A teenage gamer spends any free time he has in his bedroom on his console. Adrian revels in the character he has created and with whom he is becoming successful, in contrast to his real life. A mysterious package, containing an antique curio, arrives from China. This unexpectedly provides a means to escape the pursuit of an enemy, but plunges Adrian into a fantastical world resembling the game on his console.

Now he must not only defeat his enemy who follows him, but find a prince and princess to save an entire kingdom. Should he fail in any of these tasks, he risks never being able to return home, or worse, death. He is after all, a mortal doing battle with the gods.
