We shredded Hegemon Palace’s defense line like they were made of wet tissue. They were a super-sized guild, in the Top 10 of Sky City, but they had failed to defend themselves against Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls, The Monarch Descends, Blazing Hot Lips, and Baidicheng for even an hour. What was supposed to be a fierce back-and-forth exchange turned into a one-sided slaughter.

Of course, that wasn’t to say that it was a bad thing. Everyone loved slaughters, especially when they were the ones doing the slaughtering.

Li Chengfeng walked up to a Level 144 elite magic knight who had died and dropped a shining sword. Kicking it into the air and catching it with his hand, he gave it a look. "Level 140, 3-star Outstanding Purple Gold–grade, 1187 max Attack and an Outstanding Property that increases critical damage by 10%. Not a bad sword. Is there anyone who wants this?"

A Level 140 swordsman in Li Chengfeng’s party immediately raised his hand. "Me!"

"Anyone else?" Li Chengfeng asked smilingly, "We’ll roll the dice and decide the owner of this weapon right now. The luckiest person takes it all."

Half a minute later, the Level 140 swordsman won the dice roll and equipped the weapon immediately. He said happily, "Hoho, I finally got my hands on an Outstanding-quality weapon! I’m so happy! I’m going to brag about it in front of colleagues tomorrow!"

Hegemon Palace had a ton of players—there were 200000 of them at least—and it would’ve been a pain in the ass to kill them all if 70% of them hadn’t teleported back to the city of their own accord. We killed all those who remained behind, of course. They were hardly a challenge, but their equipment was pretty great. So, we spent a moment to pick up the loot on the battlefield and rewarded the brothers and sisters who joined us for the siege of Immortality City. We could keep the loot to ourselves, but that would be short-sighted to say the least. Why would anyone keep working for you when they didn’t even get paid for their hard work?

Half an hour later, there was only 1 hour and 45 minutes left on the clock. It looked like we would be cutting it a bit close.

From the elevated position of my mount, I could see that the territory hall was surrounded by players from great guilds such as Candle Dragon, Hall of Immortality, Rose of the Holy Domain and Throne Seeker. There were also a plethora of other guilds of all sizes. They were allies Candle Dragon and Hall of Immortality had recruited to repel the invaders.

I sucked in a deep breath. At least 400000 players were protecting the territory hall, a number that was entirely too big to force our way in without considerable effort. However, it looked like forcing our way in was also our only option.

"Come on, we can’t back down after we came this far, can we?" He Yi reassured me with a smile.

I nodded and raised my sword high. "Brothers and sisters, it is time to seize the territory hall! You all did super well this time, and we are just one step away from conquering this city! Let’s make sure we succeed and become a Top 10 guild in the Guild Ranking! For our dreams and glory, charge!"

Li Chengfeng, Xu Yang, Gui Guzi, and everyone else also raised their weapons and shouted, "For our brothers and sisters! For our dreams!"

Not far away, Come See The Snow Tonight burst into a giggle before saying, "I gotta admit, Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls’ personality is a unique one in China. As expected of a guild led by Lu Chen, huh?"

Ling Xueshang stared at them for a moment before spitting out. "Pooh!"

The four of us split up into four separate formations and pushed our way to the territory hall. Although Immortality City was just a Rank 3 Barbarian Castle, its territory hall was unusually majestic. As this was the castle of barbarians, its design was very free-form, and the rocks used to build it were ridiculously huge. So huge in fact that there were a couple of buildings that were really giant rocks with their insides hollowed out. The territory hall was a complete structure with only one large entrance, and standing right at the center of it was Bloodthirsty Battle Monarch. Right now, he gave off the impression of a one man army who could hold millions of enemies at bay.

Of course, that was just an illusion. Bloodthirsty Battle Monarch was just an idiot, the real threat was Candle Dragon guarding not far away from the entrance to the territory hall. Candlelight Shadow was grimly talking to Tempest Shadow about something, but I had no idea what kind of sinister plot they were cooking.

A few minutes later, He Yi suddenly said, "Not good!"

I asked, "What’s wrong, Eve?"

"The ninth and tenth subguild guarding outside the city were just attacked by Candle Dragon’s subguild and a couple of powerful allies. These people were fresh out of Wind City, and they numbered a couple hundred thousand players at least! Their firepower isn’t something our subguilds can ignore!"

"Tell them to meet up with Blazing Hot Lips and Baidicheng’s outside party and defend the entrances together."

"Mn!"

I gripped the Cyan Netherworld Sword and urged my Armored Ice Qilin Horse forward. Beside me, the Phantom Wolf King had entered stealth and crouched on the ground, eyes staring coldly toward the front.

Candlelight Shadow and his allies didn’t say anything. Their enemies were just too numerous.

Warsky, October Rain, Farewell Song, and their players were also waiting for something not far away from us. October Rain shot us a glance before smiling. "Very good, Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls has broken through Hegemon Palace’s blockade and reached the territory hall. Lu Chen is absolutely determined on conquering this territory, it seems."

Warsky looked surprised, but he admitted with a smile, "It’s every gamer’s dream to enter the CGL Hall of Fame, so I’d be a pretentious hypocrite if I replied ‘no’ to that question. Who doesn’t want to enter the Hall of Fame and become a celebrity?"

The corner of October Rain’s lips turned up. "There’s no need to be hasty. You are the guild leader of Warsky Alliance, and both your skill and your power are improving rapidly. It’s only a matter of time before you enter the CGL Hall of Fame. Also, think of it this way: if even the likes of Laughing At The Heavens can enter the CGL Hall of Fame, why can’t you?"

Laughing At The Heavens’ facial muscles twitched. "Little Rain, I’m going to be really sad if you insult my life’s biggest achievement again…"

It was none other than the guild leader of Peach Garden, Indigo Collar. It had been a very long time since I saw the man.

Indigo Collar stopped some distance away from be and grasped his fist in greeting. "We meet again, Broken Halberd Sinks Into Sand!"

I nodded and replied, "Well met!"

He asked, "Seeing as Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls and The Monarch Descends are interfering with Vanished God City’s business, does this mean that you’re working together with Blazing Hot Lips and Baidicheng?"

I answered honestly, "Yes, we have allied with Blazing Hot Lips and Baidicheng."

"That’s an amazing alliance you have there!" Indigo Collar praised. "Am I also right to assume that Ancient Sword Dreaming Souls will support Baidicheng’s ambition to conquer Immortality City with all their might?"

"That’s correct!"

"Hahaha, I thought so!" Indigo Collar laughed loudly. "I should’ve figured this out sooner. After all, who else has the power to force Candle Dragon back from the eastern walls, and defeat their Viper Dragoons at the eastern plaza? Hmph, there are only a couple of guilds in the entire world who can beat Candle Dragon right now."

I waved my hand in a humble manner. "It’s not really worth mentioning. While our cavalry troops managed to defeat the Viper Dragoons, it was a close victory at best. Worse, we lost most of our cavalry, but Candle Dragon still has a lot of reserve forces up their sleeves. They’re just too powerful. It will take time to beat a colossus like Candle Dragon."

Indigo Collar smiled refreshingly and nodded again. "That’s right, beating Candle Dragon isn’t something that can be done in a single battle. By the way, can I consider us allies since we share the same enemy?"

I nodded affirmatively. "Let us slay Candle Dragon together!"

Deep respect rose in Indigo Collar’s eyes as well as he raised his own weapon and declared, "Let’s!"

Words were unnecessary when heroes spoke frankly with one another.

Peach Garden had managed to preserve much of their strength until now. Indigo Collar barked out an order, and almost a 100000 elites launched an assault on the territory hall. More specifically, they were attacking Candle Dragon’s square formation directly. The sound of horse hooves, bow twangs and chants of magic joined together to form a dirge of war.

I unsheathed the Cyan Netherworld Sword and pointed at the left flank of Candle Dragon myself. "Brothers and sisters, it is time to attack! Our vengeance on Candle Dragon begins now!"

Everyone pulled out their weapons and charged Candle Dragon under my lead!

Leading at the front, I scared the shit out of the enemies in front of me with Thousand Ice Slash. Enduring all the arrows and magic blasts flying my way, I commanded the Phantom Wolf King to hit the enemies with Claw of the Storm first and follow up with Purgatory Storm later. The enemy subguildies screamed like little wussies when hit.

Next, Gui Guzi, Chaos Moon, He Yi, Li Chengfeng, Xu Yang, and everyone else caught up and unleashed their own AoE skills. Aurora Thrust, Rock Crush, Purgatory of Ice and Magma, Reverse Scale Slash, Mountain Stagger Slash, and more painted a beautiful painting as they erupted across the enemy lines. Behind us, Blazing Hot Lips’ ranged army was also unleashing hell upon the enemies. For several minutes, the first subguild of Candle Dragon couldn’t muster any counterattack under the barrage.
