For years, the government has secretly placated an eldritch horror beyond their understanding with human sacrifices. Our protagonist, Petre, is chosen as a sacrifice, but rather than devour and destroy him, the eldritch horror becomes infatuated with him.
The story follows: 1) Petre as he learns about the the eldritch horror and 2) the government's response to the eldritch horror's unexplainable behavior.
