Another group of players entered our view, and it was a troop of archers led by Coldmoon Rose. To my surprise, she activated Range stratagem to increase her party’s attack range by 120%, waited until all her archers had drawn their bows and ordered, "Fire! Destroy those northern mages!"

A hail of arrows—I spotted Spiraling Arrow Blades, Volley, Shock Arrows and more—flew toward the Northern Alliance’s camp. Again, I was surprised to see that they actually did good damage to the enemy’s Magic Shields. There were less than 200 archers in this archer party, and yet their explosive power was surprisingly high. After lying low for such a long time, Mad Dragon had actually managed to build a good archer party.

Their good fortune didn’t last long, however. Vienna’s Sorrow pointed his Immortal-grade spear at the archer party and growled, "Daybreaker, command the Behemoth Cavalry and eliminate those Chinese archers, quick!"

A troop of Vietnam cavalry immediately took action. There were about 150 of them, and they were all riding Behemoths. These mounts were unique to Chariot City of the German server, and yet they were now in the hands of the Vietnamese. Clearly, the two countries were close partners.

A hint of panic flashed across on Coldmoon Rose’s beautiful face as the enemy riders charged toward her party. She ordered, "Shoot them down with Mountain Stagger Arrows!"

Unfortunately, an archer party size needed to be 5 times bigger than the cavalry troop if they wished to defeat them without any losses. That clearly wasn’t the case here.

I unsheathed my sword and shouted, "Dragonlight Cavalry, take out these Behemoths! Let us clip Vienna’s wings first!"

Gui Guzi, He Yi, Li Chengfeng and everyone else copied my action, shouted a battle cry and charged straight toward the Behemoth Cavalry.

Bang bang bang...

Trusting in the Dragonlight Armored Horses’ superior stats, we slammed fearlessly into the Behemoth Cavalry’s flank and fired our Burning Blade Slashes, Dragonbone Flurries, Rock Crushes, Xiezhi Howls and more with reckless abandon. The Dragonlight Armored Horses’ Hoof Trample gave the Behemoth Cavalry quite a bit of trouble as well.

Screams of pain filled the air. The Behemoth Cavalry were no match for us in a direct fight as both their numbers and their Quality were far inferior to ours. In less than five minutes, they were all shredded into bits!

A shower of equipment and potions dropped to the ground. We took what we could and prepared to face the next battle.

Coldmoon Rose gritted her teeth as she looked back and forth between me and He Yi. "Thank you. We didn’t think Ancient Sword would help us…"

He Yi simply replied with a smile, "Sure. Just don’t stab us in the back in the future."

"Er…" Coldmoon Roes didn’t give us a response, probably because she knew that Roaming Dragon might disagree with her opinion even if she answered yes.

With that small intermission over, I rushed toward the boss next while shouting, "It’s the final boss, everyone! Take apart their defenses, drive a wedge into their hearts and snatch the boss from their hands!"

I dashed forward like lightning and activated Great Earth Transformation as the Armored Ice Qilin Horse neighed. Behind me, He Yi, Gui Guzi, Li Chengfeng, Chaos Moon and High Fighting Spirits were following closely behind.

The Northern Alliance was currently engaging Purple Lily and Snowy Cathaya’s cavalry in battle. It didn’t look like a victor would be decided anytime soon.

"Hold the gap! Kill all Chinese players!"

Vienna’s Sorrow was unstoppable as he charged in and out of the Chinese troops. Every swing of his spear left a small cyclone in the wake, and even Purple Marquis didn’t have the strength to take a direct hit. Droves of Chinese players died every time his spear spat out a 20-yard long beam. His killing power was just too great right now!

Crack crack crack...

Another spear beam swept across a dozen or so Purple Dragon Cavalrymen and dealt over 50k damage, killing them where they stood. With DPS like this, Vienna’s Sorrow could almost hold an entire section of the battle line by himself.

"Let me!"

Lin Yixin roamed the sides before speeding toward Vienna’s Sorrow. The Frostscythe Warhorse was panting heavily as if the battle was too intense for it.

"It’s you!" Vienna’s Sorrow suddenly lost his cool demeanor and shouted when he saw Lin Yixin. "You will pay for the twenty million lives you took!"

Swhoosh!

He swung an Ice Stream Blade at Lin Yixin and, caught by surprise, all Lin Yixin managed to do was raise her hand into a block. She let out a groan as the attack knocked her backward and disrupted her rhythm.

Empowered by Ice Stream Blade, Vienna’s Sorrow’s melee attacks had turned into ranged attacks, and they were a lot stronger than before. Lin Yixin was obviously no match for him in a head-on clash.

However, Lin Yixin’s eyes remained as clear as water as she regained control of her mount. Instead of fighting against the momentum, Lin Yixin let it carry her into a wide arc before charging toward Vienna again. She had also switched out her sword for a dagger.

"Hmph, are you trying to commit suicide?" Vienna’s Sorrow said with a laugh. He swung at her again with Ice Stream Blade.

Thud! Lin Yixin pushed herself off her horseback in an instant. Dismounting like a pro and flying through the air like a beautiful elf, she rolled past Vienna and stabbed him behind the neck with an impeccable Moon Gaze + Extreme Break combo. Still in the air, she pulled her sword from her back and stabbed the same spot with Barrier Break, dealing an incredible amount of damage—

Vienna’s Sorrow screamed in pain. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that the little girl who destroyed all his efforts with her Divine General Skill, God’s Tear, would be as skilled as he was.

That being said, his reaction wasn’t slow in the slightest. Before his scream even ended, he turned around and cut Lin Yixin’s shoulder with his spear, dealing over 30k damage. Then, he threw a punch at the exact same spot!

Lin Yixin crossed her arms to block the punch before clinging onto the Immortal-grade spear like a human-shaped vine. Then, the Devil Bell around her arm ringing melodiously, she lifted one foot and kicked Vienna right in the face!

It was a stunning sight. Who ever thought that the King in the North, Vienna’s Sorrow himself, would one day be shamed this way? The kick might not be particularly strong, but it was a blow to the pride for sure.

Moreover, Lin Yixin’s attack dealt double damage: her basic attack plus her equipment’s additional darkness component. That was the benefit for completing the Dark Prison set.

Vienna’s Sorrow was embarrassed and angry, but he didn’t allow much of his emotions to show on his face, much less affect his judgement. Punching Lin Yixin on the shoulder again and staggering her, he used Beast Howl Slash and sent her flying through the air like a broken kite. In the end, Vienna’s Sorrow was still stronger than Lin Yixin stats-wise.

"Yiyi is no match for Vienna…" He Yi murmured in a daze before recovering herself and pulling out her Blade of the Earthen Soul. "Li Chengfeng, Chaos Moon, follow me! We are helping Lin Yixin!"

"Got it!"

The two technicians rode after He Yi while Gui Guzi and I attacked from the flanks. I had to fire three golden seals into the enemies to clear a path, and Gui Guzi just raised his Undying Shield, swung his spear at everyone and everything around him and lodged himself in the enemy’s ranks like an irremovable thorn. The fearless Undying Knight gave the Bloodthirsty Beast Cavalry plenty of trouble.

Our ranged players such as Moonlight Stone and Beiming Xue were also firing their spells and arrows, providing us with support.

Meanwhile, October Rain smiled merrily as she said, "Mm, it looks like it’s time to attack. Warsky, we will work with Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls and wipe out the Northern Alliance. You can decide whether to fight them or not afterward…"

Warsky raised his weapon and shouted, "We will kill the North, slay Candle Dragon and meet Ancient Sword on the final battlefield! Brothers and sisters, show them what Warsky Alliance is made of!"

The members of Warsky Alliance let out battle cries and charged. Laughing At The Heavens laughed loudly as he said, "Kill! Vienna’s Sorrow must die!"

Warsky Alliance had suffered plenty of humiliation at the hands of Hero Alliance. This was their chance to take revenge.

At that moment, it was as if every Chinese force within the area had arrived at a wordless agreement; regardless of our relationship, we all agreed that our mutual enemy, the Northern Alliance, had to die first. Nine Tigers Soul Suppressing Tower used to be a part of our domain, and these northern wolves ain’t going to steal anything from us!

A ring of flames exploded among the Bloodthirsty Beast Cavalry and elicited howls of pain. It was Candlelight Shadow’s Outer Flame. Even Candle Dragon had joined in on the "rain on the Northern Alliance’s parade" party.

"Kill kill kill! Kill them all!"

Vienna’s Sorrow raged as he swung his Immortal-grade spear wildly. He was accompanied by twenty Heroic Bannermen, and the elites he gathered were nothing to be scoffed at. Not even our Royal Road–empowered Dragonlight Cavalry could withstand the concentrated firepower of his mages and archers. The reality was that the Heroic Bannermen were all incredible players, and their offensive power couldn’t be underestimated!

"Work with us and take out Vienna!" Candlelight Shadow shouted to me.

I nodded and spurred my mount forward, yelling, "I’ll be the point and the rest of you the support! Best case scenario, we stun Vienna’s Sorrow and kill him where he stands! Archers, keep your eyes on the enemy priests and interrupt their healing!"

I charged toward Vienna’s Sorrow in a straight line, immediately drawing the attention of several Heroic Bannermen. One of them was a female assassin who absolutely knew what she was doing, staying out of range of her would-be attackers but just close enough to me to be a threat I couldn’t ignore with just careful steps. It felt as if her daggers would fly toward my vital spots the second I wasn’t paying attention to her.

"Here it comes!"

The assassin suddenly activated Swift Dash and zigzagged toward me. She made sure to use the Bloodthirsty Beast Cavalry as cover and escape my field of view. When the time was right, she thrust her dagger at me and attempted to hit me with a lightning-quick Blind!

"Fuck, what a pain!"

I had to use War Crush to force her away. At the same time, I threw Burning Blade Slash in Vienna’s direction!

"Hmph!"

Vienna’s Sorrow raised his Immortal-grade spear and assumed Guard. He managed to nullify over 70% of the Burning Blade Slash’s total damage.

I predicted that he would do this, so I abruptly closed the distance between us—cutting down a nearby assassin while doing so—and used the God Binding Art!

However, Vienna was prepared for this. A couple of sidesteps were all he needed to avoid the skill.

At the same time, an enemy warrior beside me hit me with Barrier Break + Triple Slash. Even with my Heaven-burning Armor, it wasn’t the kind of damage I could ignore. Since I was deep inside the heart of enemy troops, everyone around me could be a deadly opponent!

It was at this moment a new player joined the battle. It was none other than Warsky himself.

A blood-red banner rose above the guild leader’s head, swayed a couple of times and caused all the Northern Alliance players around him to freeze as if they had lost their souls or something. It was of course his Divine General Skill, Ghost Banner. His chosen position was perfect, and he managed to stun a dozen or so Heroic Bannermen in one go!
