontally and hit me and the Purple Dragon Cavalry around me. A crack appeared on my Heaven-burning Armor—her Attack was so high that even Immortal-grade metal armor was hard-pressed to withstand it—and the others lost almost all of their equipment durability in one go. Their chest armor had been absolutely shredded by the attack.

Combat Log: Redstone Baili used the skill "Rock Break", dealing 49827 damage to you and reducing durability of your "Heaven-burning Armor" by 17%!

The skill dealt less than 50k damage to me, but the Purple Dragon Cavalry who had also been hit couldn’t claim the same thing. They had all lost between 120k to 170k HP before dying. Their Defense was nothing compared to mine, not to mention that they weren’t protected by Great Earth Transformation.

"Shit!"

Li Chengfeng growled, "Watch out, everyone! The boss can destroy our equipment! Equipment’s stats won’t apply once durability reaches zero! Hell, it’s a fucking miracle Little Gui lasted this long!"

Not far away, Gui Guzi was panting heavily as he pointed as his own thighs. "You don’t say! I wouldn’t fare this bad if my legguards, boots, helmet and wristguards’ durability haven’t all been reduced to zero! Fuck man, if you guys were any slower I would’ve had to die for the guild…"

I hastily ordered, "Beiming, slow the boss and reduce her Defense! Lian Xin, use Gravity Trap to slow the boss, and Origin Force Field to cover for our melee fighters! Listen to my commands as we fight! We will kill the princess in 10 minutes tops! She will not stop us in our tracks!"

Everyone nodded in unison and got to work right away.

Two arrows hit Baili right between the chest and drew a small shower of blood, shrouding the wound in purple light and freezing energy. It was Beiming Xue’s Bone Eroding Arrow and Freezing Arrow, of course. The skill drastically lowered the boss's movement speed and bought me more space to fight against her.

Next, Lian Xin followed up with Gravity Trap, and I followed up with Icy Cyclone Domain, Although the boss was quite resistant, the combination of skills still managed to slow her to about 50% of her max speed. It was a perfect example of teamwork.

Ring ring ring...

A melodious ring signaled the beginning of Lin Yixin’s assault. While Baili was busy dealing with me, the Moonchaser Tiger growled at the same time as she pulled out the dagger at her waist. Moon Gaze came active, and she hit the boss right in the neck with Extreme Break + Triple Slash!

"Now is our opportunity to shine!"

I faced toward the boss and unleashed Burning Blade Slash and War Crush immediately, causing a bunch of 30k damage numbers to scroll above her head. It was incredible how much Defense Bone Eroding Arrow and Extreme Break lowered!

"Uuuu…"

Baili might be an Immortal Rank boss, but even she was starting to falter before the strength of China’s best players. Lian Xin’s Origin Force Field also greatly limited her attack paths and prevented her from going to town with us.

Suddenly, the Necklace of the War God’s Broken Blade flashed and injected a well of great strength into my body. Wonderful! It was the Outstanding Property—Broken Blade Attack!

A successful hit later, Baili shivered and froze in place. For 7 seconds, she wouldn’t be able to do anything. Now this is more like it!

Li Chengfeng, Chaos Moon, High Fighting Spirits and everyone else immediately rushed forward and attacked the boss. Together, we were able to remove a huge chunk of HP. Chaos Moon and High Fighting Spirits immediately withdrew after the stun duration was over though. Li Chengfeng could afford a protracted fight since he had Battle Soul Possession and Great Earth Transformation, but they couldn’t. Baili could easily deal over 100k HP to them with one hit!

At the distance, Beiming Xue’s Spiraling Arrow Blades and Lian Xin’s Ice Spiral Matrix put them both high on the DPS ranking. Other Sky City super experts like Purple Marquis and Shadow Chanel weren’t far behind either. Everyone was showing off their power and hitting the boss with devastating skills!

Less than five minutes later, Baili’s health dropped below 25%. As expected, not even an Immortal Rank boss was a match for a human wave attack!

Suddenly, the burning sword in Baili’s hand broke on its own, and her entire body became engulfed in flames. Staring at the sky with tears welling in her eyes, she roared angrily, "Gods above, please give me the strength to kill these invaders!"

Red, fiery objects started falling through the clouds and heading straight toward us.

They were giant, flame-wreathed swords with blades that were at least several meters wide. There was no way in hell we could survive even a single hit from this thing!

I hurriedly rushed forward and punched Baili’s shoulder with a Magic Piercing Punch, but the skill only extended the cast time by 50%! The boss's skill couldn’t be interrupted!
