The boy wants nothing more than to return to his reclusive life of studying history in Lanzhou, yet the whims of fate are too willing to drag him into the conflicts of Great Zhao, both external and internal.

The girl, bored and wanting to do anything, travels from Lanzhou to the capital where she will meet her father for the first time, not understanding that she is stepping onto the path of seeking The Way.
